From Eagle Farm meeting, 9 August 2014

Trainer K. Schweida reported that Epic, which performed disappointingly, pulled up well after that effort and it was his intention to continue with its program.

From Eagle Farm meeting, 6 August 2014

Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos reported that Sweyn had pulled up lame following the event and would now be sent for an immediate spell. Mrs Cotsiopoulos was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Sweyn racing again.

As P. Holmes and B. Stewart were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the stewards summary sheet.

Race 1: Arctic Kiss Ice Bar Maiden Plate – 1660m

ARMOURED – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up just prior to straightening.

ASSERTIVE LOVE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

IF EVER – Overraced in the middle stages.

GRACEFUL ROSE – Overraced in the middle stages.

EMPRESS EUGENIE – J. Taylor was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out near the 150m, resulting in DANCING WARRIOR being inconvenienced.


Race 2: Exclusiveforeverybody QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1350m

DIDDY WIN DIDDY – Raced wide throughout.

DESPINA – Became unbalanced when crowded for room rounding the home turn.


Race 3: Sundays At The Boundary Maiden Plate – 1200m

SACKFUL – Trainer C. Jordan was fined $100 for the late declaration of R. Wiggins as the rider of the gelding.

A MONEY TRAIL – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100 for failing to present the identification card.

BIDZILL – Connections advised from the wide draw it would be ridden quieter. The horse was ridden accordingly.

FUSINA – Inconvenienced near 200m when crowded by GLENDARA (C. Munce). C. Munce was reprimanded.

A MONEY TRAIL – Inconvenienced at the 800m when crowded between GLENDARA and THE LYNCHES. Again hampered slightly at the 400m when THE LYNCHES shifted out.

FASTNET ACADEMY – Steadied near 800m.

SACKFUL – Held up approaching the 400m and rounding the home turn.

SCORUPCO – Bumped at the 400m and shifted out, inconveniencing WHATALOVELY DAY. Raced 3 wide throughout.

NOTHING VENTURED – Held up for clear running approaching the 200m.



Race 4: Captain Morgan CG&E Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1200m

THEFIFTHHOLE – Struck its head in the tie up area. Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bounded at the start.

AGENT BLUE – Crowded at the start by ARAWAK, which shifted out.

ROBBERS ROOST – Raced 3 wide throughout without cover.

AGENT BLUE – Crowded for room on straightening.


Race 5: Mother Energy Class 3 H'cap – 1040m

MALIBU DANCER – Slow to begin.

CELESTIAL DRAGON – Jockey Damian Browne was found guilty of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift in approaching the first turn, resulting in FLINDERS SEA, LUCKY BLACK and FEW ARE CHOSEN, which were racing to the inside, being badly crowded for room, with FEW ARE CHOSEN striking the heels of CELESTIAL DRAGON, almost dislodging its rider. D. Browne was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 meetings, to commence at midnight, 17 August and to expire at midnight, 31 August.

SWEET CHILLI ROSE – Jockey G. Cooksley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 700m he allowed his mount to shift in, resulting in LUCKY BLACK being taken in on to FLINDERS SEA, which was crowded and had to be restrained. G. Cooksley was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 16 August, and to expire a midnight, 29 August.

FLINDERS SEA – Badly crowded near the 900m. Restrained when crowded at 700m. Inconvenienced near the 500m when crowded slightly by HAMMERSMITH, which was overracing and inclined to lay in when racing tight inside MALIBU DANCER.


Race 6: Corona Beach Party Class 4 H'cap – 1660m

ACCIDENTAL – Crowded for room at the start by DEADLY DENNIS, which shifted out. Restrained off the heels of BAITED BREATH at the 1400m when overracing.

DEADLY DENNIS – Caught wide in the early stages and pressed forward to eventually cross to the lead.

UP AND ABLAZE – Checked off the heels of the tiring SATIRICAL BOY.

PRIVATE LABEL – Disappointed for a run between the tiring SATIRICAL BOY and ACCIDENTAL near the 200m.

SATIRICAL BOY – Trainer J. Chan was fined $100 for presenting the horse in other than its correct gear.


Race 7: Novotel Brisbane Airport Class 3 H'cap – 1350m

TAKE A JACKET – Slow to begin.

FRISCO JOE – Slow to begin.

ROSSARITA – Raced 3 wide without cover.

ENDLESS PUZZLE – Checked off heels of the tiring DAME DESTINY near the 600m.

ONA’S CHOICE – Held up rounding the turn and on straightening.

DANSAL – Hung in in the straight.
