Race 1: 4 Pines Pacific Ale Class 3 Plate – 1600m
 
WESTHAM – Examined at the barriers and passed fit to race. Pulled hard  and raced wide in the early stages.  When questioned, jockey B. Nothdurft stated that after pulling and being caught wide in the early stages he managed to obtain the lead as expected. However when placed under pressure in the straight the gelding disappointed and failed to respond to his riding.  Trainer  T. Gollan stated that WESTHAM has now had 2 hard runs within a short space of time, which may have contributed to the performance today, and as such he would now space out the gelding’s future starts. A post race veterinary examination  failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
ULTIMATE RING – Slow into stride.
 
SOARING HEART – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages. Bumped on the hind quarters near the 300m and was then buffeted when racing tight between SAWTELL and KINGS FULL, which rolled outwards.
 
SAWTELL – Laid in near the 300m, making contact with the hind quarters of SOARING HEART.
 
DELAYED RESPONSE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.
 
MALAWI GOLD – Laid in in the straight.
 
DARK IMAGE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
 
 
Race 2: Hit105 RNB Fridays’ Benchmark 90 H’cap - 2000m
 
LOTA CREEK GOLD – Had to be steadied near the 500m when awkwardly placed on the heels of SADLER’S LAKE. 
 
SADLER’S LAKE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 3: IPG Marketing Solutions Jewel Prelude 2yo Colts and Geldings
Plate – 1100m
 
SAFEWORK – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
GOOD CHAT - Slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate.
 
MASS DESTRUCTION – Bumped on jumping.  Pulled hard and then shifted outwards abruptly away from the heels of MISHANI FRAUDSTER near the 850m.
 
IGOR – Bumped on jumping.  Near the 850m was carried outwards by MASS DESTRUCTION.
 
MISHANI FRAUDSTER – Steadied off ROTHFIRE near the 850m.
 
 
Race 4: Winning Edge Presentations Jewel Prelude 2yo Fillies Plate –
1110m
 
MISHANI MISS – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.24 pm when it was found to be lame behind. The following deductions were applicable.
 
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Trainer L. Ross was advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to its next race start.
 
KISUKANO – Jumped away extremely awkwardly.
 
HEMBROW – Blundered on jumping. Lost its near fore plate in running.
 
POUPEE – Commenced to race keenly passing the 700m, and approaching the 600m had to be steadied off the heels of JUDDER.
 
JUDDER – Laid inwards over the final 500m.
 
PETUNIA – Which laid inwards had to be eased off the heels of HEMBROW, which laid inwards near the 150m.
 
JELLISHOT – Jockey R. Fradd advised that with the addition of blinkers today the filly was reluctant to stride out in the early stages.  Trainer R. Heathcote stated in view of today’s performance he would now take the blinkers off the filly. He advised that should anything come to light with regards to the filly in the coming days he would advise stewards accordingly.
 
 
Race 5: Members At Tattersall’s Open H’cap – 1200m
 
MACEWEN – Slow to begin.
 
INVINCIBLE AL – Which raced wide throughout pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
 
GREY MISSILE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 6: G.H Mumm Jewel Prelude 3yo Plate – 1200m
 
STAMPE – Shifted a plate in the parade ring and had to be reshod.  Bumped making the turn into the straight.
 
EXONDABEACH – Jumped away awkwardly.  When questioned regarding the performance jockey L. Tarrant stated that EXONDABEACH made some respiratory noises on route to the barriers, which was not overly concerned with.  He further stated his mount did not travel well at any stage and raced flat.  In addition, on pulling up it coughed on a couple of occasions.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be making slight respiratory noises.  Following a recommendation from the veterinary surgeon, trainer T. Sears was advised to have the filly scoped and provide results to stewards. Jockey L. Tarrant was pleaded guilty to a charge under AR114, in that whilst on route to the barriers his mount coughed on a number of occasions and he failed to report the matter to the stewards or in their absence the starter prior to the start of the race.  Jockey Tarrant was fined $1000.
 
MISS CAVALLO – Dipped on jumping.
 
ROYALIST – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
BABY BOOMER – Bumped making the turn into the straight.
 
Race 7: Stav, Abby & Matt Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1110m
 
MISS BENETEAU – Began awkwardly and was momentarily hampered near the 300m when MISS BENETEAU was bumped outwards by JARDIN ROUGE.  Jockey L. Tarrant had his whip struck out of his hand near the 250m.
 
JARDIN ROUGE – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.
 
ADORADANCER – Slow into stride.
 
WANDABAA – Raced 3 wide throughout. Jockey A. Mallyon was fined $300 for returning to scale overweight – AR211(1)
 
THE GREAT BOOMBINO – Which was racing keenly had to be steadied off the heels of DESERT MAN near the 500m.
 
TANGO RAIN – Held up for clear running approaching the 300m and again from the 250m to the 100m.
 
Race 8: Sky Racing Tattersall’s Members’ Cup – 1600m
 
PRIORTISE –  Reweighted to 54.5 kg after winning midweek at Toowoomba. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
HALLELUJAH BOY – Bumped and tightened shortly after the start.
 
IMPASSE – Bumped shortly after the start. Bumped near the 350m.
 
SPECTROSCOPE – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
MONSIEUR GUSTAVE -  Bumped near the 350m.
 
NEW UNIVERSE  - Rider has his whip knocked out of his hand near the 300m.
 
MAGNUFIGHTER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
TURNBERRY – Eased when racing tight whilst tiring near the 300m.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Race 9: Stella Artois Class 6 H’cap – 1350m
 
NO ANNAMOSSITY – Slow into stride.
 
TOKORIKI LAD – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FEMME FIREBALL – Raced 3 wide from the 600m. Bumped near the 500m.
 
AUERBACH – Bumped near the 500m.  Jockey B. Stewart was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
 
TAILLEVENT – Unable to secure clear running from the 500m to the 100m.
 
CLOCKWISE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m to the 100m.
 
WINTER PASSAGE – Momentarily disappointed for a run passing the 200m.
 
SISTER PATTI – Had to be taken outwards at the 200m to obtain clear running.
