COMMANDSA BLUE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.
When questioned as to the performance of DESERT CULTURE, J. Byrne stated that he had intended to hold a position midfield in the early stages, however due to the horse racing greenly inside other horses, he could not hold his position and as a consequence the horse raced further back in the field than anticipated. He stated that near the 650m., DESERT CULTURE was reluctant to hold its position when racing in restricted room inside BREAKFAST JOY, and whilst making ground from the top of the home straight to the finish line, the filly had a tendency to race greenly when being ridden with the whip. He explained that the horse travelled well until the home turn, however when challenged by other runners, the horse failed to respond to his riding. A veterinary examination revealed TARONGA PARK to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, and the connections of the horse were notified that the horse would be required to barrier trial before racing again, and a veterinary clearance outlining the results of an ECG would have to be provided. TARONGA PARK was also sent to be swabbed.

He added that in future, he would instruct riders that the horse be ridden back off the pace.
RACE 5: RICHMOND GROVE H'CAP - 2060M.
