Stewards were advised of a possible security breach of the on-course stables at Eagle Farm at 5.30 pm, Friday, 9 June 2017. Subsequently runners located in the relevant stables racing at meetings today were examined by QRIC veterinarians and cleared to start.
Race 1: James Boag’s Premium Daybreak Lover 1200m
CALANDA – On arrival at the course was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Had to be steadied away from heels near the 800m.
I’M A RIPPA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
RINGO’S A ROCKSTAR - Approaching the first turn commenced to overrace and had to be restrained from heels. Continued to overrace for some distance thereafter and near the 600m shifted in, tightening another runner.
DIVINE DICE – Had to be restrained form heels near the 800m. Checked near the 600m when tightened for room by RINGO’S ROCKSTAR. Bumped by another runner inside the 100m.
TACTICAL ADVANTAGE – Held up from the entrance to the straight until after leaving the 100m and shifted in, bumping another runner. Lost its off hind plate in running.
HEROIC VALOUR – Raced wide without cover. Jockey O. Bosson became ill after riding in Race 1 and was stood down from his remaining engagements. Riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet
CHALK – Raced wide without cover.
DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE – Raced wide.
HONOUR’N’STRENGTH – A post race veterinary examination revealed a slight pulse in the off fore hoof.
Race 2: Makers Mark Hinkler H'cap – 1200m
LE CHEF – Blundered shortly after the start and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
SOLDI DOMANI – Steadied from heels passing the 850m. Held up from the entrance to the straight and did not secure clear running for the remainder of the event.
SONY LEGEND – Steadied passing the 800m. Held up from the entrance to the straight until the 100m.
JIMMY REA – Raced in restricted room near the 600m, then held up for clear running until after entering the home straight.
NANCY – Held up in the straight until the concluding stages.
MISS COVER GIRL – Held up in the straight until inside the 100m.
IRISH CONSTABULARY – Held up from the entrance to the straight until the 100m.
MOGADOR – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
QUATRONIC – Raced wide without cover.
TOP TONE – Raced wide.
Race 3: Radiotab The Wayne Wilson 3yo & Up Listed – 1600m
The start of this race was delayed due to a malfunction of the starting mechanism.
RELIGIFY – Jockey H. Bowman reported at scale that, in his opinion, the reason for the disappointing performance at its previous start was the prevailing track conditions.
Race 4: Bundaberg Rum Dane ripper Stakes – 1350m
SOLD FOR SONG – Change of tactics. To be ridden back in the field. The horse was ridden accordingly.
FRENCH EMOTION – Jumped away awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
SAGARONNE – Jumped away awkwardly. Had to be restrained from heels after leaving the 600m and attempted to shift out, however was prevented from doing so by runners to his outside.
SMART AMELIA – After racing wide early was ridden forward to obtain a position closer to the fence.
TURBO MISS – After leaving the 900m was steadied away from heels.
EXTENSIBLE – Pulled hard after passing the 800m and had to be restrained off heels. Laid out in the early stages of the straight.
SERENE MAJESTY - Had to be steadied form heels near the 200m. Raced wide.
PIERATA – Raced wide without cover.
MADOTTI – Raced wide.
Race 5: Ascot Green Queensland Guineas 3yo Group 2 – 1600m
NICCANOVA – Examined by the veterinary surgeon after being kicked in the enclosure and cleared to start. Again examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and cleared to start. Held up rounding the home turn.
REALING - Examined by the veterinary surgeon after being kicked behind the barriers and was cleared to start.
DREAMS APLENTY – Raced wide in the early stages until near the 1000m, at which stage it was able to obtain a position in the lead.
CAERLESS CHOICE – Held up rounding the home turn and for the majority of the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
SAVVAN – Held up rounding the home turn. Held up in the home straight and did not obtain clear running.
SYLPHEED – Held up rounding the home turn.
LIPSTICK LOVER – Held up rounding the home turn.
RIVER RACER – Held up in the straight until the 100m.
OINK – Bumped near the 100m.
TOP OF THE RANGE – Bumped approaching the 100m.
BILLY THE KID – Raced wide without cover.
RHYMING – Raced wide and bumped near the 100m.
CONGELATOR – Checked near the 1400m. Jockey P. Hammersley, rider of OINK, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 1400m when not fully clear of CONGELATOR, which had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room between OINK and BILLY THE KID. Jockey Hammersley was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, 17 June and to expire at midnight, 27 June. Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: BMW J.J. Atkins 2yo Group 1 – 1600m
SILKY BROWN – As T. Agland was to be overweight, L. Cassidy was substituted as the rider of the horse. T. Agland was fined $200. Shifted in slightly near the 1300m and bumped another runner.
CAPITAL GAIN – Checked shortly after the start. Subsequently raced wide.
EMINENT – Change of tactics. To be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Bumped near the 300m.
UP TRUMPZ – Change of tactics. To be ridden off the pace if circumstances permit. Subsequently raced wide without cover. Trainer J. Cleary advised the gelding would be sent for an immediate spell.
MISHANI BULLITT – Shifted in at the start, tightening runners to its inside. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
TAKING AIM – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the track and cleared to race. Raced wide.
MELODY BELLE – Shifted out and bumped another runner nearing the 300m. Jockey D. Lane reported that with the addition of blinkers today the filly overraced in the early and middle stages and for this reason he did not believe it ran out a strong mile. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
PIERATA – Jumped away awkwardly. Bumped near the 1300m. Held up rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had been stripped on the off hindleg. Trainer G. Hickman advised that the colt would now be spelled.
LORD CECIL – Jumped away awkwardly.
ALOISIA – Tightened shortly after the start. Bumped by another runner near the 1400m. Obliged to steady at the 1300m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
MAGNUFIGHTER – Checked shortly after the start.
CHARLIE CHAP – Held up rounding the home turn.
Race 7: Channel Seven Queensland Derby 3yo Group 1 – 2200m
The start of this race was delayed when WU GOK cast its near fore plate during the preliminary and had to be replated behind the barriers.
FONTEIN LAD – Began awkwardly. Near the 600m had to be checked away from the heels of a tiring runner and shifted out.
VOLATILE MIX – Shifted in and bumped the running rail near the 1600m and became unbalanced. Near the 600m had to be checked away from the heels of a tiring runner and shifted out.
SIZZLING BULLET – Hampered near the 600m when a runner shifted out on its inside.
MONASTERIO - Hampered near the 600m when a runner shifted out on its inside.
BLACK ON GOLD – Had to be checked off heels near the 1600m.
DAZZLE EM SID – Raced wide in the early stages.
SHOCKING LUCK – Tightened for room near the 200m and made contact with a runner on its inside. Jockey D. Browne and trainer J. Richards were unable to offer any tangible explanation for the poor performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
MONGOLIAN WOLF - Bumped inside the 200m.
HERE HE COMES – Jockey L. Innes was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m and 5 times from the 100m to the winning post.
Race 8: UBET Stradbroke H’cap – 1350m
IMPENDING – Trainer D. Beadman reported this morning the horse had shifted its near fore plate yesterday evening, which required farrier attention. Subsequently the stable veterinarian inspected the horse and passed it to race. On arrival at the track the horse was again examined the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to race. Bumped near the 800m. Raced wide with cover.
COUNTERATTACK – Slow to begin. Held up upon straightening.
HOOKED – Slow to begin. Raced wide.
JUNGLE EDGE – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey K. Forrester advised the horse did not appreciate the firm track today and, in his view, has come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
MACINTOSH – When questioned trainer C. Waller advised stewards that he had no concerns with the gelding’s soundness leading into today’s race. The gelding was examined by the veterinary examination upon arriving on course and was cleared to start. Bumped when crowded for room near the 800m.
KAEPERNICK – Began awkwardly. Jockey L. Inness, rider of COUNTERATTACK, was charged with careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift out near the 300m when not clear of KAEPERNICK, resulting in KAEPERNICK being taken out towards the heels of ULMANN (L. Nolan) and having to be checked. As P. Maloney, rider of KAEPERNICK, had left the course without permission after being advised he had to attend an inquiry, the matter was adjourned. Racing Victorian stewards were notified P. Moloney is stood down from riding in races until such time as he attends an inquiry.
EGYPTIAN SYMBOL – Overraced in the early and middle stages and was steadied from heels on a number of occasions.
GOLD SYMPHONY – Had to be steadied approaching the 800m and had to be steadied when forced to race in restricted room and shifted out, bumping IMPENDING. Raced wide.
ULMANN – Near the 800m had to be eased when tightened for room between HOPFGARTEN and GOOD PROJECT, which was taken in by BURNING FRONT. B. Allen, rider of BURNING FRONT, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear. Then checked again over the concluding stages. T. Berry, rider of GOOD PROJECT, pleaded guilty to a charge of carless riding in that over the concluding stages he permitted his mount shift ground under pressure when not clear of ULMANN, resulting in that horse being checked between GOOD PROJECT and EGYPTIAN SYMBOL. T. Berry was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 12 days, to commence at midnight, 17 June and to expire at midnight, 29 June.

Race 9: Evergreen Turf Brisbane Cup – 2200m
MORENDI – Stewards accepted the explanation for M. Cahill replacing P. Moloney as the rider of the horse.
NEVERLAND – Began awkwardly. Had to be checked at the 1600m away from heels, and continued to overrace for some distance thereafter.
KAISER FRANZ – Approaching the winning post the first time when steadying commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out and inconvenienced another runner. Continued to race ungenerously and had to be shifted away from heels near the 1500m.
GRAND DREAMER – Approaching the 1600m shifted out and had to be checked away from heels.
SELF SENSE - Had to be checked at the 1600m away from heels. Shifted in near the 1500m and brushed the running rail.
RUDY - Had to be checked at the 1600m away from heels. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
MY DAIMANTINE – Raced wide without cover in the middle stages.
CHOCANTE – Jockey J. Byrne reported at scale that, in his opinion, the reason for the improved performance was that the gelding did not handle the track conditions at Eagle Farm at its previous start.
