Race 1: Triple Zero Charity Ball QTIS 2YO Handicap – 1050m
 
PINCH VISTA – Trainer R. Heathcote advised that from the wide barrier the horse would be ridden midfield with cover if circumstances permit. The horse settled in a worse than midfield position with cover.
 
MASSABIELLE – Jockey J. Byrne reported that his mount was unable to muster any early speed and was inclined to hang out for a major part of the race, placing him at a disadvantage. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting a slow post race recovery and some mild dehydration. Trainer T. Haydon was advised that a warning would be placed on the fillys racing manners.
 
ARCHADE – Approaching the 100m was bumped by MISSIE ARCHER.
 
HOLDIN MY OWN – Raced in restricted room over the final stages.
 
HEART OF KINGS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 2: National Fire Industry Association Open Handicap – 2200m
 
CHILLIN WITH DYLAN – Near the 700m was forced wider on the track by SAN TELMO, which shifted out. App J. Murphy (SAN TELMO) was advised to show greater care when shifting out to improve his position in future.
 
EXOTERIC – Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn and leaving the 100m had to alter course to the outside of TUMULTUOUS in order to improve.
 
ENDLESS DAYS – Jockey M. McGillivray reported at scale that his mount hung out for a major part of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
 
Race 3: Xplore Resources Class 6 Handicap – 1110m
 
JETSONIC – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Gillivray reported his mount was inclined to lay out for a major part of the race.
 
RAIDEN – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.
 
HIRTSHALS – Inclined to lay out when placed under pressure over the final 300m.
 
 
Race 4: Kanga Couriers Benchmark 70 Handicap – 1350m
.
CHASE THE WIND – Slow to begin.
 
SO INVINCIBLE – Slow to begin. Hung out over the final 600m.
 
WHODUNNIT – Overraced in the early stages when racing three wide without cover. Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
RHYMING – When asked to comment on the performance of RHYMING App M. Murphy explained that the mare raced flat today and may not have been suited from backing up within seven days. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Connections indicated that the mare may be looking for races of a further distance than that of today.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
 
Race 5: BOQ Victoria Point Class 3 Plate – 1200m
 
TOTALLY CHARMED – When asked to explain the riding tactics adopted on TOTALLY CHARMED over the final 600m App B.Thornton stated that when he was bumped and forced wider by SHOW EM from the 600m until approaching the 500m he elected to take hold of his mount and alter course towards the running rail in order to save valuable ground rounding the home turn. App Thornton added that he was held up approaching and passing the 200m and when he was able to get clear his mount worked home strongly. App Thornton further added that had he gone wider rounding the home turn he would have covered significant extra ground which would have been detrimental to his mounts chances. Stewards noted his explanation.    
 
MR BELLAGIO – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
ALMAS – Had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MR BELLAGIO near the 300m. Jockey M. Cahill (MR BELLAGIO) was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CORDONED – Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened badly in the home straight, revealed it to be exhibiting a cough. Stable representative for trainer K. Lees was advised that a veterinary clearance together with the results of an ECG must be provided prior to the gelding racing again.
 
 
Race 6: Xplore Resources QTIS 2YO And 3YO Plate – 1200m
 
RED DOULTON was declared a late scratching at 7.52 a.m. by order of stewards. Trainer N. McCall was fined $200 for the failing to scratch RED DOULTON by the prescribed time.   
 
Trainer D. Forster was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Byrne as the rider of RUBY RED
HEART.
 
RUBY RED HEART – Restrained in the early stages to gain a position closer to the rail.
 
CONSPICUOUS – Had to be eased when briefly tightened for room near the 1000m. App S. Lacy reported at scale that her mount raced flat today.
 
App M. Murphy (GOODONYA SONJA) was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 7: The Kohan And Chet Open Handicap – 1350m
 
DESMONS PRIDE – Slow to begin. Near the 200m had to be eased when momentarily taken in towards the heels of CORNROW.
 
CORNROW – For some distance approaching and passing the 1100m shifted in and bumped STELLA OMBRA on a number of occasions.
 
STELLA OMBRA – Bumped by CORNROW on a number of occasions for some distance approaching and passing the 1100m.
 
DESERT GENERAL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TOO GOOD TO REFUSE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer D. Forster was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
 
Race 8: Variety – The Childrens Charity Benchmark 85 Handicap – 1615m
 
EL CAMPEADOR – Had to be restrained from the heels of IRISH OPTIMISM near the 1200m.
 
REALLY REILLY – Had to be restrained from the heels of EL CAMPEADOR near the 1200m.
 
SNAPPER – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
IRISH OPTIMISM – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
INGEEGOODBE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight and went to the line not fully tested by its rider.
 
SLYDINI – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

DON’T TELL MAMA – Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 9: Team-Australia Group QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1615m
 
LITTLE JOHN – Hampered at the start.
 
GET STUCK IN – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
I AM IMPINGE – After travelling a short distance had to be eased when tightened for room between CAPTIVATOR and RED COLOUR, which shifted in slightly.
 
CHAPTER AND VERSE - After travelling a short distance had to be eased when tightened for room between CAPTIVATOR and RED COLOUR, which shifted in slightly.
 
BRAINS – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to cross to the lead near the 900m. Lost an off fore plate in running.
 
RED COLOUR - Near the 900m when crossed by BRAINS in the lead it then shifted out and made contact with ENTERPRISE MARCH.
 
ENTERPRISE MARCH – Forced wider near the 900m and was then ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 700m.
 
SIR BARNABUS – Inclined to lay out from the 600m until rounding the home turn. Held up in the early part of the home straight.
 
UNIQUE MAGIC – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
CAPTIVATOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
