Carey GENERAL Due to the cancellation of an interstate meeting, all races were rescheduled as follows: Race 1. 12.55 pm, Race 2. 1.35pm, Race 3. 2.10 pm, Race 4. 2.45pm, Race 5. 3.25 pm, Race 6. 4.05pm, Race 7. 4.45 pm, Race 8. 5.27pm _____________________________ Race 1: Blokes Day Out CG&E Class 4 H’cap – 1050m ALL TROOPS – Bounded when the gates were released and lost ground. ROGER THAT – Cast its off fore plate during the running of the race. WIGGLESWORTH – A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore canon. Race 2: Veuve Society Membership F&M Class 4 H’cap – 1050m TYPECAST – Which was fractious in the stalls then bounded when the gates were released. Then in the early stages raced ungenerously and got its head up. STICK WITH ME – Slow into stride. Race 3: Sky Thoroughbred Central Maiden Plate – 1050m PRIMAL TOUCH – Caught 3 wide in the early stages and allowed to stride forward by its rider and eventually raced outside the lead at the 1000m. Race 4: Racezone Class 2 H’cap - 1630m MAKURU – Change of tactics – Connections advised that the mare would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse subsequently settled midfield. GOOD INTENTIONS – Apprentice M. Murphy explained that approaching the 200m he was disappointed for clear running and therefore he had to shift out to find clear running. M. Murphy was reminded of his obligations to fully test his mounts when he has clear running. PINOLINO – Jockey J. Orman dropped his whip after the 200m. Race 5: Gallopers Sports Club Maiden H’cap – 1200m CLEVER BLAZE – Slow into stride. CRYING CHEETAH – Began awkwardly and then shortly after was checked when crowded for room. Overraced approaching the first turn. ASTRO SPIRIT – Inclined to overrace and hung out making the first turn. SKYSCRAPER – Apprentice M. Murphy dropped his whip approaching the finish line. Race 6: Weddings At BRC QTIS 3yo Class 1 Plate – 1050m FAIRY DANCER – As J. Orman was to be overweight, A. Allen was substituted as the rider of the horse. J. Orman was fined $200. STYLIAN – Slow into stride. Momentarily crowded after the 700m. IGNITE THE LIGHT – Apprentice A. Fancourt reported that from the awkward draw she had to ride her mount forward in the early stages to cross runners to her inside and after doing so when she endeavoured to steady in front, the gelding overraced badly despite her efforts, proved difficult to settle and as a consequence compounded over the concluding stages. REININO – Apprentice Q. Krogh reported his mount did not show its usual gate speed as it had previously in Rockhampton, and that when placed under pressure passing the 600m failed to respond and, in his opinion, was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance must be provided. Connections advised that the horse would be sent for a spell IRON CRAFT – Cast its off fore plate in running. Race 7: www.BRC.com.au Class 5 H’cap – 1050m ROCBOLT - Trainer B. Laming was fined $100 for incorrectly declaring A. Spinks as the rider of ROCBOLT when not properly engaged. DREAM SPEED – Began very awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from heat stress. I FEEL GOOD – Began very awkwardly. ROYAL ROULETTE – Raced 3 wide without cover. Race 8: Join Our Stable Class 3 Plate – 1200m BABBIO – Slow into stride. DOUBT SHE’S A LADY – Slow into stride. FINAL OVER – Overraced approaching the first turn. Held up rounding the turn and in the early part of the home straight, and was then accidentally struck by the whip of L. Cassidy near the 200m, and then was checked and shift out to avoid the heels of KAPGUN near the 150m. Consequently was unable to be fully tested in the straight.
