RACE 1: SHARE THE DIGNITY Maiden Plate (1100m)

Correct weight was slightly delayed to allow jockey B.Appo the rider of MANHATTANITE to consider whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner LUCKY CHAMPION. After doing so, he declined to proceed.

GREY COURT – Began awkwardly.
 
SID – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
LUCKY CHAMPION – Bumped on jumping.
 
IADOREYOU – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MANHATTANITE – Slow to begin. Slightly hampered approaching 150m and had to alter course back to the inside of LUCKY CHAMPION which shifted out slightly.
 
LITTLE BIT LITTLE – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
SUNSET WISH – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
After the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Soft 6.
 
RACE 2: HOUSE OF FIVE CONSTRUCTION Benchmark 60 Handicap (1100m)

STELLARCRAFT – Began awkwardly and made contact with inside barrier partition and lost ground. Passing 900m had to be steadied away from heels.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Slow begin. Passing 900m was severely checked, clipped heels and blundered when tightened for room by RAINBOW SPIRIT, which shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice M.Shimodeira pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR.137(a), being that passing the 900m, Apprentice M.Shimodeira, rider of RAINBOW SPIRIT, allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of TIN’S POCKET, ridden by Apprentice M.Wishart, which clipped heels and blundered, almost dislodging its rider and losing its rightful running. Apprentice M.Shimodeira’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 14 July 2018 up to and including midnight the 23 July 2018.


STICK WITH ME – Raced 3 wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP – Jockey V.Venkaya pleaded guilty to a charge under AR.137A(4)(c) for using excessive whip on TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP when that horse was out of contention. Stewards fined him $200.00. Jockey V.Venkaya was also issued a reprimand under AR.137A(5)(a)(ii) and AR.137A(4)(b).

GUADALUPE – Slow to begin.
 
KAIZARI – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide until passing the 700m.
 
BOAZ – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
MR RED SHOES – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

BETTABET RED – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
After the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Soft 5.
 
 
RACE 5: JARED CASSIDY & FAMILY Benchmark 55 Handicap (1650m)

AFLIE JUNIOR – Began awkwardly.
 
CREATIONIST – Bumped on jumping.
 
SHINING BROOKE – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide in the early stages before finding a position with cover passing the 900m.
 
GET OUTA UTAH – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. After racing in a rearward position early, it commenced to over race and was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 900m.
