After the running of race 3 licensed stablehand Ms P Howard  approached Stewards to make a formal complaint regarding the conduct and alleged physical contact made by licensed trainer Mrs A Stephens.
At a subsequent inquiry, and after hearing evidence from both parties involved, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed so as to obtain any further evidence including witnesses to the alleged altercation.
 
 
Race 1: CFMEU JELLINBAH LODGE/GRAY STREET VETERINARY/WHITEHOUSE GROUP BM 60 HANDICAP 900m
 
GOWER – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
LAST ROUND – Laid in shortly after the start.
 
NEED FINANCE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SAMUEL JAMES – Raced three wide with cover throughout and then made the home turn extremely wide.
 
TELLOFF – Raced three with cover throughout
 
SET WAIT – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 2: JELLINBAH MINING PTY LTD CLASS B HANDICAP 900m
 
 
COALBANK CAVIAR – After getting its head in the adjoining barrier prior to the start being effected, it then began slowly, awkwardly and veered out sharply unbalancing apprentice T Doyle who eventually was dislodged. Apprentice T Doyle was examined by ambulance personnel and cleared to fulfil his further engagements.
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to look at footage and determine if COALBANK CAVIAR was denied a fair start. After viewing the footage in the presence of all connections and the starter, it was determined that prior to and as the start was effected COALBANK CAVIAR had its over into the adjoining barrier and was denied an equal opportunity to begin with the rest of the field.
Stewards acting under the provisions of AR134A deemed COALBANK CAVIAR a non runner. All monies invested on COALBANK CAVIAR were to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply to all winning bets:   25 cents in the win for first (1)

RAPT IN BLACK – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
MOUNTAIN RETREAT – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
NORTHERN SECRET – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PAYOFF – Raced four wide with cover throughout.
 
GENERAL SIDERIUS – Proved difficult to load and then raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: CENTRAL HIGHLANDS REGIONAL COUNCIL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE  900m
 
SHEQER  CROI- Slow to begin.
 
ROCKET OF GOLD – Failed to muster speed in the early stages.
 
CRAIGLEA TORQUE – Raced in restricted room between runners passing the 500m.
 
ANNMARIE – Had to be steadied passing the 600m and then shifted out across heels. Apprentice E Smith rider of CORAL SEAS was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a) for shifting in when not fully clear.
 
DELCETTO SYRAH – Forced wider passing the 600m.
 
WESTERN BEAT – Forced wider passing the 600m.
 
LETITRIPPOTATOCHIP – Forced wider passing the 600m and then laid in under pressure over the final 100m causing its rider to be inconvenienced.
 
WITTY SON – Began awkwardly and shifted out abrubtly.
 
 
 
Race 4 : DINGO ROADHOUSE HOTEL  BENCHMARK  45 HANDICAP 1200m
 
SWIFT RESPONSE – Bumped with CAPTAIN ADRIATIC passing the 700m.
 
CAPTAIN ADRIATIC – Bumped with SWIFT RESPONSE passing the 700m.
 
SUPERIOR DRAGON – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground and then was ridden forward to race three wide with cover throughout.
 
LUCIFER’S ANGEL – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
GORGEOUS GAL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
 
 
Race 5: ST OLIVE & SONS DINGO CUP CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the rider of the second place horse ZATORIO to view the footage to determine if he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner THAT’S HER I THINK. After doing so he elected not to proceed.
Correct weight was further delayed whilst Stewards in the presence of the judge confirmed their original decision for fourth pacing where the numbers were 8-2-4-6. After deliberating the judge wished to change the numbers to read 8-2-4-5. Stewards were satisfied with the correction of numbers and gave correct weight.
 
BAWAARDI ROCKET – Slow to begin.
 
THAT’S HER I THINK – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
HIERARCHAL – Raced wide in a rearward position.
 
ZATORIO – Passing the 600m shifted out to improve and in doing so caused some tightening to ENEMY OF MAN.
 
ENEMY OF MAN – Passing the 600m had to be steadied slightly when tightened for room by ZATORIO which shifted out to improve. Jockey P Romeo rider of ZATORIO was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
CHATEAU MAROUX – Rider reported that his mount faulted and may have clipped heels rounding the home turn before weakening over the final 200m. A post race veterinarian examination revealed the mare to have suffered a ruptured suspensory to the off fore leg. Trainer J Manzelmann advised that the mare will now be retired from racing. Stewards however advised Mr Manzelmann that if circumstances were to change that a veterinary clearance of soundness would need to be provided prior to racing again.
