SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GOLD COAST – RACE 3 – APG WORKFORCE 3YO QUALITY HCP – 1100M
 
RUBIQUITOUS – Trainer C Anderson advised that RUBIQUITOUS underwent an endoscopic examination following its disappointing performance which established that mucus was present in its trachea and it will now be sent for a short spell.
 
GENERAL
 
As Noel Callow was unable to fulfill his engagements due to personal reasons, changes were permitted as per raceday summary.
 
Race 1: TURNER FREEMAN LAWYERS QTIS 3YO BM65 HCP – 1350M
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Near the 1000m was forced wider when VIENNA EMPRESS shifted out abruptly. As a result, R Fradd elected to push forward due to a moderate tempo and assume the lead rather than be caught wide.
 
MERIMEE – Bumped on jumping.
 
SAINT BARTHOLOMEW – Raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied from the heels of MONDAY MONDAY near the 1000m.
 
MONDAY MONDAY – Began awkwardly shifting in. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
VIENNA EMPRESS – Knuckled on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages and shifted out abruptly taking VETTA VELOCITA wider on the track. Jockey R Stewart reported that the filly felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be lame in the off knee. Trainer M Taylor was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to its next start.
 
Race 2: WINDSOR MANAGEMENT INSURANCE BROKERS F&M MDN PLT – 1350M
 
JEWEL FLIGHT (NZ) – Near the 1100m had to be steadied from the heels of UZERLI which shifted in abruptly when racing ungenerously.
 
KERCHARMER – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice J Lloyd was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. (8th Offence)
 
NICCONI REBEL – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
ROMAN REIGN – Slow to begin.
 
TANGO TINO – Knuckled on jumping.
 
UZERLI – Raced greenly in the early stages shifting in abruptly passing the 1100m.
 
Race 3: ELECTRICAL TRADES UNION QLD & NT C4 HCP - 1200M
 
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 800m and after taking evidence from J Orman (MONTENEGRO MAN), A Mallyon(CONFIDANT) and apprentice K Wilson-Taylor (LEROYTHECONQUEROR), it was established that whilst both LEROYTHECONQUEROR & CONFIDANT suffered significant interference due to the speed of the race appearing to steady at that point, Stewards, when considering the evidence, were satisfied that J Orman did not reduce the speed excessively and therefore could not be held culpable under the rules and the incident was noted.
 
LEROYTHECONQUEROR – Began awkwardly losing ground. Approaching the 800m when overracing had to be severely checked from the heels of CONFIDANT when the speed eased and lost significant ground as a result.
 
ABLE MABEL – Jockey M Du Plessis reported his mount was inclined to lay in near the 700m.
 
CONFIDANT – Approaching the 800m had to be checked from the heels of MONTENEGRO MAN when the speed eased. A post-race veterinary examination revealed multiple lacerations on its hock and cannon.
 
ALPENDURADA – Commenced to overrace approaching the 800m, had to be steadied for several strides and forced wider.
 
SIR PICCOLO – Forced wider near the 800m when the speed eased.
 
Race 4: CFMEU QLD/NT BRANCH C,G&E MDN PLT – 1350M
 
MANHATTAN MOJO – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISTER QUICKSTEP – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1000m commenced to overrace badly, shifted wider and proved difficult to settle. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
MOUNT HIMMLER – Forced wide at the 800m by ENUNCIATION who was taken out by REGAL EDITION.
 
REGAL EDITION – Approaching the 1000m commenced to overrace, shifted out abruptly and continued to race ungenerously forcing ENUNCIATION and MOUNT HIMMLER wider on the track near the 800m. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
VLADKING – Slow to begin. Held up to a point near the 300m.
 
ENUNCIATION – Began awkwardly. Forced wider by REGAL EDITION near the 1000m and near the 800m was again forced wider by REGAL EDITION and had to be checked for several strides.
 
Race 5: CFMEU MINING & ENERGY UNION QLD DISTRICT C3 HCP – 1640M
 
DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Contacted the running rail when attempting a narrow run to the inside of TYCOON BELLA near the 200m.
 
MAKEDON – Near the 200m was forced to race in restricted room when SIENNA’S CHOICE (J Byrne) laid in under pressure. J Byrne was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
AUSBRED COOEE – Laid in rounding the 800m turn.
 
TYCOON BELLA – Shifted out shortly after the start and made the first turn awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 200m for several strides.
 
DONANDKIM – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BLACKBOOTS – Slow to begin. Tightened and lost ground near the 800m when AUSBREED COOEE laid in.
 
OUR FRAULEIN – Approaching the 1000m, when racing keenly shifted out to avoid the heels of SIENNA’S CHOICE and was then obliged to race wide for the remainder.
 
Race 6: BERT / CIP C1 PLT – 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately three minutes due to DEEP ROUGE being difficult to load. Trainer B Lockwood was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of DEEP ROUGE in relation to being difficult to load.
 
SAM’S A NATURAL – Hampered and taken wider on jumping. Overraced in the early stages and passing the 800m bumped with LOVE’S BEST HOPE.
 
ALE MAGIC – Contacted and taken wider on jumping.
 
DEEP ROUGE – Had difficulty obtaining a clear run leaving the 100m when tightened for racing room between FUNNY MONEY and DELUSIONAL which rolled out.
 
DELUSIONAL – Began awkwardly shifting in. Laid out near the 80m mark before being corrected by its rider.
 
LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Bumped passing the 800m.
 
FUNNY MONEY – Bumped shortly after jumping.
 
BOOMKO – Shifted out on jumping contacting ALE MAGIC.
 
Race 7: QLD COUNCIL OF UNIONS BM70 HCP – 1350M
 
DOMINARCHER – Bumped on jumping.
 
MOONAN ME – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
MOCAMBO – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.
