Race 1: 97.3 FM Phelan Ready Stakes 2yo C&G Listed – 1110m

The start was delayed when the barriers had to be repositioned at the 1110m start.

OURS TO KEEP – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out and made contact with another runner.

DREAM WILDER – Bumped on jumping away.

ARRESTAR – Jumped away awkwardly. Steadied form heels and shifted out near the 900m.

LUNA MISSILE – Shortly after the start shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner and became unbalanced. Had to be checked away from heels near the 900m.

SO INVINCIBLE – Shortly after the start was bumped heavily.

DESPATCH – Shifted in and had to be steadied away from heels near the 800m. Shifted in abruptly after passing the 600m despite the efforts of its rider.

SAXTON ROCK – Had to be steadied away from heels after passing the 600m.




Race 2: International Interior Images Calaway Gal Stakes – 1110m

COOL MOVER – Became restless in the barriers and was slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Again held up from the 300m until inside the 200m.

ASK AUDRRY – Hung out approaching the home turn.

REAL PRINCESS – Had to be steadied near the 300m when tightened for room between runners, and then had difficulty obtaining clear running until after leaving the 100m.

MAKE MY OWN LUCK – Shifted ground under pressure over the final stages. Raced wide without cover.

DREAM KISSES – Lost its near fore plate in running.

Race 3: Delfina’s Bistro Gold Edition Plate 3yo – 1200m

GOLD DENARI – Slow to begin.

DEEP IMAGE – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied away from heels near the 1100m.

BELOSO – Had to be checked from the heels of a tiring runner approaching the home turn.

ANOTHER SLIPPER – Raced wide throughout without cover.

OUR BEEBEE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Race 4: DF Interiors Class 3 Plate – 1350m

ONEMOREGYPSY – Blundered at the start, almost dislodging its rider. Jockey Poland regained her near-side iron near the 1300m. When the pace steadied after leaving the 1000m had to be restrained off heels.

LUXURY – Slow to begin.

HESITATION – Slow to begin.

DOUBT DEFYING - After passing the 1000m got its head up when being restrained and then continued to race ungenerously for some distance.

EL GRECO – When the pace steadied after leaving the 1000m had to be restrained off heels.

LADY DUPORTH – Shifted out to improve leaving the 300m and made contact with another runner.

DEITCH – Bumped near the 300m.

EXPAT ENVY – Raced wide without cover.

DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE – Raced wide.
Race 5: PPS Tailored Furniture Solutions Brisbane H’cap – 1600m

CYLINDER BEACH – Slow to begin.

FELTRE – Raced wide in the early stages and allowed to stride forward to a position near the lead at the 1000m.


Race 6: JF Construction Quality H’cap – 2000m

BLUE LION – Trainer P. H. Duncan was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Raced wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the lead near the 1200m.

ANNAMAN – When the pace steadied after leaving the 1200m, rider J. Byrne elected to push forward and then raced wide without cover from that point.

ANTON EN AVANT – Had to be steadied from heels near the 1000m.

LA SPIAGGIA – Pulled hard in the middle stages.

DREAM FINISH – Raced wide throughout and near the 800m was eased out of the event. Jockey J. Lloyd reported that with the slow pace the mare travelled reasonably well, however he felt something was amiss with its action approaching the 800m and as a result he eased it out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination reveal the horse was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse must undergo an ECG, and also must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

SAGA MISS – Jockey N. Day advised that his mount travelled well, however when placed under pressure only responded fairly to his efforts and, in his opinion, may have got its tongue over the bit. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections advised that the mare would now be spelled.

VOLKHERE – Connections advised that the gelding would now be spelled.


Race 7: Lexy Group Lough Neagh Stakes – 1350m

COOLRING – Bumped shortly after the start. Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale that, in his opinion, was not suited on the firm track today.

FLAMBOYER – Jumped away awkwardly.

NINTH LEGION – Raced wide without cover.




Race 8: South Pacific Laundry Bribie H’cap – 1050m

SPORTING PAGE – After riding in Race 2, R. Plumb became indisposed and was replaced by B. Grylls.

UPSTART PRIDE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Then bumped heavily shortly after the start by another runner. Raced wide without cover.

YOHO – Jockey L. Tarrant lost his whip at the 100m.

THE STOREMAN – Raced wide without cover.



ROCKET TO GLORY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover. Returned to the enclosure having lost both front plates. Following the race Trainer Mr Gollan reported the gelding bled from both nostrils when it returned to its horse stall. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding has bled, it will now incur a life-time bar from racing.

CASUAL CHOICE – Lost its near fore plate at the start.
