QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUBSATURDAY 22 MARCH 2025WEATHER: FINE TRACK RATING- RAIL: + 2m 600-300m- TRUE: REMAINDEROFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – T PrestonStewards Panel– W Glass.GENERALDue to mechanical issues with the on-course Ambulance QAS advised that another Ambulance would be attending the course and created a delay in the start of Race 3 which was amended to 2.15pm.Race 1: 4DDD MAIDEN PLATE 1000MPROPONENT- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Bumped with another runner approaching the 600m.READY GO BILLY- After beginning fairly, over raced during the early stages of the event despite the efforts of the rider to restrain. Bumped with PROPONENT approaching the 600m point. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.CHEVAL KHAN- Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event.LETTERS OF ROMANCE- Began awkwardly.OUR ESPRIT- Began awkwardly laid in tightening LADY ZAYDI as the start was affected. Drifted back in the field just prior to the 600mTended to lay in shortly after entering the home straight for the remainder.BLAME THE BUBBLES- Began awkwardly, jumped in and bumped LADY ZAYDI shortly after the start.LADY ZAYDI- Tightened for room shortly after the start when BLAME THE BUBBLES and OUR ESPRIT jumped in and out respectively after the start. Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the event.TOSSIT- Slow to begin.Race 2 BUNYA VISTA ACCOMMODATION MAIDEN PLATE 1000MCOSTA CATORI- Trainer Ms D Corbett advised stewards that her rider has been instructed not to use the whip in this event. Stewards notified the Race caller to advise patrons of this change of tactics.MASTER MIYAGI- Began awkwardly with its head in the air at the start.ROIGARD- Jumped in the air at the start and was awkward in beginning. Jky C Eaton advised stewards that the gelding had slipped as the gates had opened and this may have contributed to the disappointing start.SHINES BRIGHT- Began awkwardly and bumped another runner at the start then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.DARK RED- Bumped with SHINES BRIGHT at the start. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority.TALLULAH- Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 400m point.WANNA GET TIPSY- Raced greenly throughout, appeared to lose some ground at the 600m and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event despite the riders’ best efforts to improve into the race. SHE’S MY LADY- Laid in while improving into the race from the home turn, ran on well over the concluding stages.Race 3: ROCKY’S TREE SERVICE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000MALERTADO- On returning to the mounting yard the gelding was reported to have bled during the event. A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed a bilateral bleed and Stewards acting under the provision of AR79 enacted a 3 month ban on the gelding from racing with trainer Mr T Pascoe was informed of the decision.ESTE DIA- At approximately the 500m point Jky M Savva permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MR GORMAN ridden by Appr Jky M Goring who was forced to severely check his mount and was directed inward across the line of LEMON SUPREME whose rider Jky P Hamblin was forced to severely check his mount became unbalanced, losing considerable momentum as a result of the shift by ESTE DIA. Stewards acting under the provision of AR131(a) charged Jky M Savva with Careless Riding to which she pleaded guilty to the charge. In determining penalty Stewards rated the interference mid-range, noted the location of the interference, Jky Savva’s poor record in relation to this rule, her forthright evidence and her guilty plea. Then at approximately the 150m point Jky Savva permitted her mount to shift in resulting in the rider of MR GORMAN Appr Jky M Goring being crowded for room and having to check his mount making contact with the inside rail losing ground. In determining penalty Stewards rated the interference low-range, location of the interference, Jky Savva’s poor record in relation to this rule, her forthright evidence and her guilty plea. Stewards believed that an appropriate penalty for the offences would be a suspension of Jky M Savva’s licence to ride in races for a period of 14 days taking effect from M/n 22/3/2025 up to and including the 5/4/2025 allowing Ms Savva the freedom to resume race riding on the 6/4/2025. Jky Savva was advised of her right to a review of Stewards Decision.MR GORMAN-At approximately the 500m as a result of a shift in from another runner Jky M Goring was forced to severely check his mount, losing momentum and when approaching the 150m point when attempting to improve his position elected to take a run to the inside of ESTA DIA was then forced to check his mount and made contact with the inside running rail as a result of ESTE DIA shifting in and lost its rand momentum.LEMON SUPREME- At approximately the 500m point ESTA DIA shifted in resulting in MR GORMAN being dictated inward across the line of LEMON SUPREME resulting in the rider having to severely check, becoming unbalanced and losing ground.SO EXTRA- Lost a front near shoe enroute to the barriers, the start was delayed allowing the course Farrier to replace the shoe with the Mare being permitted to race.Race 4: DALBY ROTARY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200mZENA BOY- Slow to begin.FLASH ZARIZ- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start was affected. Raced towards the rear of the field for some distance, began to improve into the race from the 400m Held up for a short distance after entering the home turn then was redirected in by the rider ran on well over the final stages of the event.HIGH SECURITY- Began awkwardly when it jumped in tightening CHOCKABLOCK. Raced wide for the majority of the event.LA MANO- Began awkwardly by jumping out and tightening another runner to the outside. Laid out for the majority of the event. Raced wide in the home straight.TAKARA STAR- Laid out while racing wide in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.CHOCKABLOCK- Tightened between runners shortly after the start.UNCLE BUD- Began awkwardly and bumped by FLASH ZARIZ after the start. Raced at the rear for the majority.Race 5: DALBY RURAL SUPPLIES QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200MGRANNY’S REWARD- Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority.KEYBOARD- Bumped with HOTFOOT PERFORMER shortly after the start.HOTFOOT PERFORMER- Bumped with another runner at the start.HE’S A DEVIL-Dipped when jumping as the start was affected..NEW YORK GAL- Bumped with another runner after the start.MISS MOSCATO- Raced wide with cover during the middle stages of the race. Laid in for some distance from the 800m for a short distance before being corrected by the rider.LATE NIGHT DEVIL- Stewards were notified by Trainer Mr T Thomas that due to transport issues he would need to scratch the gelding from this event. Stewards accepted Mr Thomas’ explanation and subsequently ordered the horse be declared a late scratching at 11:18, with no deductions being applied as betting had not commenced on the race.SPLIT THE CASH- Jumped in the air at the start and then bumped with NEW YORK GAL shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 400m point for the remainder of the event.PAMPUNI- Slow into stride.Race 6: ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE NEWMARKET OPEN HANDICAP 1400MFLANK SPEED- Began awkwardly and made contact with the nearside barrier partition as the start was affected.PESHWA- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Laid in, for some distance in the home straight.ZAIDIN- Dipped at the start and then bumped with PESHWA shortly after the start.BARCLAY’S BANK- Began awkwardly. Tended to lay in in the home straight.Race 7: COUNTRY PATHFINDER MOTOR INN BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400MBELLE’S BOY- Began awkwardly bumping the barrier partition as the start was affected. Raced wide for the majority.SAXON SLAYER- Slow to begin and then was tightened after the start between SNAKESKIN and SWIFT SON when both runners began awkwardly jumping out and in respectively.VANCITY- Raced wide for the majority. AZUKI- Began awkwardly.SWIFT SON- Began awkwardly bumping another runner shortly after the start. Rolled in momentarily prior to the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the event. LINDA’S MAGIC- Slow to begin.SNAKESKIN- Began awkwardly tightening the runner to it’s outside and then bumping with SWIFT SON shortly after the start.
