Race 1: Coca Cola Amatil QTIS 2yo Colts and Geldings Plate – 1050m
CASH DASH – Trainer S. Jones was fined $200 for failing to notify the addition of blinkers to the gear of the horse. Commenced to pull hard after leaving the 800m. Jockey J. Morris reported his mount was reluctant to stretch out when pressured in the home straight and, in his opinion, felt shin sore. A post race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be shin sore.
DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, hampering another runner. Raced greenly in the middle stages and shifted ground on 2 occasions in the home straight.
UNCANNY REASON – Forced wider on the track shortly after the start by another runner. A post race veterinary examination of the horse which finished a distant last revealed the gelding to be shin sore.
PUNISHING – Raced greenly in the middle stages.
DIETERS – Jockey D. Griffin will be interviewed regarding his use of the whip on the colt.
Race 2: Coca Cola Life QTIS 2yo Fillies Plate – 1050m
RARE OCCURRENCE – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identification Card for the horse. Shifted in after leaving the 900m and brushed another runner. Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 200m.
DANGEROUS DESIRE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the middle stages.
DEEP HARBOUR – Jumped away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished tailed off, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
KATYUSHA – Had to be steadied form heels near the 900m. Raced wide without cover after leaving the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from heat stress.
MISHANI BELIEVER – Steadied near the 900m when tightened for room.
FALLEN FOR YOU – Jockey B. Stewart reported the filly raced very greenly in the early stages and as result lost considerable ground. Jockey Stewart was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m in a forehand manner.
Race 3: Coke Zero Open H'cap – 1050m
GOLD BUTTONS – Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
ARCHITECT – Slow to begin.
SIMPLY SMART – Bumped on jumping away.
MOUNT KOSCIUSZKO – Disappointed for clear running after passing the 200m and had to be steadied, and then had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
SEEKING MORE – Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 4: Canadian Club QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1600m
MONACO PLAYBOY – Bumped shortly after the start.
I’M BELUCCI – Slow to begin. Pulled hard in the early stages. Steadied to avoid heels after leaving the 1000m and shifted out abruptly.
SENTIMENTAL PRINCE – Pulled hard in the early stages. Continued to pull hard after leaving the 1200m and shifted out. Tightened for room near the 700m and became unbalanced.
REAL EGO – Taken wider on the track after leaving the 1200m.
WALWA – Steadied to avoid heels near the 1000m.
LADY ATHENA – Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 900m.
MANROSE HATTAN – Shifted in momentarily tightening another runner to the inside near the 700m.
FAVULOUS FLOYD – Shifted in and bumped another runner near the 600m. Raced wide throughout the race.
REAL NAUGHTY – Bumped near the 600m.
ASHLEE MARIE – Forced wider on the track after leaving the 600m.
TARBERT – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 250m.
Race 5: Jim Beam F&M NMW H'cap – 1350m
DANISH TWIST – Slow to begin. Shifted out abruptly making the home turn.
MOON SYMBOL – Slow to begin.
GAME OF FAME – Pulled hard in the early stages.
HONEY HOLT – Raced ungenerously after leaving the 1100m.
DYSFUNCTION – Raced wide in the early stages.
SISTER EMMA – Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200m.
OCEANTES – Raced wide without cover. Lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 6: Cascade CG&E NMW H'cap – 1300m
TRIPLE JEOPARDY – Knuckled on jumping away and lost ground. Raced wide in the middle stages.
STONECAST – Raced wide in the middle stages.
THREE BEERS PLEASE – Raced wide in the middle stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections advised that the gelding will now be spelled.
CONQUER – Had to be steadied to avoid heels when overracing near the 700m. B. Stewart, rider of TRUBIA, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in at this stage when not fully clear.
SENGLEA SUN – Hung out rounding the home turn.
NOZAWA – Jockey M. Cahill reported at scale that his mount was reluctant to race inside other runners.
TRUBIA – Jockey B. Stewart was reprimanded for using his whip in for one consequtive stride in the straight.
CASINO BENJO – Lost its off hind plate in running.
Race 7: Mount Franklin Open H'cap – 1600m m
CANNY BALLAD – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The gelding subsequently progressed forward in a 3 deep position and raced near the lead 3 wide.
LAUTERBRUNNEN – Jockey G. Colless reported at scale that his saddle shifted shortly after the start and bounded on a few occasions.
AMEXED – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied from heels shortly after the start.
FERMENT – Held up for clear running after passing the 200m and until near the 100m.
Race 8: Sprite Class 6 H'cap – 1200m
FLAMBOYER – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.13 am.
NICKY NOCKY – Slow to begin. Held up from the 250 to the 100m.
GRAYSON SQUARE – Tightened for room near the 1000m. Disappointed for clear running near the 200m and obliged to alter course to obtain clear running.
FIRE WITHIN – Shifted out away from heels near the 700m.
PRIMAL FLIGHT – Hung in under pressure in the straight. Raced wide without cover.
LAST SIGHT – Raced wide.
DIVINE SERVICE – Apprentice M. McGillivray reported his mount travelled well until the home turn and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding.
JACK’S JET – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount did not appreciate the firm track conditions today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
I AM BOSS – Trainer T. Sears was questioned regarding the improved performance. He stated that the gelding appreciated the firm track conditions today and it was now his intention to spell the gelding.
