After hearing evidence from all parties and viewing the Stewards footage it was established that near the 300m MORENDI shifted out slightly at the same stage that SO YOU WIN shifted in slightly and FASTNET CYCLONE was inconvenienced. Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference sustained to FASTNET CYCLONE was significant and warranted a reversal of placings and the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered a protest lodged by Apprentice J Huxtable the rider of the 4th placegetter ALDERMAN, against the winner SEENTOOMANY (B Stewart) for alleged interference over the final the 100m. After hearing evidence from all parties and viewing the Stewards footage it was established that near the 100m SEENTOOMANY shifted out and made heavy contact with ALDERMAN resulting in that runner becoming unbalanced. SEENTOOMANY continued to shift out over the final stages and ALDERMAN had to be steadied. The Stewards weren’t satisfied that this interference and the margin separating the two runners and the way both runners closed the race off was sufficient to alter the placings, as such the protest was dismissed, and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.

B Stewart the rider of SEENTOOMANY was found guilty of careless riding under the provisions of AR 131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent SEENTOOMANY from shifting out near the 100m and making heavy with ALDERMAN and continuing to shift out over the final stages resulting in ALDERMAN having to be restrained. B Stewart had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 14 days to commence at midnight 7 November 2020 and to conclude at midnight 21 November 2020,
