QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DINGO RACE CLUB – SATURDAY, 24 August 2019 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – GOOD/ upgraded to FIRM prior to race 1 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – J. AdamsStewards – M. Heath Clerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – G. CampbellVeterinarian – Dr S GoodwinStarter – R Moulds RACE 1: WHITEHOUSE GROUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 900m CLAPPERS – Raced wide without cover throughout. MAKE AMENDS – Slow to begin. IVY LANE – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 2: JELLINBAH MINING PTY TLD CLASS B HANDICAP - 900m ABSOLUTE BONZA – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. NOCK WITH YA ELBOW – Stewards acceded to the request by trainer A Albert for the late withdrawal of the gelding due to the track upgrade at 1.05pm. FOXY BELLA – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. SPOT ON – Raced wide without cover throughout the event. FADING MIST – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Rider reported that his mount resented the kick back racing at the rear of the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in both fore legs. Trainer Mr D Schultz was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to next start. FLOSSY TOP – Raced wide without cover throughout the event. RACE 3: CENTRAL HIGHLANDS REGIONAL COUNCIL/ CQ REGIONAL WASTE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 900m CHEERS FOR CHARLIE – Rider reported that he became concerned with the action of the gelding and elected to pull CHEERS FOR CHARLIE out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have mild soreness in the sole off fore leg. RETAIRIUS – Slow to begin. TEREX – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. General Following the running of race three, the Dingo Race Club elected to water the track without the consultation of stewards or the rider group. Stewards with a delegation of senior riders inspected the track following attempted remedial work by the race club to fix effected sections of the track and it was a unanimous decision that the track was unsafe for racing due to surface water. As such the riders group withdrew their services and the remainder of the meeting was abandoned at 4.00pm. Stewards advised the Dingo Racing Club that in future no remedial work should be conducted on the track without the express permission of the stewards.
