RACE 1: QUEENSLAND ELECTRICAL BM85 H’CAP – 2220M

RANKED – Held up rounding the home turn.

WALHAAN – G. Colless was questioned regarding his tactics and the performance of the horse. He stated that he had concerns with the way in which the gelding was travelling near the 1300m and from the 600m he elected to follow TORBAY through rather than shift around LEGSMAN and race wide. He added that WALHAAN did not stretch out in the straight and on pulling up he felt there was something amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short-striding in both forelegs. A swab sample was taken.

CAILLEBOTTE – Had to be checked away from the heels of a tiring runner near the 400m.

LEGSMAN – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 2: SQS HAULAGE QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1050M

After viewing the stewards patrol footage, the connections of NICCONI LEGGERA, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against OINK being declared the winner, alleging interference near the finishing line. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the official videos, stewards established that although OINK did shift ground inwards over the concluding stages and made contact with NICCONI LEGGERA, the point of contact was after the finishing line and therefore the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.

OINK – Bumped shortly after entering the straight.

TWO SHOES – Forced wider on the track passing the 600m.

HE’S FOR REAL – Bumped near the 600m.

I’M A RIPPA – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 600m and bumped another runner. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

RARE OCCURRENCE – Slow to begin.

REAL CLASSIC – Jumped awkwardly. Attempted to improve to the outside of heels shortly after entering the straight but was prevented from doing so by another runner.

PEGAPUS – Shifted out after leaving the 600m when being steadied off heels.

HUSSON BOOTS – Commenced to overrace after being crossed by NICCONI LEGGERA passing the 800m and continued to do so for some distance.

SONADOR FIRE – Had to be steadied away from heels at the 600m.

RACE 3: LILIVALE STUD ENDLESS MAIZE BM85 H’CAP – 1200M

PRIMAL FLIGHT – Bumped on jumping.

DECONSTRUCTED – Slow to begin.

DREAM OF SLIPS – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight and near the 100m was brushed by another runner.

STORM CRAZY – Jumped awkwardly.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.

RACE 4: 125KG GRASS FED DAVE MARRIOTT STEAKS CLASS 6 PLATE – 1640M

YOUWAITANDSEE – Slow to begin. Apprentice B. Appo was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts right to the finishing line.

AWESOME SIGHT – Pulled hard in the early stages and was unable to be restrained until near the 900m.

RACE 5: ADRENALINETHOROUGHBREDS.COM.AU QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1050M

BLUEBERRY HILL – Held up rounding the home turn.

AROUND THE MOON – Bumped on two occasions shortly after the start.

DIVINE CENTURI – Jumped awkwardly and then shifted in abruptly and made contact with another runner on two occasions.

ALL TROOPS – Jumped awkwardly.

RACE 6: SECUTOR SECURITIES QTIS 3YO FILLIES H’CAP – 1350M

The start of this race was delayed when FLEUR D’ORAGE required farrier attention.

LADY NO MORE – Slow to begin.

RAINBOW LACE – Commenced to hang out after leaving the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have jarred up in both forelegs. Trainer H. Norman indicated that the filly will now be sent for an immediate spell.

THE WANTED CLUB – Jumped awkwardly. Clipped heels and blundered near the 1000m. Raced wide without cover.

ZERO TOLERANCE – Connections advised that from the wide barrier it would be the intention to have the horse ridden back in the field. The horse was ridden accordingly.

MYSTIC OPAL – Commenced to overrace after leaving the 900m and had to be steadied away from heels.

As G. Colless was stood down by the Club doctor following this event, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

RACE 7: QPOS OPEN H’CAP – 1350M

JETSET LAD – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight when JUST A PERLA laid in under pressure.

KURTLEY – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

KEMPELLY – N. Tomizawa was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions, one of which was in consecutive strides, prior to the 100m.

JUST A PERLA – When questioned regarding his reason for not obtaining the leading position passing the 800m, A. Allen advised that he was instructed to lead as per the horse’s customary racing pattern, however as a result of his mount laying in, along with the appearance of CHARIOT OF GOLD wishing to maintain the position to his inside, he was unable to cross and lead. The explanation was noted.

Stewards permitted R. Wiggins to ride BASIC STRATEGY 1.5kg over the horse’s allocated weight when he was the only rider available.
