Lister, R. SmithStewards Secretary – W. Ostrofski SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT From Ipswich 3 July 2019 – Race 5: Trainer T. Gollan reported to stewards that DELFUEGO had bled from both nostrils after returning to his stables. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding had bled, under the provisions of AR79(6) it will now be ineligible to start in any race. From Rockhampton 6 July 2019 – Race 4: B. Stewart, the rider of WHOOSH, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 12 occasions prior to the 100m. Race 7: B. Stewart, the rider of SILVERA, was fined $600 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 13 occasions prior to the 100m. Stewards accepted jockey Stewart’s explanations for leaving the Rockhampton course without permission on that day and also for failing to fulfil his engagements at the Sunshine Coast meeting on Sunday 7 July 2019. Race 1: SKY RACING C,G&E MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1350M TELECOM DANEWIN – Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped CHRISTMAS CREEK. TYRIAN – After being fractious in the float en route to the course the gelding was inspected by the veterinary surgeon prior to the race and cleared to start. Trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part in the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. CHRISTMAS CREEK – Hampered when bumped at the start. C'MOME PADDYREILLY – Slow to begin. OMORFOS – Shifted out abruptly near the 1200m. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos reported that the gelding returned to the enclosure with its tongue over the bit. Race 2: BRC MEMBERSHIPS CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1200M WINNING KISS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Race 3: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1050M As R. Plumb was indisposed, R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of HI FIVER. No racing incidents. Race 4: TEDDY BEARS PICNIC RACEDAY QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1640M ULTIMATE RING – Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn. Race 5: ALCYONE HOTEL RESIDENCES F&M MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1350M DOLLY SPARTAN – R. Maloney reported at scale that it was not his intention to lead, however, when his mount commenced to overrace in the early stages he moved it three wide and allowed it to stride forward. MISS UNDERSTANDING – Held up and unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn. STOLEN PARADISE – Hampered at the start. Lost the near hind plate in running. QUALIFY – Lost the near fore plate in running. ZAMARA – Held up and unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and then had to shift wider to improve. WE WANT IT ALL – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Race 6: BIG SCREEN ON THE GREEN RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 2220M ALLCASH – Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight until passing the 100m. PURRFECT TRICK – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 1200m. GOTHIC ROMANCE – Held up from the 600m until the early part of the home straight. Following this event apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester was stood down from his remaining engagements by the Club doctor and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 7: A NIGHT IN FRANCE BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1640M YULONG EMPEROR, which was kicked by another runner behind the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 2:59 pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on YULONG EMPEROR be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:59 pm: 8 cents in the dollar for the win #94 cents in the dollar for place of winner #915 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #1 15 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #7 NOBLE TRUTH – Examined by the veterinary surgeon at the request of the trainer and was found to have a poor post-race recovery. REMOLAD – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Race 8: WWW.BRC.COM.AU CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M As R. Maloney was to be overweight, D. Griffin was substituted as the rider of LA PULGA. R. Maloney was fined $400. BORAZON – Restrained from the wide barrier to gain a position close to the rail. MISTER WARD – Hit the rail after the winning post. FLYING PRETTY – Slow to begin. Race 9: TAB QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1350M As apprentice C. Gallagher was riding at the Grafton meeting, E. Ljung was substituted as the rider of COCO MONSIEUR. CYBER ATTACK – Raced three wide with cover. PLUMARO – Checked soon after the start when tightened for room between CHURNING and DRAGON INTHE NORTH. Resented racing in restricted room between CYBER ATTACK and SEMAPHORE GIRL near the 600m and threw its head in the air and lost ground. YAMAZAKI – Slow to begin. L. Tilley reported that his mount failed to handle today’s soft track conditions. RED CHASE – Stewards permitted D. Griffin to ride the gelding half a kilogram over its allotted weight when no other rider was available. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse returned to the enclosure with a small laceration to the inside of the off fore fetlock. TREVELYAN – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
