Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
This race was delayed two minutes when a number of the runners prove difficult to load.
 
IN'HINCHABLE – Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISHANI PHAROAH – Trainer L Ross was disappointed how the gelding weakened in the straight and intends to trial the horse again.  He further added that the gelding will appreciate races over a further distance than that of todays.
 
COCO ROX – Bumped heavily at the start by WHISTLING LOREN and taken in onto REAL DEVINE.
 
CRYMENOTEARS – Raced three wide in the early stages until near the 750m.
 
DOVETAIL DIVA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
WHISTLING LOREN – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with COCO ROX. Raced in restricted room near 750m to the inside of DOVETAIL DIVA. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the off-fore. Trainer P Butterworth was advised that the filly will require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing again.
 
REAL DIVINE – Hampered at the start.
 
Race 2: HELLBENT FIRST CROP AT INGLIS CLASSIC Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
TAYELLA became fractious in the tie up stalls and as a result underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be lame in the off-hind leg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.03pm. All monies invested on TAYELLA were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.03pm:
 
17 cents in the dollar for the winner – RED RUBI
18 cents in the dollar for the place of winner- RED RUBI
22 cents in the dollar for 2nd place – LOUD NOISE
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place – DANEZEL
 
Trainer T. Edmonds was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required for TAYELLA before the mare races again.
 
READY TO CHASE – Over-raced in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure the home straight.
 
RIGHT REASON – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
APPLICATIONS – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 3: SKY RACING Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
As Josh Adams was indisposed due to illness, the Stewards approved Ben Thompson as the rider DESERT KNIGHT.
 
EURO BELLE – Raced fiercely in the early stages and had to be steadied from the heels of RACING PARADISE near the 700m. Hung in near the 600m and bumped  BIG BAD BRUCE. Shifted in on the home turn and bumped BIG BAD BRUCE and became unbalanced.
 
SMOOTH MOVE – Was inclined to hang out near the 800m. Had to be steadied near the 500m when tightened by the weakening DESERT KNIGHT.
 
BIG BAD BRUCE – Slow to begin. Tightened for room near the 600m by EURO BELLE which shifted in. Bumped on the home turn. Held up for clear running over the final stages when awkwardly placed on the heels of SMOOTH MOVE.
 
RACING PARADISE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Following this race the track was upgraded to a Soft 5.
 
Race 4: CASCADE Class 4 Handicap 1615 metres
 
 
SMILING TOUCH – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages and was allowed to stride forward to race outside the leader near the 700m.
 
PRINNY'S SUCCESS -Slow to begin.
 
WATCH THE CAT – Slow to begin.
 
CHAMPAGNE AUNTY – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHIAKI – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
Race 5: XXXX DRY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
BETTER GET READY – Raced three wide without cover
 
BROADWATER – Raced three wide with cover.
 
HEAD LEGISLATOR – Trainer advised will be ridden further back in the field with cover. The  horse was ridden accordingly
 
HEY BIG SPLENDA – Held up for clear running in the early part of the early part of the straight and after obtaining a narrow run to the inside of A GOOD CHANCE shifted out and bumped that runner.
 
MACEDON FLYER – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MORE THAN VALUE – Slow to begin. Hung in approaching the 600m and struck the heels of BROADWATER and blundered.
 
DANSANT- Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
PURPLE DIAMOND – Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m.
 
A GOOD CHANCE – Trainer advised will be ridden more forward today. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
Race 6: MOUNT FRANKLIN BM70 Handicap 2020 metres
 
METEOR LIGHT – Raced three wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to race outside the leader near the 1400m.
 
YOUNGBLOOD – Rider T Harrison was fined $300 under the provisions of AR 132 (5) for excessive use of the whip in that she used the whip on 16 occasions, 2 more than permitted.
 
 
BECKFORD -Slow to begin. Shifted out to improve near the 600m and bumped FLENSBURG.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA – Commenced to weaken from the 500m. Trainer K Johnson will drop the gelding back in distance in future starts.
 
 
FLENSBURG – Bumped by BECKFORD which shifted to improve near the 600m.
 
THE DARK – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding found it to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer S Morrisey was advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness together with the results of an endoscopic examination prior to THE DARK being permitted to race again.
 
Race 7: BRC GIRL’S DAY OUT 20 MARCH Class 1 Plate 1200 metres
 
SHAME JOB – Shifted out to improve near 500m tightening runners to his outside.

THE CHOSEN ONE – Slow to begin.
 
OURCONI – Carried wider near 500m.
 
TRAMONTO – Over-raced in the early stages and had to be eased near the 800m when steadied from the heels of VIOLATION. Rider G Cartwright (VIOLATION) was advised to provide greater clearance to her fellow riders in similar circumstances. Rider M Cahill could offer no tangible explanation to the gelding failing to respond to his riding in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer K Fogden was advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance for the gelding together with the results of an endoscopic examination.
 
GAELIC PUZZLE – Rider M Rodd reported at scale the mare was not comfortable in its action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be short striding in the off fore and had lost its near fore plate.
 
WHO SAID SO – Carried wider near 500m.
 
Race 8: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BM70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
UNCONDITIONAL – Severely hampered at the start when YU LONG SHENG HUI shifted out.
 
REBEL SALUTE – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
STANDING OVATION – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
ZOULOU DANCER – Slow to begin.
 
YU LONG SHENG HUI – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped UNCONDITIONAL. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
