Co-trainer T Edmonds reported TACTICAL MOVE had pulled up well following the event and would continue with its current preparation. Mr Edmonds added he may experiment with gear changes on the gelding moving forward. GENERAL As L Cassidy became indisposed after the running of race 5, riding changes were made as per the race day summary sheet. L Cassidy will require a medical clearance before resuming race riding. Race 1: BRISBANE'S SUMMER OF RACING 2YO Quality Handicap 1200 metres COLLAY'S SPIRIT (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home-turn. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Lost off fore plate in running. YOU'LL BE MIST – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. SHAJAEA – The saddle on the gelding required re-adjusting on arrival behind the barriers. IT'S ALL TALK – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Race 2: TAB 2020 COUNTRY STAMPEDE FINAL NMW Last 2 Years 1110 metres RAIDEN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight ZUKAZ – Hampered approaching the 900 metres. Rider T Brummell was reprimanded under AR132(5) for use of the whip on fifteen occasions in totality. MEDIA VITA – Checked near the 900 metres. P Hamblin, rider of HARD STRIDE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ABSOLUTE BONZA which was taken in resulting in MEDIA VITA being checked. ZUKAZ, WICKED EXPRESS, ANSINNA and DISTRICT, all of which were racing to the inside of MEDIA VITA, were hampered in consequence and lost ground. The license of P Hamblin to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence midnight 12th December up to and including midnight 25th December 2020. Disappointed for a run leaving the 300 metres between DISTRICT and DIGGITY. A short distance later was steadied when DISTRICT shifted out to improve. TAPA – Steadied passing the 800 metres to avoid the heels of HARD STRIDE which shifted in when not fully clear. P Hamblin, rider of HARD STRIDE, was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to show greater care. ABSOLUTE BONZA – After being loaded into the barriers was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and subsequently cleared to start. Taken in and hampered near 1000 metres. MUIRON – Checked near 900 metres to avoid the heels of WICKED EXPRESS which laid in despite the efforts of its rider. WICKED EXPRESS – Hampered approaching the 1000 metres and a short distance later laid in despite the efforts of its rider. DRAYMAN – Checked approaching the 800 metres. G Geran, rider of TAPA , pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ESSAKA resulting in that runner being taken in across the running of DRAYMAN which was tightened for room and had to be checked. The license of G Geran to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 13th December up to and including midnight 24th December. PALLADIAN – Eased down over the final 400 metres of the event and passing the finishing line collapsed on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed PALLADIAN had suffered a catastrophic cardiac episode. Post mortem urine and blood samples were taken from PALLADIAN. ANSINNA – Hampered near the 900 metres. Race 3: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1600 metres TOKORIKI LAD – Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be suffering from heat stress. PLITVICE – laid out under pressure in the home straight MAGSTOCK (NZ) – Slow into stride. ADVANCE WARNING – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 400 metres and 250 metres. Race 4: TAB 2020 COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE FINAL NMW Last 2 Years 1600 metres SPLITZ – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Rider R Maloney reported the gelding failed to stride out at any stage of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of SPLITZ revealed no abnormalities. DRUMBEAT'S CHOICE – As R Wiggins was ill, Stewards permitted J Byrne to ride the gelding. PROANE – Slow to begin after jumping awkwardly. MY COUSIN BOSSY – Over-raced near the 1200 metres and in doing so shifted in and crowded MARTIAL ART. GALAPAGOS – Raced four wide with cover in the early and middle stages. REGAL REECE – Raced four wide without cover in the early and middle stages before being forced wider on the track from the 700 metres. MAQUEREAU – Raced three wide with cover throughout. MARTIAL ART – Crowded near the 1200 metres. FAB'S COWBOY – Caught four wide in the early stages before racing three wide without cover for the remainder of the event. RITCHFORD – Lost off fore plate in running. Race 5: ROKU GIN WINNING RUPERT PLATE 1200 metres MISHANI FRAUDSTER – Raced three wide without cover throughout SAFEWORK – Approaching the 600 metres was bumped when racing tightly to the inside of ACROBATIC. Shifted out under pressure near the 150 metres. ACROBATIC – Bumped at the start. SHOOTING FOR GOLD – Held up for clear running between the 400 metres and the 250 metres. THUNDER MANIA – Slow to begin and then hampered a short distance later by ACROBATIC which was taken inwards by GOLDSBOROUGH. Passing the 300 metres bumped by ACROBATIC when held up on the heels of SAFEWORK. GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Jumped in at the start. Shortly after passing the 800 metres eased off the heels of APACHE CHASE which shifted in after being bumped by KAVAK. ROGUE ROCKER – Slow to begin. Made the turn into the home straight awkwardly. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 150 metres to the inside of THUNDER MANIA which shifted out and away from SAFEWORK. Race 6: QUEENSLAND IS GOOD TO GO OPEN QUALITY Handicap 2000 metres SO YOU WIN – Laid under pressure in the home straight. A MAN TO MATCH – Crowded on jumping. ROMAKASH (NZ) – Steadied from heels approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Race 7: KIDNEY HEALTH AUSTRALIA Class 6 Plate 1350 metres The start of this event was delayed approximately 5 minutes when WIDESPREAD cast its off fore plate and required farriery attention. ENTERPRISE PRINCE – Approaching the 300 metres had to be eased from the heels of SHADOW OF TIME which lost ground after being carried out by GREAT KEPPELL which in turn was taken out by METSON which was inclined to lay out. METSON – Rider J Orman reported the gelding was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of METSON revealed no abnormalities. SHADOW OF TIME – Over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Race 8: TAB GEORGE MOORE STAKES 1200 metres HARD EMPIRE – Slow to begin. OUTBACK BARBIE – Raced three wide throughout without cover. SPURCRAFT – Slow to begin after beginning awkwardly. RIVER RACER – Slow to begin. Race 9: XXXX MODE PLATE 1200 metres GOTTA KISS – Bumped and carried wider rounding the home turn. DUSTY TYCOON – Rider D Smith was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres, two more than permitted. STAROSA – Held up early stages of the home straight. HANCORA FIELD – Raced four wide throughout without cover. PLUTOCRAT – Over-raced in the early stages of the event. Raced three wide with cover throughout. FREYA'S CLOAK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. BAD BARISTA – Dipped making the home turn and then momentarily held up for clear running near the 300 metres. AVIEMORE – Raced three wide throughout.
