Race 1: TAB QTIS 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M
 
CELLARMAID – Laid outwards when making ground out wide near the 500m.
 
MAKEUP – Slow to begin.
 
LA TRIOLI – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
Race 2: SOUTHS SPORTS CLUB QTIS 3YO C&G MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M
 
CITY SMART – Slow to begin.
 
PRIMO AGOSTO – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages. Laid inwards in the straight.
 
Following this event apprentice N. Keal was examined by the Club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagement in Race 6.
 
Race 3: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1350M
 
KATHMANDU – Slow to begin.
 
SAVIGNE – Slow into stride.
 
Race 4: MELBOURNE CUP DAY @ EAGLE FARM MAIDEN PLATE – 1110M
 
ALDERMAN – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
EUROFLYER – Bled both nostrils. Ineligible to start for 3 months and before resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
CHICAGO BULL – Laid outwards from the 400m until passing the 200m. Rider dropped his whip at the 200m.
 
ICELANDER – Lost ground after jumping away awkwardly and making heavy contact with ALDERMAN. Had to be steadied outwards near the 600m when awkwardly placed on the heels of EUROFLYER. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 250m when ALDERMAN was carried outwards by CHICAGO BULL.
 
CENTRAL AMERICA – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
Race 5: HAMILTON HOTEL CLASS 4 PLATE – 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed when VIENNA POWER dislodged rider J. Byrne behind the barriers and then galloped for a considerable distance before being captured. Acting on veterinary advice, stewards declared VIENNA POWER a late scratching at 3:10 pm. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on VIENNA POWER be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 3:10 pm:
 
11 cents in the dollar for the win #1
5 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1
23 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #9
 
BUCK BAY – Bled both nostrils. Ineligible to start for 3 months and before resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
MOONAN JOYCE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 6: MOET & CHANDON CHAIRMAN’S CLUB MAIDEN H'CAP – 1630M
 
SPIRITUAL – As apprentice N. Keal had been stood down by the Club doctor, apprentice S. Thornton was substituted as rider.
 
PROSPECTUS – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
LILIERO – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
ROCK ON HIGH – Lost ground on jumping after being bumped by LILIERO, which jumped awkwardly outwards.
 
Race 7: WWW.BRC.COM.AU 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
Stewards intend to inquire into an incident near the 800m where NINEONEONE fell, dislodging rider T. Harrison and resulting in PINTANG PRINCE (B. Stewart), MISSIONARY BAY (M. Cahill) and NORTHERN DRAGON (J. Bayliss) dislodging their riders. T. Harrison and J. Bayliss were transported to hospital for treatment. M. Cahill was examined by the Club doctor and cleared to fulfil his engagement in Race 8. B. Stewart was examined by the Club doctor and cleared of any apparent injury.
 
MADLUCE MISSILE – Severely inconvenienced near the 800m when NINONEONE fell and dislodged its rider, and was subsequently eased out of the race.
 
NO REFUND – Bumped with NINEONEONE on jumping.
 
PINTANG PRINCE – Severely inconvenienced and dislodged its rider near the 800m as a result of NINEONEONE falling.
 
MOJOS – Severely inconvenienced near the 800m when NINONEONE fell and dislodged its rider.
 
MISSIONARY BAY – Severely inconvenienced and dislodged its rider near the 800m as a result of NINEONEONE falling.
 
TOUJOURS L’AMOUR – Trainer B. Baldwin reported that the mare sustained a superficial laceration to the off hind leg.
 
NINEONEONE – Bumped with NO REFUND on jumping. Fell near the 800m, dislodging its rider. An inquiry will be held at a later date.
 
NORTHERN DRAGON – Severely inconvenienced near the 800m, dislodging its rider, when following NINEONEONE, which fell, dislodging its rider.
 
Race 8: EVENTS @ BRC CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1630M
 
As a result of a number of runners falling and dislodging riders in Race 7 and the need for ambulances to arrive on course and transport riders to hospital, the start of this race was rescheduled to 5:26 pm.
 
As D. Griffin was not riding due to injury, J. Orman was substituted as the rider of IPSO NEM FELEK.
 
SAPPHIRE GIFT was declared a late scratching at 4:44 pm when J. Bayliss was unable to fulfil the engagement due to being dislodged and injured in Race 7 and when no other rider was available. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on SAPPHIRE GIFT be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 4:44 pm:

2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #10
