Race 1: Hamilton Hotel Maiden Plate – 2060m

SAGA MISS – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Hellyer reported he could not improve into the race after leaving the 600m when he would have liked and as a result was left flatfooted after entering the home straight and was of the view that the performance was not entirely disappointing. Jockey Hellyer was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

PADLOT – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

HOAGY – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 200m.

DUKE OF STAGHURST – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide from the 700m.

REGULARITY – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to a position in the lead passing the 1000m.

DOG DAYS ARE OVER – After overracing in the early stages was ridden forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1000m.

SCARLET POET – Held up for clear running from approaching the 400m until leaving the 150m.

NOTHING VENTURED – Apprentice B. Appo was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 2: Platinum Electrical & Air Maiden H'cap – 1350m

O’LYNCH – Tightened for room at the start.

SKY HEART – Slow to begin.

MOOLAMOON – Blundered on jumping away.

FASTQUEST – Overraced in the early stages and when the pace slackened approaching the 800m had to be checked and lost significant ground.

PROMISCUOUS – When the pace slackened approaching the 800m commenced to overrace and was steadied from heels.

DE LAGO JET - Overraced passing the 800m and when restrained from heels shifted out and made contact with another runner. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos reported the horse returned to the enclosure with its tongue over the bit.

CALL ME RINGO – Bumped by another runner and forced wider at the 800m and was obliged to race wide throughout.

GO ON RED – Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight and made contact with another runner and became unbalanced on a number of occasions.

CHELSEA STAR – Bumped by another runner in the early stages of the home straight and became unbalanced for a short distance. A post race veterinary examination galloped on on the off hind and had a laceration to the canon.

MANDRYKA – After passing the 200m was obliged to alter course to secure clear running.

GLOBAL GURU – Raced wide throughout.

ARRABIATO – Raced wide throughout and returned to scale with blood in its mouth. A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both cheeks.








Race 3: T & G Insurance Brokers QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate - 1050m

TOOKA TOOKA – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout and hung out from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards advised trainer K. Schweida that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners. Mr Schweida indicated he would now consider sending the filly for a spell.

SOLITARY ROSE – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. When shifting out to obtain clear running after leaving the 300m raced greenly for a short distance and became unbalanced.

ONE GOLDEN DAY – Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey B. Stewart was dislodged from his mount on pulling up. Jockey Stewart was examined by the doctor and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.


Race 4: Nuturf & Partners QTIS 2-YO Maiden Plate – 1050m

ROYAL TITHE – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3.22 pm after rearing up behind the barriers dislodging its rider and making heavy contact with the running rail. All monies invested on Royal Tithe were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

LADY SOLERNO – Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied. Overraced in the early stages and had to be steadied at the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

MISHANI SHIRAZ – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination of the horse which pulled up quickly following the race failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

HIDDEN SEQUEL – Laid out under pressure and made contact with another runner at a point near the 200m.

BALANCING ACT – Bumped by another runner near the 200m and shifted wider on the track.

O’REILLY CYRUS – Raced wide without cover throughout.






Race 5: Direct Insurance Brokers Class 1 H'cap – 1660m

KAITLIN COVE – After being caught wide in the early stages was ridden forward and took up a position outside the lead near the 1000m. Jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount was under pressure after leaving the 600m and, in his opinion, was very disappointing.

HARADIFY – After leaving the 600m shifted out to improve and was disappointed and as a result had to be steadied.

WITCHES LUCK – Held up for a short distance passing the 400m and again after leaving the 300m.

ISTALENA – Had to be steadied and was obliged to alter course after passing the 300m.

HENRYVONHUFEISEN – Apprentice S. Eilbeck reported at no stage did her mount travel comfortably. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in both forelegs. Trainer G. Duncan was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.


Race 6: Future Racing Network F& M Class 3 H'cap – 1350m

MAGAZINE MISS – Slow to begin.

CASTANITA – Slow to begin. Placed in restricted room and was held up at the heels of another runner when rounding the home turn. Jockey J. Byrne, rider of DUCHESS MOLLY, pleaded guilty of a charge of careless riding in that after entering the home straight and obtaining a run to the outside of HEART COMMAND, he continued to shift out under pressure and failed to stop riding and straighten when there was opportunity to do so, which resulted in CASTANITA being tightened for room and taken out across the heels of JE SUIS PREST and having to checked to avoid heels near the 300m. J. Byrne was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 12 days to commence at midnight, 12 December and to expire at midnight, 24 December.

KOLONGA – Improved onto heels after passing the 600m and had to be checked and shift wider on the track.

DANSOLEI – Raced wide after leaving the 700m.

DUCHESS MOLLY - Disappointed for clear running after leaving the 300m between runners and was then held up for clear running and went to the line without being fully tested.

IN THE MOMENT – Raced wide.

SECRET PROCESS – Raced wide without cover.






Race 7: WWW.BRC.COM.AU C,G&E Class 3 H'cap 1350m

UMGENI – Apprentice T. Wolfgram was dislodged en route the barriers and the gelding galloped a considerable distance. UMGENI was declared a late scratching at 5.16 pm, and all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

DON’T DENY US – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Hellyer was reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

BOLD ATTRACTION – Had to be checked near the 800m when tightened for room between LEGENDARY LUKE, which shifted out slightly, and RED CLAW, which after having shifted in was forced in further by IT’S VEGAS BABY. Jockey B. Pengelly, rider of IT’S VEGAS BABY, was reprimanded for shifting in when not fully clear. In issuing a reprimand, stewards were of the view that B. Pengelly could not be held entirely responsible for this incident. Restrained from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 600m. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and again held up for short distance passing the 100m.

MOUNT PERRY – Raced 3 wide without cover.

PERCULES – Raced wide.

RED CLAW – Jockey B. Stewart was reprimanded for using his whip 7 times prior to the 100m.


Race 8: Sky Thoroughbred Central Class 1 H'cap – 1200m

SANGUINE RED – Slow to begin.

MARTIAL ART – Slow to begin.

PROUD VAL – Steadied when tightened for room near the 1100m, and then overraced approaching the 800m and had to be checked from heels and shifted wider on the track.
