BRISBANE TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT SAT.8.11.03

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr A. Reardon, (Chairman), Mr C. Clifford, Mr D. Hensler, Mr G. Ireland, Mr D. Tapsall, Mr C. Harris (Cadet).

WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - GOOD/DEAD AFTER RACE 3

RAIL - 6.5M. ALL TRACK


RACE 1: COLLINGWOOD PARK ESTATE H'CAP - 1110M.

PICATUNE was slow to begin.

BIRTHDAY BASH jumped awkwardly.

Nearing the 200m., HIAWATERS had to be steadied to avoid the heels of VIKING GROOM, which shifted out under pressure.

HIAWATERS was obliged to race wide throughout the event.


RACE 2: ROYAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION H'CAP - 2230M.

PRESS was slow to begin.

Near the 200m., HACHI had to be steadied off the heels of MIDNIGHT MOON, which shifted ground.


RACE 3: TRIPLE M QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1640M..

KENTIME jumped away awkwardly, taking SHORE out on to the hind quarters of LITTLE PUNK.

VICTORY HIGHWAY was slow to begin.

When the pace steadied making the first turn, GALACTIC WARRIOR was inclined to overrace when being eased off the heels of LITTLE PUNC. VICTORY HIGHWAY, which was following, was eased as a consequence.


RACE 4: IPSWICH CITY H'CAP - 1200M.

AWESOME SHADOW jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the home turn, GOLDEN SNITCH shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact with WITH MY.

TYPIFY bled from both nostrils during the event. Connections were advised that TYPIFY would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months. A swab sample was taken from TYPIFY.


RACE 5: B105 H'CAP - 1200M.

PITTAPADDY raced fiercely approaching the first turn when being restrained.

After leaving the 800m., CONISTON'S WARRIOR had to be restrained off the heels of MESSIAEN.

N. Day, rider of PITTAPADDY, accidentally dropped his whip close to the finish line.

WEAISHE was obliged to race wide throughout the race.


RACE 6: ROSS LLEWELLYN MOTORS H'CAP - 1640M.

J. Powell reported that ALFONSO pulled hard in the early stages.

Near the 1000m., CLASSIC KARLA had to be steadied to avoid the heels of STRIKE FORCE, which shifted in.

Trainer A. Robinson was advised that STRIKE FORCE'S nomination, which finished near the tail of the field, would not be accepted in the metropolitan area.

FORGING'S LAD bled during the event. Trainer L. Kelly was advised that FORGING'S LAD would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.


RACE 7: Q.L.D. GROUP H'CAP - 1350M.

NOBLE KAAPTIVE blundered on jumping away.

HE'S ON FIRE was slow to begin.

After leaving the 1200m., NOBLE KAAPTIVE was tightened for room by COUNTER AGENT, which was taken in slightly by PENOLA.

IMPREGNABLE was hampered passing the 200m. when tightened for room between the tiring COUNTER AGENT and KING LOTTO.

B. Stewart reported that MUSIC STAR was not comfortable on the rain-affected track.


RACE 8: INITIATIVE MARKETING H'CAP - 1640M.

BRASSY JIM, which broke through the barriers prior to the start, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

BRAVE GENTLEMAN was slow to begin.

BRAVE GENTLEMAN was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight, and near the 200m., had to be checked when tightened for room between TRENDY TIME and the tiring PROUD ASCOT, which shifted out.

When questioned as to the reason why REGAL GARTER shifted ground on the home turn, which enable PRIDE OF PARIS to obtain a run to his inside, M. Rice state that REGAL GARTER had given him a difficult ride by hanging in in the early stages and then hanging out after leaving the 800m..


ALL WINNERS AND TYPIFY WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
