QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BRISBANE RACING CLUB @ DOOMBEN DOOMBEN – SATURDAY 13th FEBRUARY 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4, Good 3 after Race 4 RAIL – 1.5 metres entirePENETROMETER – 5.7 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P ChadwickStewards – D Aurisch, P Zimmermann, R Hanson, P Kennedy, K DalyClerk of Scales – T NorthJudge – R Thomas, I Schultz, M MawhinneyVeterinarian – Dr M LenzSwab Attendants – L Chaplin, J Pedofsky, A ChallenStarter – R Smith, S Lister GENERAL Rider T Wolfgram pleaded guilty to a charge under AR115(1)(a) in that he did misconduct himself after the running of Race 7 by way of inappropriate comments directed to stable foreman Mr L Kelly Jnr. T Wolfgram was fined the sum of $500, of which $250 is to be wholly suspended under AR283(a) dependent upon T Wolfgram not re-offending under this rule for the next 12 months. Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE Class 3 Plate 1050 metres CHICO MILAGRO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced and improved onto heels near the 750 metres, shifted out and raced three wide without cover from that point onwards. Laid under pressure in the home straight. ICED – Jumped outwards at the start. SPINNING SPIRIT – Difficult to load, then became fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Trainer J Hanna was advised the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. Momentarily held up near the 300 metres and then inclined to lay in under pressure from that point onwards. Race 2: BRC MEMBERSHIP QTIS 3YO Fillies Handicap 1200 metres LITTLE RIVER was declared a late scratching at 1:00pm when the filly refused to load. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on LITTLE RIVER be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply: 1st MIAMI FLEISS 14c win, 5c place2nd GEORGIE’S PRIDE 30c place3rd SHANJOMI n/a Co-trainer S O’Dea was advised LITTLE RIVER must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. SHANJOMI – Slow into stride. Race 3: XXXX DRY QTIS 3YO Colts & Geldings Handicap 1200 metres BLUE KENTUCKY MOON – From wide barrier restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. IRISH THUNDER – Over-raced in the early stages. Rider M Cahill reported his saddle shifted back shortly after the start and placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. ALPHA GO – Fractious leaving the enclosure and rider dislodged. On arrival at barriers ALPHA GO underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start. Checked passing the 100 metres. M Du Plessis, rider of BI TURBO was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 100 metres he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount after shifting out under riding into the rightful running of ALPHA GO which had to be checked. The license of M Du Plessis to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days to commence midnight 21st February up to and including midnight 28th February 2021. Race 4: CANADIAN CLUB QTIS 2YO Handicap 1050 metres MISHANI DELIGHT – Held up rounding the home-turn. BETTER OFF – Began very awkwardly and lost significant ground. GLORIOUS RUBY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. HAMLET VON SNITZEL – Tactics change, to be ridden forward with cover. Bumped heavily on jumping. Over-raced near the 800 metres when racing three wide. Raced wide from that point onwards. GEMELON BOLT – Jumped inwards at the start. BARISTASISTA – Jumped outwards at the start. SUTTO'S GAL – Over-raced in the early stages. Rider M Du Plessis reported the filly was inclined to lay out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of SUTTO’S GIRL revealed the filly to be suffering from atrial fibrillation. Trainer K Kemp was advised SUTTO’S GIRL would require a veterinary clearance, including a satisfactory ECG result, and must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. Race 5: MOUNT FRANKLIN RATINGS BAND 0 - 70 Handicap 1350 metres BUSHIDO – Laid out rounding the home-turn. GOOD CHAT – Began awkwardly. ZOULOU DANCER – Slow to muster speed. YU LONG SHENG HUI – Slow to begin. PORTUGUESE TART – Restrained at the start from the wide draw to obtain a rearward position closer to the rails. Race 6: RACECOURSE VILLAGE No Metro Wins Handicap 1350 metres TAKE TEA – Crowded for room on jumping. Held up and unable to improve from the 600 metres until near the 500 metres. BRYNEICH – As apprentice S Tomlinson was unable to claim his full allowance, Stewards permitted apprentice A Thompson to ride the gelding. S Tomlinson was fined $300 for negligence which led to a breach of AR143(14)(b). WHAT THE FUSS – Jumped outwards at the start. JETSKI – The saddle on the gelding was readjusted on arrival at the barriers. ESKDALE GIRL – Hampered at the start. Race 7: SKY RACING OPEN Handicap 1350 metres ALWARD – Slow to begin. VICTORY EIGHT – From wide barrier draw restrained to a rearward position shortly after the start. GREY MISSILE – Lost near fore plate in running. SOCIALISING – Slow to begin. BOLD WARRIOR – Awkwardly placed at the heels of GREY WARRIOR near the 800 metres. A short distance later when over-racing was shifted out three wide. THE FIRE TRAP – From wide barrier draw restrained to a rearward position shortly after the start. Race 8: BRC GIRLS DAY OUT 20 MARCH BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1600 metres SIR BARNABUS – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home-turn and entering the home straight raced in restricted room to the inside of MOMENTUM TO WIN and had to be steadied. BEAUFORT PARK – Near the 1200 metres over-raced on heels and had to be steadied. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. RAQEEQ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the nearside mouth. MASTER SHUHOOD – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages. DISSOLUTION – Slow to begin. MANGIONE – Slow to begin. LI'L RODGE – Over-raced and pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event. Race 9: BRC LIKE NOWHERE ELSE IN BNE Class 6 Plate 1200 metres ELIXIR – Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. ZIEMBA – Lost off hind plate in running. BUCKIN' BEAUTY – As J Orman was stood down by the club doctor, Stewards permitted T Wolfgram to ride the mare. J Orman was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride. UNGUARDED – Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. RUUCA – Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. JAY JAY D'AR – Near the 100 metres eased when momentarily when crowded for room to the inside of PARKO.
