Carey Race 1: Sky Thoroughbred Central QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1200m MISPRINT – Slow into stride and then was crowded for room shortly after the start. CITRAIN – Hung out on the turn. Race 2: Girls Day Out Race Day Maiden H’cap – 1350m ABERLADY – Stumbled on jumping away and shifted out abruptly. Laid out on the bend. A post race veterinary examination revealed a near-side eye injury. REAL PINK – Slow into stride. Race 3: Hamilton Hotel Maiden H’cap – 1640m GRUINARD BAY – Slow to begin. LUJAC – The saddle on the gelding shifted back shortly after the start, placing its rider at a distinct disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Apprentice Brooker said because of this incident at the start she had to allow her mount when caught wide in the early stages to stride forward and cross to the lead. Race 4: Relaxed Racing Class 3 H’cap – 1640m SHOTACROSSTHEBOW – Raced 3 wide in the early and middle stages and overraced badly. When commencing to give ground on the home turn was bumped and then steadied when crowded slightly. A post race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress. Race 5: Sponsorship@brc.com.au Class 5 H'cap – 1350m SECRET PUZZLE – Overraced in the middle stages. Race 6: Trackside Cinema F&M Class 3 H'cap – 1110m START DREAMIN – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and did so for a considerable distance, resulting in the mare taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer P. Butterworth explained that after the race his view was that the mare may have had some slight muscle soreness in the off side girth region. He undertook to report any significant findings that become apparent in the ensuing days. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer P. Butterworth was advised that the mare would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial, and a veterinary clearance must be produced prior before being permitted to start again. FRENCH CONCESSION – Steadied when disappointed for a run near the 200m. SO SERENE – Jockey J. Lloyd reported the filly changed strides on a number of occasions throughout the event. Race 7: www.brc.com.au CG&E Class 3 H'cap - 1110m OH BOY – After standing awkwardly in its stall, then bounded as the gates were released. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, jockey J. Lloyd advised that the horse was slow to begin and he was obliged to settle at the rear of the field, which was contrary to the horse’s normal racing pattern. He added from that point the gelding dropped the bit and never travelled comfortably throughout. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. GREGORY – Slow into stride. KOOROC – Slow to begin. SKANDA – Laid in and proved difficult to ride out in the straight. Raced 3 wide without cover. Race 8: Superhero Saturday Class 1 H'cap – 1350m DAMN FINE – After standing awkwardly in the barriers was slow into stride. Inconvenienced when awkwardly placed close to heels just prior to straightening. NELUMBO – Slow to begin. MEADOW – Began awkwardly. DAME VAN WINKLE – Inconvenienced and carried wider just prior to straightening. TEMUJIN’S MOON – Jockey J. Lloyd reported the horse was disappointing in the home straight and did make an abnormal respiratory noise. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
