Guthmann-Chester was fined $250 under AR232(b) in that he failed to comply with a requirement to attend Apprentice School. Race 1: LUCRF SUPER MAIDEN PLATE – 2050M As R. Maloney was to be overweight, R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of SERLINA. R. Maloney was fined $400. CHAINSMOKER – Raced keenly in the early stages. B. Pengelly was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. BLACK MOUNTAIN – Inconvenienced and had to be eased at the 900m when MISSY MUSKETEER shifted in. A. Spinks, the rider of MISSY MUSKETEER, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. HAFU – B. Stewart was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. SCILAGO – Momentarily inconvenienced near the 300m when THE LAST ROAD laid inwards. Had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight. DYDEE’S GIRL – Bumped on jumping. GARIFULLINA – R. Wiggins was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. MISSY MUSKETEER – Proved difficult to settle in the early stages. TAVISFACTION – Had to be eased near the 400m when HAFU shifted outwards after being disappointed for a run to the inside of UNDAUNTED. Laid inwards in the straight. SERLINA – Bumped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Race 2: TAB PROVINCIAL APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR – BAYLEE NOTHDURFT C,G&E RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H’CAP – 1350M The start of this race was delayed when the farrier had to refit the off fore plate of CURRUMBIN CRAFT behind the barriers. CURRUMBIN CRAFT – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide from the 500m. J. Orman dropped his whip approaching the 200m. CERTAIN DOUBT – Slow to begin. MYSTERIUM – Steadied off the heels of SIX SIGMA passing the 100m when that runner shifted in. B. Stewart, the rider of SIX SIGMA, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. PRINCE OF FLINDERS – Raced three wide throughout. Race 3: RACING QUEENSLAND MARKETING & EVENTS MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M BACK THE ROCK – Shifted outwards near the 1100m after making contact with ROCK ‘N’ SOL. Raced wide from the 1000m. HIGH CHIEF – Hung outwards throughout. Shifted outwards abruptly approaching the 400m when hanging outwards. Lost the near hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B. Lockwood was advised that the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. OUR RED JET – Proved difficult to settle when racing keenly in the early and middle stages. Eased near the 500m when tightened for room to the inside of ROCK ‘N’ SOL, which rolled in. RAGING ROYAL – Hung outwards from the 800m. TICKETOME – Raced three wide throughout. HIGH I CUE – Had to be eased and taken outwards away from the heels of ROCK ‘N’ SOL, which steadied in front near the 1100m. Carried outwards near the 400m when HIGH CHIEF shifted outwards. ROCK ‘N’ SOL – Had to be eased near the 1100m when awkwardly placed on the heels of HIGH CHIEF. SEARING SPEED – Inconvenienced and carried wider when HIGH CHIEF hung outwards near the 400m. Race 4: TAB 2018 NARS WINNING APPRENTICE – JACKSON MURPHY QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1110M DEVIL’S TEMPTATION, which had been restless in the barriers, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to have a laceration to its forehead. DEVIL’S TEMPTATION was declared a late scratching at 2:56 pm on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on DEVIL’S TEMPTATION be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:56 pm: 11 cents in the dollar for the win #1211 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1228 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #147 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #9 Trainer T. Sears was advised that DEVIL’S TEMPTATION will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. IN GREAT NIC – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout and hung outwards near the 600m. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised that that the filly must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Mr Heathcote indicated that he would consider sending the filly for a spell. ZAC ATTACK – Hung outwards over the final 300m. Race 5: TAB COUNTRY APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR – NATHAN FAZACKERLEY F&M RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H’CAP – 1350M SEPOY ACHEVA – Slow to begin. VERANES – Slow to begin. SHE SALUTES – Crowded shortly after the start and lost ground. Race 6: TAB NATIONAL APPRENTICE SERIES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M PORK AND BEANS – Jumped away awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer B. Baldwin was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. CRUZ – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. OUR MANTRA – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 350m and the 300m. TZIPORAH – Slow to begin. DOWNLOADING – Momentarily held up in the early part of the straight. Race 7: TAB METROPOLITAN APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR – JAG GUTHMANN-CHESTER QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1350M STARBUSTER – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 350m and the 200m. LICKETY LACHIE – Eased near the 1200m when tight to the inside of MASSTOO, which shifted in slightly. Thereafter the gelding proved difficult to settle in the back straight. SPEEDGUN – Momentarily tightened to the inside of MASSTOO near the 800m when that runner laid inwards. MASSTOO – M. Du Plessis reported at scale that his mount raced greenly in the early stages. TOO HOT TO HOLD – Held up and had to be taken outwards for clear running in the early part of the straight. Race 8: RACING QUEENSLAND TRAINING DEPARTMENT CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1650M BARGANNON – Raced keenly in the early stages. Dipped passing the 100m. CONSTANT FLIGHT – Raced wide in the early stages. TROMMELSCHLAGEN – Whilst racing keenly in the back straight, had to be steadied off the heels of CONSTANT FLIGHT, which shifted in approaching the 1000m. VAULTING AMBITION – Slow to begin. LE MATTAN – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Held up and unable to obtain clear running from the 550m until shortly after passing the 200m. WAS IT WORTH IT – Slow to begin.
