Edmonds was fined $100 for failing to produce the Thoroughbred Identification Card for ROCK DE VEGA. GENERAL Due to the downgrade of the track to HEAVY 10, stewards acceded to trainers’ requests to scratch, as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: RACING COLLEGE QUEENSLAND C,G&E CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1110M RETURN ON EQUITY – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding cast the off fore plate in running and overreached on the near fore heel. Race 2: RACING QUEENSLAND UPSKILLING INDUSTRY F&M CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1110M HIRTSHALS – Apprentice A. Fancourt reported that her mount failed to handle the track conditions today. MYSTIC MOON – J. Lloyd reported following the event that his mount got its head to the side just prior to the start being effected, which resulted in the mare missing the start. He added that MYSTIC MOON did not handle the track conditions today. Race 3: RACING QUEENSLAND EMPLOYEE HEALTH & WELLBEING QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M UBER MOVER – Shifted in and brushed the running rail near the 500m. AETHERIUS – Briefly tightened for room at the 800m. FISH 'N' SNITZ – Jumped awkwardly. SHEBRINGS VOICE – Hung out from the 800m. THE GREAT BOOMBINO – Bumped passing the 600m. M. Cahill reported that his mount did not handle today’s track conditions. BULLANG – L. Tilley reported that his mount did not handle today’s track conditions. ROYAL YACHT – Bumped approaching the 800m and then had to be steadied away from heels. Again had to be steadied off heels after leaving the 800m. R. Fradd reported that his mount did not handle today’s track conditions. Race 4: ENJOY-INN HAMILTON F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M ABSTAIN – Jumped awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn. Lost the near fore plate in running. FLYING DEE JAY – Trainer C. Munce was fined $100 for failing to effect a gear change of cross-over nose band off and tongue tie off by the prescribed time. Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Q. Krogh reported that his mount, whilst it raced wide, failed to handle the track conditions today. MISS POWDER KEG – Jumped awkwardly and then was hampered shortly after the start by another runner which shifted out. J. Lloyd reported that his mount overraced in the early stages and had to be restrained off heels. SHE’S UP BEAT – A. Allen accidentally dropped his whip near the 300m. TOORAK COMEDY – M. Hellyer accidentally dropped his whip near the 50m. Race 5: QUEST ASCOT C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M GUACAMOLE – Bumped shortly after the start. LUJAC – Had to steady away from heels shortly after the start. Blundered badly near the 550m. ROK’N’UNDATHESTARS – Trainer B. Currie was fined $100 for failing to effect a gear change of tongue tie on by the prescribed time. Improved quickly after being slow to begin and made contact with GUACAMOLE. Mr Currie was questioned following the event in relation to a complaint received by the stewards that when saddling the gelding he may have done something improper when fitting the tongue tie. Stewards inspected this piece of gear when the horse was presented to race and also following the event the gear was again inspected and nothing abnormal was observed. As the horse won the race, it was routinely swabbed. HIGH CHIEF – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100 for failing to effect a gear change of bubble cheeker nearside on by the prescribed time. MY BLUE THUNDER – Shifted in and away from another runner near the 1000m and put in a number of awkward strides. Following the running of this race stewards inspected a section of the track near the 550m and, after deeming it unsafe for racing, abandoned the remainder of the meeting.
