SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Eagle Farm, Wednesday 09 September 2020

RACE 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400M
SHAMROCK LU – Trainer T Gollan advised that on return to stables the colt underwent a veterinary inspection and scope which revealed a degree of mucus in its airways and was subsequently treated accordingly. Trainer T Gollan was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialling again.

RACE 6: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
WARP SPEED – Trainer R Heathcote advised that on return to stables the gelding was scoped revealing it had grade 3 mucus in its airways and was subsequently treated accordingly. Trainer R Heathcote was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialling again.

Race 1: SOUTHS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1110 metres

AHEADOFHISTIME – Raced keenly in the early stages.

CONQUER THE STARS – When questioned in relation to the improved performance Trainer C Cousins stated that the gelding was sent for an immediate spell following its last start as it was found to be striding short in front. He further stated that in his opinion it races well when fresh and therefore expected an improved performance today.

GREAT KEPPELL – Slow into stride. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight.

PRINCESS CORDELIA – Approaching the 100m was crowded and eased between GREAT KEPPELL which shifted out and HAUTCLERE which laid in.

TRENGGANU – Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.

HAUTCLERE – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified it to be lame in the off fore fetlock. Trainer M Currie was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialling again.

MOLLY'S ROCKING – Made the home turn awkwardly and thereafter proving difficult to ride out when laying in.

Race 2: BRC – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Class 3 Plate 1200 metres

CHICO MILAGRO – Approaching the 1000m raced with its head up when being restrained and crowded by OH FIVE GLORY which shifted in. Apprentice A Thompson (OH FIVE GLORY) was reprimanded for shifting ground when not fully clear. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. CHICO MILAGRO under AR79(4) shall not without the permission of the Stewards : (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward.

VIVENDO IL SOGNO – Bumped with AMICHE at the start.

AMICHE - Bumped with VIVENDO IL SOGNO at the start. Performed below market expectation. Rider R Maloney stated that the mare did not show its customary early speed and travelled only fairly. He went on to say that it commenced to hang out from the 800m and failed to run on and in his opinion has come to the end of its preparation. Trainer D Vandyke advised that the mare would be sent for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not identify any abnormal findings and a post-race swab was taken for analysis.

HEARTS LIFTED – Put in an awkward stride approaching the 600m.

OH FIVE GLORY – Over the concluding stages eased from the heels of CHICO MILAGRO which shifted in. Rider B Nothdurft (CHICO MILAGRO) was advised to exercise for care in similar circumstances.

Race 3: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1200 metres

MISHANI BULLITT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 900m when racing keenly brushed the running rail on a couple of occasions after being restrained from heels of PIRACY which shifted in. Apprentice A Patis (PIRACY) was reprimanded for shifting ground when not fully clear. Approaching the 50m eased when disappointed and crowded for room to the inside of ONE STRYKE.

PARKO – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

MITTERE – Slow to begin.

FISTICUFFS – Blundered on jumping. Held up in the early part of the home straight and then near the 300m was unable to secure clear running and had to be checked inwards across the heels of DEFENCE MISSILE.

Race 4: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY 3YO QUALITY HANDICAP 1350 metres

CLAIRVUE STAR – Near the 800 when racing keen had to be restrained off the heels of AERIAL COMBAT. Near the 400m, eased when held up on the heels of AERIAL COMBAT which was giving ground. Near the 300m, dipped when tight between I’MTWENTYFOURSEVEN and SAFEWORK.

I'MTWENTYFOURSEVEN – After being caught wide in the early stages was permitted to stride forward to obtain position closer to the fence. Laid inwards near the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had sustained lacerations to its near hind which would be consistent with it being galloped on.

NEUTRON - Connections advised that the gelding will be ridden further back with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Near the 800m raced with its head up when being eased from the heels of CLAIRVUE STAR.

GOOD CHAT- Slow into stride.

TYCOON EVIE – Raced wide throughout. Put in an awkward stride passing the 900m.

AERIAL COMBAT – Near the 400m eased when tightened for room to the inside of I'MTWENTYFOURSEVEN which rolled in.

PALASZCZUK (NZ) – Momentarily steadied outwards across the heels of TYCOON EVIE near the 400m. Hung inwards in the home straight.

SAFEWORK – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards in the home straight.

Race 5: BRC - LIKE NOWHERE ELSE IN BRISBANE Class 6 Handicap 1350 metres

GUNTANTES- Approaching the 1200m bumped on a number of occasions and became unbalanced. Laid inwards whilst giving ground in the home straight.

PLITVICE - Approaching the 1200m bumped on a number of occasions and became unbalanced. Near the 1000m lost ground and checked when racing tight to the inside of GUNTANTES which was laying in away from ALL IMPORTANT.

ALL IMPORTANT – Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.

ZIEMBA – Slow into stride.

Race 6: BRC SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1630 metres

BENFICA PRINCESS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

ALPINE DANCER – Slow to begin. Raced three wide from the 1000m.

NAPOLEON SOLO – Raced with its head up when proving very difficult to settle near the 1100m.

FLYING MACHINE – Slow to begin.

SEEINGISBELIEVING – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

TOP ME UP AGAIN (NZ) – Bumped and crowded on jumping.

CANAPES - Bumped after jumping awkwardly.

BLACKLOG (NZ) – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.

Race 7: TAB BRISBANE HANDICAP 1630 metres

KAONIC (NZ) - Connections advised that the intentions are from the good gate to settle in a more forward position with cover. Slow to begin and settled worse than midfield. Near the 500m shifted out to improve made heavy contact with ARTICUS.

SABKHAT – Raced three wide without cover in the early stage until the 1200m. Near the 250m eased when tightened for room between JUNCTION which shifted out after being bumped on the hind quarter by SABKHAT and SKATE TO PARIS which shifted in under pressure.

JUNCTION – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

SUPERGIANT (NZ) - Performed below market expectation. Rider M McGillivray stated that he could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance however it laid in under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.

MORENDI – Slow into stride.

ARTICUS (FR) – Over raced in the middle stages. Bumped heavily near the 500m by KAONIC which shifted out to improve.

Race 8: XXXX DRY OPEN QUALITY Handicap 1110 metres

ALLIGATOR BLOOD – Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Bumped with INVINCIBLE AL shortly after the start.

JUST ORM – Raced keenly in the early stages.

INVINCIBLE AL – Bumped with ALLIGATOR BLOOD shortly after the start. Approaching the 900m commenced to over race with its head up proving difficult to settle and as a result taken out towards TYCOON ACE.

CATESBY – Blundered shortly after the start. Laid inwards in the home straight. Rider R Stewart was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted.

Race 9: CASCADE OPEN Handicap 2030 metres

ALWARD (IRE) – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

SATONO RASEN (JPN) - Connections advised that the intentions are to lead if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly.

SIR BARNABUS – Raced in restricted room in the early part of the home straight.

ALIFEROUS – Laid inwards in the home straight.

OBSERVATIONAL (GB) – Rider S Thornton stated that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond and was eased down. A post-race veterinary examination identified the gelding to be short striding in front. Trainer W Nugent was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialling again.

ROMAKASH (NZ) – Held up and was unable to improve from the 300m until the 100m.

TOP PROSPECT (NZ) - A post-race veterinary examination identified the gelding to have a laceration to its off hind coronet.

RUBY GURU (NZ) – Slow to begin and made contact with SATONO RASEN.
