WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - TRUE POSITION
RACE 1:WWW.PSX.TO H'CAP - 1200M.
FLYING TAAN jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the hind quarters of WESTERN BRACE.
FIRES OF IRELAND was also slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, DANCE THE RHYTHM shifted in and made contact with FIRES OF IRELAND.
RACE 2:VENDING SOLUTIONS FRESHMAN QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1010M.
ACTIVE COMBAT was hampered on jumping away between FRED'S BOYS and SLOUCH, which shifted in.
SHORE and SAMMY SEQUALO were slow to begin.
Making the first turn, SLOUCH, when steadying off the heels of TRANSFIX, shifted in abruptly, tightened the running of FRED'S BOYS.
Approaching the home turn, GET CARTER had to be steadied off the heels of TRANSFIX.
SHORE shifted out making the home turn and made contact with FRED'S BOYS.
Shortly after entering the straight, SHORE had to be steadied off the heels of SLOUCH, which shifted out. SHORE then hung in for some distance in the straight.
Approaching the 200m., ACTIVE COMBAT shifted out from behind the heels of WELCOME NEDIYM to obtain clear running.
Z. Purton reported that HELTER SKELTER was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
RACE 3: INFRONT SOLUTIONS QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1615M.
When the pace steadied approaching the 1200m., AMEX had to be eased off the heels of PLAY ME.
Jockey A. Abrahams reported that WHISKEY ON ICE had to be steadied making the home turn due to his mount hanging out slightly, and also when racing in restricted room between AMEX and REMI.
MONACO MISS was held up for clear running until inside the 100m..
RACE 4: EUREST H'CAP - 2100M.
When the pace steadied near the 1400m., COMMAND THE WIND shifted out from behind the heels of TRAIT.
Passing the 1400m., TRAIT then shifted out abruptly off the heels of MASONRY, forcing COMMAND THE WIND wider on the track.
COMMAND THE WIND was obliged to race wide until making the home turn.
At the entrance to the straight, KUGELHOPH had to be steadied to avoid the heels of the tiring TRAIT.
Shortly after entering the straight, ARCHIDAMIA had to be steadied when COMMAND THE WIND shifted in.
A veterinary examination of TRAIT, which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 5: PROTECTOR BLINDS AND SECURITY H'CAP - 1350M.
On return to scale a protest was lodged by Z. Purton, rider of the 2nd placegetter, MISS ASTUR, against MAGIQUE SKY being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 250m.. Stewards found that from the 200m., MISS ASTUR had been impeded and forced wider on the track by MAGIQUE SKY, which continued to shift out. Bearing in mind the margins involved, stewards upheld the objection and amended the Judge's placings to read: 9. MISS ASTUR - 1st; 6. MAGIQUE SKY - 2nd; 4. FAIR DECREE - 3rd. As a result of MAGIQUE SKY and MISS ASTUR shifting ground, OPAL RAINBOW was forced wider on the track.
Shortly after the start, KALISSA had to steadied off the heels of EMMA READY, which shifted in.
For some distance approaching the home turn, MODEL MATERIAL was held up for clear running.
RACE 6: ORD MINNETT H'CAP - 1200M.
SCENIC WARRIOR was slow to begin.
After being steadied off the heels of CLAY SHAKER near the 1000m., THREATNER got its head up and was inclined to race ungenerously for some distance.
RACE 7: CHURCHIE H'CAP - 1615M.
BERGAMIA was slow to begin.
LEVANTE shifted in on jumping away, taking DESK TOP LOVER in to the hind quarters of MAKIN' TRACKS.
Near the 800m., MIDNIGHT WARRIOR shifted out and made contact with LEVANTE, forcing that gelding wider on the track.
Approaching the 600m., MIDNIGHT WARRIOR attempted to shift out and improve and in doing so made contact with LEVANTE.
Close to the finish line, MAKIN' TRACKS shifted out under pressure.
RACE 8: PAULS H'CAP - 1110M.
G. Duffy was examined by the club's doctor after riding in race 6 and stood down from his engagement on VAIN AND HANDY. M. Rodd was substituted as the rider of that gelding.
QUALO jumped awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with LACRYMA BAY.
LACRYMA BAY hung out after leaving the 600m. and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Trainer N. Boyle indicated that LACRYMA BAY would now be spelled. Stewards advised N. Boyle that LACRYMA BAY would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to starting again.
Close to the finish line, STORM SCENE, ALL CHEER and LACRYMA BAY were all tightened for room between QUALO and VEESAR, both of which shifted ground.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
