Race 1 – Lazy Yak | Class 3 Plate | 1615 metres
The start of this race was delayed when Surprise Bullet refused to be loaded. Surprise Bullet was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12:31 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on Surprise Bullet be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 12:31 pm:

20 cents in the dollar for place of winner #3
18 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #7
21 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #6
The veterinary surgeon reported that Surprise Bullet sustained a small laceration to the near hind gaskin. Trainer B. Lockwood was advised that the horse must compete satisfactorily in two official barrier trials prior to racing again. In considering the matter, stewards took into account the horse’s poor record in this regard.
Husson’s Pride – Bumped on a number of occasions passing the 300m whilst weakening.
Sir Barnabus – Laid out rounding the home turn.
Sepoy Acheva – Disappointed for a run passing the 300m to the outside of Bernie’s Tiger and to the inside of Husson’s Pride. Stable representative Mr Paul Shailer said the horse has made an abnormal respiratory noise in recent starts and in track work. He added that the horse appeared to pull up well and he undertook to report to stewards anything that may come to light in the coming days that explains today’s performance.
Race 2 – Stav, Abby & Matt | BenchMark 90 Handicap | 2200 metres
Trainer E. Ensby was fined $200 under LR67 for failing to declare apprentice N. Masuda as the rider of Latino Lover by the prescribed time.
Follow Suit – J. Lloyd reported at scale that he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated as from the wide barrier he was caught wide in the early stages and he elected to restrain to gain cover.
Zip A Dee Doo Dah – Restrained at the start from a wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail.
Perilous Love – M. Hellyer dropped his whip near the 400m.
Race 3 – IPG Marketing Solutions The Emerald Jewel Prelude | 2-Y-O Colts & Geldings Plate | 1200 metres
Xanthus – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
Don’t Waiver – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Shifted in slightly near the 100m and had to be restrained from the heels of Picton, which also shifted out slightly under pressure.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4 retrospective to Race 3.
Race 4 – Winning Edge Presentations The Quartz Jewel Prelude | 2-Y-O Fillies Plate | 1200 metres
Say Haya – Restrained in the early stages to the rear of the field to gain a position close to the rail. Overraced in the early stages and near the 900m got its head up when being restrained from the heels of Raay Of Dreams.
Secondofmay – Shifted in abruptly near the 900m before being corrected by its rider.
Devine Grey – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
Epicurious – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
Race 5 – G.H. Mumm The Ruby Jewel Prelude | 3-Y-O Plate  | 1200 metres
Mishani Hustler – Shifted in at the start.
Defence Missile – Restrained near the 900m to allow Mishani Hustler to cross to the lead.
Fuji Flyer – Had to be restrained near the 850m to avoid the heels of Snicki Minaj, which shifted in when not fully clear. R. Stewart, the rider of Snicki Minaj, was reprimanded.
Rabbit Hunter – Hampered at the start when tightened for room. Had to be checked from the heels of Kittie Kins near the 900m. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.
Trail of Glory – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the home straight and had to alter course to the inside of Winter Passage in order to improve near the 250m.
Winter Passage – Jumped awkwardly. Had to be restrained from the heels of Defence Missile near the 900m when the pace steadied and as a result shifted out and made heavy contact with Kittie Kins.
Kittie Kins – Bumped heavily near the 900m and forced wider.
Race 6 – Sky Racing Tattersall’s Members’ Cup | 1615 metres
Emphasis – Slow to begin.
Balboa Rocks – Raced wide throughout.
Goldstream – Raced wide in the early stages and crossed to race outside the leader near the 1000m. Taken wider near the 1100m. Had to be eased when weakening near the 200m to avoid the heels of High Degree, which shifted out to improve when not fully clear. Apprentice B. Nothdurft, the rider of High Degree, was severely reprimanded.
Xebec – Overraced in the middle stages. Held up and unable to improve from the 600m until upon straightening.
El Campeador – Taken wider near the 1100m.
Coral Coast –Taken wider near the 1100m.  Had to be steadied from the heels of Goldstream approaching the 1000m. Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages before obtaining cover near the 800m.
High Degree – Tightened onto the running rail near the 900m and had to be checked to avoid the heels of El Campeador. R. Stewart, the rider of El Campeador, was issued with a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in at that point when not clear of High Degree. After hearing further submissions from jockey Stewart and reviewing the patrol footage, stewards were not comfortably satisfied they could sustain the charge as they had some doubt that jockey Stewart was able to relieve the pressure at the relevant time as other runners had improved to his outside.
Race 7 – Stella Artois | BenchMark 75 Handicap | 1110 metres
Winds of Change was declared a late scratching at 3:15 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice that the gelding had sustained an injury to the off fore tendon. Trainer R. Heathcote’s stable representative was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
My Girl Hayley – Raced three wide with cover.
Tabbing – Raced three wide without cover.
Divine Service – Overraced in the early stages and near the 900m threw its head in the air and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
Denarius – Slow to begin. Had to be restrained from the heels of Divine Service when that runner was racing ungenerously near the 800m.
Limerick Moon – Made contact with the running rail near the 900m when tightened for room by Wooshka, which shifted in.
Wooshka – Shifted out to improve upon straightening and made contact with Linlithgow.
Linlithgow – Restrained near the 700m to avoid the heels of Cool Sequence, which shifted in when not fully clear. B. Thornton, the rider of Cool Sequence, was reprimanded and advised to give his fellow riders greater clearance in the future. Bumped by Wooshka upon straightening and taken wider.
Cool Drafts – Had to be eased soon after the start when tightened for room.
I Am Venus – Stood flat-footed at the start at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer B. Healey was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare. Mr Healey advised stewards that he would remove the blinkers from the horse’s gear at its next start.
Race 8 – Weddings At Tattersall’s Club | Open Handicap | 1200 metres
The start of this race was delayed when Tumbler had to have the near fore plate refitted at the barriers.
Cannyescent – Slow to begin.
Snoopy – Had to be eased when tightened for room near the 50m between Sony Legend and Tumbler, which shifted out under pressure. D. Smith, the rider of Tumbler, was cautioned and advised to show greater care when shifting ground in the future.
Tumbler – Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.
Sony Legend – Raced three wide without cover.
Tawfiq Boy – Held up on the heels of Snoopy for some distance approaching the 200m.
Kievann – Raced three wide with cover. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer and was found to be sore over the rump on both sides.
Mr Markou – Slow to begin.
Race 9 – HIT105 | No Metro Wins Handicap | 1350 metres
I Am Impinge – Overraced in the early stages.
Bold Endeavour – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
All Pluck – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight and went to the line not fully tested by its rider.
Madluce Missile – Slow to begin and was then hampered soon afterwards when tightened for room. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
