Race 1: WILPAK WHOLESALE MEATS BENCHMARK 95 H’CAP – 1200M
COOLRING – Raced wide throughout. Held up and unable to obtain clear running until the 100m.
PERFECT DARE – Raced wide without cover.
SADLER’S LAKE – Overraced after leaving the 800m. Accidentally hit over the head by the whip of J. Orman (STELLA OMBRA) approaching the 100m. Had to steady away from heels when taken out by another runner near the 100m.
STELLA OMBRA – Had to be steadied away from heels after leaving the 800m and again at the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn. J. Orman reported at scale that he had anticipated being more forward today, however his mount was hampered shortly after the start.
TISANI TOMSO – Raced wide without cover.
ECHO EFFECT – Raced wide without cover.
SONY LEGEND – Held up rounding the home turn. Lost the near hind plate in running.
TANGO RAIN – Rider C. Brown was asked to explain the horse’s disappointing performance. He said the gelding travelled well and when asked to quicken upon straightening did not respond to his riding and was disappointing.
ROUND MOUNTAIN GAL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had bled from both nostrils. Trainer P. Kimmet was advised that the horse will be ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to GOOD 3 retrospective.
Race 2: MULLINS LAWYERS GRAND PRIX STAKES – 2200M
MAHAMEDEIS – Began awkwardly.
DARK DREAM – Overraced near the 1500m and had to be steadied away from heels. Bumped on the hind quarters at the entrance to the straight. Lost the near fore plate in running.
HANG – Bumped near the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn. Lost the near fore plate in running.
CALIFORNIA TURBO – Raced wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to take up a position near the lead near the 1000m.
ALMIGHTY CROWN – After jumping awkwardly the gelding settled at the rear of the field. Shifted out abruptly making the home turn.
SO YOU WIN – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
NOTHING TOO HARD – Trainer P. Perry’s representative advised that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. The horse will be ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
TIME LORD – On return to scale D. Browne reported that he noticed there was blood in the horse’s mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bitten the end of its tongue.
HEAVENLY THOUGHT – Shifted out at the entrance to the straight and made contact with a runner to the outside. Lost its position near the 200m. D. Browne, the rider of TIME LORD, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that at that point he permitted his mount to shift in when not fully clear of HEAVENLY THOUGHT. D. Browne’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 10 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 2 June and expire at midnight on Tuesday 12 June 2018. In determining penalty, stewards believed that the interference was in the low range.
OMINECA – Trainer C. Waller advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room and was obliged to settle further back in the field. Became awkward on the heels of another runner near the 600m and shifted in, bumping another runner.
LUCKY JACKSON – Bumped at the entrance to the straight, shifted out and made contact with a runner to the outside.
EVOLO – Raced wide without cover throughout.
DELAGO EDITION – Trainer C. Waller advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
Race 3: CHANNEL SEVEN PREMIER’S CUP – 2200M
GALLIC CHIEFTAIN – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
INTERLOCUTER – Had to steady away from heels near the 1700m. Held up rounding the home turn.
KIWIA – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Held up rounding the home turn and then near the 300m was hampered when tightened for room.
MAURUS – Held up rounding the home turn and then had to alter course to obtain clear running in the straight.
MORENDI – Trainer D. McCabe advised that from the wide barrier and with the large field it would be the intention to have the horse ridden in a forward position. After racing wide in the early stages the horse was ridden forward and settled outside the lead near the 1400m.
NOZOMI – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
SEDANZER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
THE WILDFLOWER – Raced wide in the early stages, restrained and taken back to the rear of the field.
RISING RED – Lost the off fore plate in running.
AQUA VITE – Held up rounding the home turn.
MR EPIC – Raced wide without cover throughout.
ALL IN VOGUE – Had to be steadied and shifted out near the 300m to avoid the heels of AQUA VITE. P. Hammersley, the rider of AQUA VITE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift out at that point when not fully clear of ALL IN VOGUE. P. Hammersley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 2 June and expire at midnight on Monday 11 June 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that the interference was in the low range, as well as jockey Hammersley’s plea of guilt, his good riding record and the fact that it was a Group race.
LOVANI – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Race 4: PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES LORD MAYOR’S CUP – 1630M
FIRST CRUSH – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 1000m.
SHEISWHATSHEIS – J. Lloyd reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
NURSE KITCHEN – Raced wide throughout without cover.
RUUD NOT TOO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5: MITAVITE BRC SIRES’ PRODUCE STAKES – 1350M
The start of this race was delayed when ADORADIVA, which was fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 1:41 pm on veterinary advice. Trainer B. Lockwood was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for ADORADIVA prior to it racing again. A short time later GRAFF, which reared in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination which revealed the colt had sustained a laceration to the inside of the near fore knee. GRAFF was declared a late scratching at 1:41 pm.
On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on ADORADIVA and GRAFF be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 1:42 pm:

BLUE BOOK – Eased out of the event over the concluding stages. J. Lloyd advised stewards that BLUE BOOK did not feel comfortable in its action in the home straight and for this reason he eased the horse down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the near foreleg. Trainer K. Doughty was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
SIZZLING BELLE – Trainer N. Olive advised that he had given the rider no specific instructions other than to ride the filly where it is comfortable.
PLUMARO – Had to be severely checked leaving the 1000m to avoid a runner which blundered badly.
MISCHIEVOUSMARILYN – Blundered leaving the 1000m and was eased out of the event before dislodging jockey C. Williams. In this incident PLUMARO had to be severely checked to avoid MISCHIEVOUSMARILYN. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a fracture of the near foreleg and the horse was euthanased on humane grounds.
Following the running of this event, after jockey C. Williams expressed concerns regarding the section of the track near the 1000m, a number of jockeys, Club officials, track staff and stewards inspected that section of the track and as a result, after consultation with all concerned, it was agreed that a light roller be applied to that section and that the running rail be moved out a further 2 metres from the 1350m to the 800m. As a result of the time taken to move the rail, the starting times of further races were rescheduled as follows:
Race 6 - 3:39 pm
Race 7 – 4:07 pm
Race 8 – 4:30 pm
Race 9 – 4:50 pm
As a result of the movement of the rail outwards, the distances of Races 6, 7, 8 and 9 were approximate distances.
The track was downgraded to SOFT 6 at 2:40 pm.
Race 6: GLENLOGAN PARK STAKES – 1350M (APPROX)
Stewards permitted the late scratching of PLUCKY GIRL at 2:44 pm due to the downgrade of the track to SOFT 6. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on PLUCKY GIRL be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 1:42 pm:

GHISONI – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped near the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
DANISH TWIST – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.
WHITE MOSS – Began awkwardly.
LONG TIME AGO – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be sore both front fetlocks. Connections were advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
INVINCIBELLA – Trainer C. Waller advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden more forward if circumstances permit. After being inconvenienced shortly after the start the horse was obliged to settle further back than anticipated. Shifted out near the 500m and made contact with another runner.
DENMAGIC – Held up rounding the home turn and was unable to obtain clear running until after leaving the 300m.
CELLARGIRL – Slow to begin.
Race 7: ALTUS TRAFFIC KINGSFORD-SMITH CUP – 1350M (APPROX)
IMPENDING – Restrained at the start from a wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail. Overraced in the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
LE ROMAIN – When G. Schofield attempted to change the whip to his right hand, the gelding shifted out before being straightened.
ENDLESS DRAMA – Raced three wide throughout without cover.
ENGLISH – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
VOLPE VELOCE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES – Raced three wide throughout.
Race 8: TREASURY BRISBANE QUEENSLAND OAKS – 2200M (APPROX)
ALOISIA – Raced three wide in the early stages before crossing to race outside the leader near the 1300m.
YOUNGSTAR – Restrained from heels after passing the 1600m. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
SAVACOOL – Trainer C. Waller advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden back in the field with cover. The horse was ridden accordingly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly had cardiac arrhythmia. Mr Waller was advised that SAVACOOL must trial satisfactorily and he must produce a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG, prior to the filly being permitted to race again.
ANOTHER DOLLAR – Had to be steadied from the heels of IMPULSIVE passing the 1600m and as a result shifted out.
JOLLYFILLY OURS – Had to check away from heels near the 500m.
TERRA SANCTA – Bumped by another runner and forced wider after passing the 1600m. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages to a point near the 800m. Pulled hard for some distance after leaving the 1200m and shifted in after leaving the 900m, tightening the running of IMPULSIVE. J. Byrne was reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground. Had to be checked away from heels for some distance approaching the home turn.
IMPULSIVE – Tightened for room after leaving the 900m.
PROTEST – Raced very fiercely in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout.
SHE’S RELIABLE – Overraced in the early stages.
Race 9: SKY RACING FRED BEST CLASSIC – 1350M (APPROX)
SAMBRO, which reared in the barriers prior to the start, resulting in K. McEvoy advising that he was injured and unable to fulfil his engagement, was declared a late scratching at 4:59 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on SAMBRO be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 4:59 pm:

WHYPEEO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had a slow post-race recovery.

MISHANI BULLITT – Struck heels near the 600m and blundered.
MARSUPIAL – Raced wide without cover.
SHOGUN SUN – Had to steady from heels approaching the 1000m.
FEMME FIREBALL – Stewards permitted G. Schofield to ride the filly half a kilogram over its allocated weight. Slow to begin. Hampered near the 1200m when tightened for room between runners.
