GENERAL
Due to current Covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 5: ASHERLA – A Mallyon 56kgs (+0.5kg)
Race 6: MOUNT HEIDI – M Cahill 54.5kgs (+0.5kg)
 
Race 1: 4 AUSSIE HEROES FOUNDATION QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden
Plate 1110 metres
 
BOOM COURT – Slow to begin.
 
CAPITAL TOWER – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
OUR HEART THROB – Over the final stages when shifting out to improve bumped with ZOUSON BOY.
 
ZOUSON BOY – Over-raced at the heels of CAPITAL TOWER near the 850 metres and had to be restrained. Bumped over the concluding stages when OUR HEART THROB shifted out to improve.
 
BELLA BIANCA – Jumped in at the start and bumped heavily with CAPITAL TOWER.
 
MISHANI SUPREME – After being loaded into the barriers became fractious, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
Race 2: DRS PROJECTS PTY LTD Maiden Plate 1640 metres
 
ASHER – Change of tactics, more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Bumped on jumping. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
DAULAT ULTI MAIORA – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the gelding was readjusted. Began awkwardly and jumped in at the start. Over-raced near the 800 metres and had to be restrained from the heels of NORTH ROCKS and a short distance later raced in restricted room when KITTYKITTYBANGBANG improved to its inside. Rider reported the saddle on the gelding shifted forward during the race which may have placed him at some disadvantage.
 
THAT'LLDOTOO – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer J Sweeney was advised the gelding would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.
 
ADALISSA – Near the 1300 metres over-raced and had to be restrained from the heels of GIVEITALLALI.
 
COERCED – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 250 metres.
 
DELAVIGNE – Rider S Cormack reported the mare was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
 
GIVEITALLALI – Bumped on jumping away. When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance, Trainer S Cole stated he was not disappointed with the horse’s most recent start at the Sunshine Coast on 2nd November where he felt GIVEITALLALI was unlucky and was confident of a forward showing today.
 
JEWEL FLIGHT (NZ) – Rider B Thompson reported the horse travelled comfortably in the run however when placed under pressure did not let down as expected and was disappointing.
 
RED VEGAS – Slow to begin.
 
VITAE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: 4 AUSSIE HEROES FOUNDATION QTIS Three-Year-Old
Maiden Plate 1640 metres
 
GLOBAL SENSATION – Near the 400 metres improved to the inside of the tiring SIGNAL ROW and bumped heavily with A FAIR SWEAR on several occasions.
 
SCORPIO RISING (NZ) – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages before progressing forward to lead the event from the 1000 metres.
 
SIGNAL ROW – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres. When weakening near the 450 metres inconvenienced and taken wider on the track by KING’S CONTRACT.
 
ITZ PARIS – Near the 450 metres was obliged to steady after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of SIGNAL ROW which was taken out by KING’S CONTRACT which shifted out to improve. B Thornton, rider of KING’S CONTRADCT, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
 
Race 4: JORDAN ALLEN Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap
1050 metres
 
GANESH TALAI (SAF) – Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight allowing BELTARIA to improve to its inside approaching the 200 metres.
 
DEBUSSY – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages. Rider R Fradd reported he was disappointed with the finishing effort of DEBUSSY in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
TITANIUM – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages resulting in both DEBUSSY and CHIEF MONDO being placed in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
CHIEF MONDO – Bumped near the 800 metres. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
MAXIMUM OUTPUT – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.  
 
BELTARIA – Jumped out at the start and bumped TROPICS.
 
TROPICS – Bumped on jumping. Near the 800 metres improved onto the heels of GANESH TALAI, shifted out and bumped CHIEF MONDO.
 
 
 
Race 5: 4 AUSSIE HEROES FOUNDATION Fillies and Mares Class 1
Handicap 1050 metres
 
 
DRIZZLE – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.  
 
SINGLE MEMO – Slow to begin. When asked to explain apprentice J Lloyd stated when racing tightly to the inside of ME AS I AM near the 800 metres SINGLE MEMO shifted in of its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail and lost significant ground. Apprentice Lloyd added from that point the filly took time to gather momentum and he was obliged to pressure the SINGLE MEMO for the remainder of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A post-race swab sample was taken from SINGLE MEMO.
 
ASHERLA – Slipped in the saddling enclosure prior to the event, underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Jumped in at the start.
 
EXCEPTIONAL BELLE – Jumped out at the start.
 
Race 6: SKY RACING Class 4 Handicap 1640 metres
 
SMOKEY DIAMOND – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MOUNT HEIDI – Jumped in at the start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
PHANTOM COURT – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Crowded for room near the 400 metres when DONANDKIM shifted in momentarily.
 
CAIRNDOW – Bumped at the start when MOUNT HEIDI jumped in.
 
THE CARPENTER – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.  
 
 
 
Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MASTER RED – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. Raced in restricted room near the 700 metres.
 
CARRIBEAN KING (NZ) – Jumped in at the start. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BETTER GET READY – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
CONTESSA – Improved onto the heels of BETTER GET READY near the 700 metres and had to be steadied.
 
 
Race 8: XXXX DRY BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350 metres
 
LINTHORPE LAD – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.  
 
SMART STAR PRINCE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider R Maloney reported the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
THINK GLORY – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
DANISH FORTUNE – When the pace steadied near the 1000 metres raced ungenerously for some distance.
