GENERAL

Apprentice S. Payne was fined $100 for failing to produce his winning rides book.

Race 1: JAMES BOAGS PREMIUM CLASS 5 H’CAP - 1110m

TRILLIUM – Reared as the gates opened and lost ground.

Race 2: NOVOTEL BRISBANE AIRPORT BM75 H’CAP - 2240m

As apprentice M. McGuren was unable to claim his full allowance, apprentice B. Grylls was substituted as the rider of MASTER AVATAR. Apprentice McGuren was fined $100.

BEAU BOY – Apprentice J. Orman was dislodged on pulling up, however returned to the enclosure and weighed in.

GRAWLIX – Raced wide in the early stages and then ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 1300m. T. Bell reported on return to scale that the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, however trainer R. Lipp advised that he would experiment with a tongue tie on the mare for its future starts.

KAISER FRANZ – Slow to begin (3 lengths).

ALDOUS – Held up rounding the home turn. Rider R. McMahon was reminded of his obligation to ensure he rides his mounts to the end of the race.


Race 3: YOUR DIGITAL FILE QTIS 3YO H’CAP - 1350m

JACK BE QUICK – Slipped behind on jumping. J. Byrne reported at scale that the gelding hung out for the entire race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had cuts in the mouth.

OUR ROCK O’REILLY – Tightened for room between runners near the 600m.

FALZINI – Overraced in the early stages.


Race 4: TOYOTA FLEET NORTHERN REGION C,G&E MAIDEN H’CAP - 1200m

FURTHERMORE – Reared and dislodged rider after being fractious in the barriers, removed, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Trainer R. Heathcote advised stewards that he would recommend to connections that consideration be given to sending the horse for a spell.

CAPTAIN RED – B. Stewart dropped his whip at the 200m.

SWENSON – Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

SILENCE IS AVIRTUE – Raced wide throughout.


Race 5: ROLLASOLE F&M MAIDEN H’CAP - 1200m

MIRACLE PILL – Shifted in abruptly when racing greenly passing the 900m. Again shifted in approaching the 600m despite the efforts of its rider and tightened another runner.

ALL CLEAR – Brushed the running rail leaving the 700m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

GIRLSGOGIDDYUP – Shifted out approaching the 600m and made contact with another runner.

LADY DUPORTH – Shifted in after passing the 900m and brushed the running rail.

TINA MELINA – Raced wide without cover.



Race 6: MITAVITE AUSTRALIA RATINGS BAND 0-70 H’CAP – 1200m

Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to declare T. Bell as the rider of MOSSCAT by the prescribed time.

No racing incidents.

Race 7: CHANNEL 7 CLASS 3 PLATE - 1350m

ARKI – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.

GOTTA LOVE DARCI – App. S. Fawke was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in near the 1200m, tightening the running of another runner.

REQUIREMENT – Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 1200m.

LITTLE BIT DITSY – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to run. Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and brushed another runner.

Race 8: TOYOTA FLEET NORTHERN BM75 H’CAP - 1650m

SATIRICAL LASS – Shifted out on jumping and made contact with another runner. Tightened for room and had to be checked close to the finishing line. Apprentice S. Payne, the rider of THE THOMAS AFFAIR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that over the concluding stages he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SATIRICAL LASS. Apprentice Payne’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings, with the term to commence at midnight on Saturday 8 November and expire at midnight on Friday 21 November 2014.

CRUZ BY – Raced wide without cover from the 800m.

MOON AND THE STARS – Hampered at the start.

JUPITER PALM – Lost its off hind plate in running.
