SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Ipswich 17 April 2019: Stewards accepted the evidence provided by jockey L. Cassidy relating to his inability to fulfil his engagement in Race 1 due to transport difficulties and took no further action.
 
GENERAL
 
As J. Orman was to be overweight in Races 1 and 6, he was replaced by S. Cormack (MAGSTOCK – Race 1) and R. Fradd (SONY LEGEND – Race 6). J. Orman was fined $200 for each infringement.
 
Race 1: BERNIE’S PRODUCE BENCHMARK 90 H'CAP – 2200M
 
As R. Maloney was to be overweight, R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of BARGANNON. R. Maloney was fined $400. In determining penalty, stewards were mindful of jockey Maloney’s recent poor record.
 
MISHANI VAIDRA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be exhibiting a cough and to have a poor post-race recovery.
 
FOLLOW SUIT – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up on the heels of RUBY GURU passing the 600m.
 
ENDLESS DAYS – Proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Shifted three wide to improve after passing the 900m.
 
BARGANNON – Broke through the front of the barrier gates, was quickly restrained, returned to the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
SKYTREK – Slow to begin.
 
RUBY GURU – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to HEAVY 9.
 
Race 2: PEACHESTER LODGE 2YO PLATE – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed when MAGIC BEANS was late arriving at the barriers after having a gear adjustment made prior to leaving the enclosure.
 
MAGIC BEANS – Became awkwardly placed at the heels of the tiring MUSIC AWARD passing the 300m, clipped heels and blundered.
 
DEVILS MARBLES – Hampered passing the 600m.
 
ERIC THE EEL – Slow into stride. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BEAUREGARD – Reared slightly as the start was effected and lost ground. Became awkwardly placed at heels after passing the 600m and shifted wider on the track.
 
WINNING SHOT – Began awkwardly. Hung out after passing the 800m.
 
GOIN’ GRAND – Kicked out in the enclosure, making contact with the plastic rail, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race. Slow into stride.
 
Race 3: OSCAR OSCAR SALONS ONE METRO WIN H’CAP – 1110M
 
As L. Tilley was to be overweight,  R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of ANNATIME.
 
Stewards permitted the late scratching of JOHNNY WHITESOX at 11:58 due to the downgrade of the track to Heavy 9.
 
MEET MR TAYLOR – Began awkwardly.
 
I’VE GOTTA NEL – Overraced in the early stages when in a trailing position.
 
SUPER SUAVE – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide with cover.
 
DANTGA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
COOL DRAFTS – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected and then jumped awkwardly.
 
ANNATIME – Slow into stride. Raced three wide without cover after passing the 800m.
 
POET’S LANDING – Slow into stride.
 
Following the running of this event the track was further downgraded to HEAVY 10.
 
Race 4: BIG DIFFERENCE CONSULTING BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1615M
 
Prior to the running of this event a number of jockeys, stewards and BRC officials conducted an inspection of the track in the home straight. Following the inspection, all parties indicated that they had no issues with continuing with the remainder of the meeting at this stage.
 
The start of this race was delayed due to an inspection of the track by riders and officials.
 
HANG – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced three wide with cover.
 
REIBY THE RED – After being caught four wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward and obtained the position outside the leader passing the 1000m. Bumped by KILMACURRAGH passing the 300m.
 
MR BELLAGIO – After being caught four wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward and obtained a position with cover passing the 1100m.
 
SHADAL – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
KARAKABEEL – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced three wide with cover.
 
KILMACURRAGH – Bumped slightly by PONYTALES shortly after straightening when that runner shifted out.
 
UNIQUE MAGIC – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Raced three wide without cover.
 
DANSEZ – Improved into a narrow run to the inside of LADY BING approaching the 400m and had to be steadied.
 
FABULONH – The rider’s whip broke near the 400m.
 
Race 5: AQUIS TAILS STAKES – 1615M
 
SAVVY COUP – Caught three wide in a rearward position in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field to obtain a position closer to the rail passing the 1000m.
 
COOL CHAP – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
TANGLED – Became unbalanced shortly after the start when bumped on the hind quarters by ORDER AGAIN. After passing the 200m was bumped on the hind quarters by ORDER AGAIN, which laid in under pressure.
 
FIT FOR PURPOSE – Began awkwardly and then had to be steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn and had to alter course back to the inside to obtain clear running upon straightening.                                                                                                            
 
Race 6: TAB ASCOT H'CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed when SONY LEGEND, which cast a plate en route to the barriers, required farrier attention.
 
COLDSTONE – Raced three wide without cover.
 
KEEN ARRAY – Began awkwardly.
 
MR MARBELLOUZ – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
NO ANNAMOSSITY – Slow to begin. Bumped with BOLD CHANCE passing the 100m.
 
BOLD CHANCE –  R. Wiggins lost the use of his nearside rein for a short distance after passing the 300m, placing him in some difficulty. Bumped with NO ANNAMOSSITY passing the 100m.
 
SONY LEGEND – Raced keenly when racing outside the leader in the early stages.
 
Race 7: SPIRIT OF BOOM MICK DITTMAN PLATE – 1110M
 
Trainer R. Lipp was fined $200 for failing to declare R. Fradd as the rider of TAKOTSUBO by the prescribed time.
 
PLAGUE STONE – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace after passing the 900m and got its head up whilst being restrained. Had to be checked away from the heels of SANGLIER passing the 600m.
 
ROCK BEAT – Slow to begin.
 
CYCLONE TOPGIRL – Became unbalanced approaching the 400m when bumped on the hind quarters by PLAGUE STONE, which shifted out to improve. Cast the off fore plate in running.
 
JAMI LADY – Raced three wide without cover after passing the 900m.
 
TAKOTSUBO – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining cover passing the 700m.
 
LOVE SQUIRRELS – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
 
Following the running of this event, a delegation of riders advised stewards of their concerns with the amount of kickback in this race and the resultant effect on their visibility. After giving the matter consideration and reviewing the footage of this event, Stewards were also concerned with the kickback and visibility afforded to the riders and as such abandoned Races 8 and 9 at 3:35 pm.
