SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Saturday 28th May: Following a report from the QRIC Race-day Integrity Investigation Team, Mr A Rivette, trainer’s representative for Mr B Widdup, was fined $400 under AR229(h) in that he made a misleading statement to an official in relation to a matter regarding stable practices involving GLOBALAL VENTURE and VULPINE which were engaged at Eagle Farm that day.  
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following weight variations:
Race 6: OAKALNI: L Cassidy 54.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
As R Maloney was ill replacements were made as per the Race Day summary sheet. R Maloney will require a medical clearance prior to his next race or trial ride.
 
 
Race 1: SKY RACING QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1615metres
 
LEINSTER – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 2: 2 GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Maiden Plate 1615metres
 
BULLET HERO – Near the 1100m became unbalanced and was forced wider on the track when RED HOT RUBIX shifted out abruptly. Raced three wide for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to showing mild signs of muscle soreness.
 
DOONICAN (IRE) – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event. Inside the final 100m was steadied from heels before shifting to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
GIANT THUNDER – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Rider M Du Plessis reported the horse was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event.
 
RED HOT RUBIX – Near the 1100m when over-racing shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider and made heavy contact with BULLET HERO which became unbalanced and was forced wider on the track.
 
NASSAU COUNTY – Raced three wide in the early stages. B Stewart, rider of NASSAU COUNTRY, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
DIAMOND DAGGER – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
CHAMPAGNE POP – From the wide barrier restrained at the start and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rails. Near the 300m improved onto the heels of UP TO ME before shifting out to shift out to obtain clear running. J Lloyd, rider of CHAMPAGNE POP, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
RICH DOCTOR – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer K Schweida was advised the horse would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 3: TAB VENUE MODE Class 3 Plate 1615metres
 
WITHOUT THINKING – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
CONTRITION (NZ) – Slow to begin. Held up on the heels of LUCKY EXCHANGE between the 600m and the home turn before shifting out to improve.
 
HOPEFUL STAR – Held up for clear running from the 600m until leaving the 300m.
 
DA PARTY GAL – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: CASCADE Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
AMBITIOUS SPIRIT – When asked to comment on the performance rider J Orman stated the horse was unable to quicken on the heavy ground when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LEGEND I AM – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 700m.
 
KIRELLA SHORES – When the cross-over noseband was unable to be fitted, Stewards permitted the horse to race without gear. Over-raced for a short distance near the 900m and had to be steadied from heels. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Lost both hind plates in running.
 
 
Race 5: BRC BREAKFAST WITH THE STARS Class 1 Plate 1050 metres
 
FIELD REGIMENT – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
BOLT ACTION – After being loaded into the barriers broke through, was quickly restrained by the rider, underwent a veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Steadied momentarily near the 900m when racing in restricted room to the inside of WATACHOICE.
 
HIGHER – Slow to begin.
 
RALPHIE – Slow to begin. Over-raced for a short distance near the 600m and had to restrained from heels. Momentarily held up near the 250m before shifting out to improve. Lost off hind plate in running.
 
THUNDER MOON – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
KINDLING SPIRIT – After becoming fractious in the barriers underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Inclined to lay in and away from BOLT ACTION approaching the 900m.
 
BLINDING LIGHT – From the wide barrier restrained at the start and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rails.
 
WATACHOICE – Near the 900m was steadied after shifting in and away from INASEC.
 
 
Race 6: XXXX DRY BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 2200 metres
 
TOP ORDER – From the wide barrier restrained at the start and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rails.
 
CHAKANA (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
OUTLOOK – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LADY SOLERNO – As L Kilner was to be overweight, Stewards permitted A Patis to ride the horse. L Kilner was fined $200 under AR190(3). Left a midfield trailing position near the 1100m metres and progressed forward to race outside the leader from the 900m.
 
GO DARCY (NZ) – Rider T Harrison reported the horse was inclined to lay out throughout the race.
 
 
Race 7: MULLINS LAWYERS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1110 metres
 
SNAZZ 'N' CHARM – Bumped at the start.
 
DYNAMIC DUO – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
DEPTHS BELOW – Jumped in at the start and bumped SNAZZ’N’CHARM.
 
QUIZ SHOW – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SWEET SIXTEEN – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
CHERRY SODA – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 8: BRC CARNIVAL PLUS MEMBERSHIP Class 6 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MASS DESTRUCTION – Raced three wide without cover throughout. A Jones, rider of MASS DESTRUCTION, was advised of her obligations to ride her mounts out fully to the line. 
 
PULL ANCHOR – From the wide barrier restrained at the start and shifted behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rails.
 
PUNTURA (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
ORBISYN – Raced keenly when leading the event. When asked to comment on the performance rider C Robertson advised the horse was first up today after a lengthy break and in his opinion would derive fitness benefit from today’s race run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. A routine post-race swab sample was taken from ORBISYN.
 
DREAMTIMER – Stewards permitted apprentice S Tomlinson to ride the horse claiming only 2.5kg of his 3kg allowance. S Tomlinson was fined $400 under AR143(14).
 
ACROBATIC – Approaching the finish line was bumped by GLITTER STRIP which shifted in marginally after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ORBISYN.
 
 
Race 9: STRADBROKE SEASON BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
PEACOCK – Over-raced in the early stages. Following the event trainer S Kumpikas advised Stewards the horse had pulled up with filling in the off foreleg and that PEACOCK would now be retired. Ms Kumpikas was advised if circumstances were to change PEACOCK must trail satisfactorily and would also require a veterinary clearance.
 
CROCKETT – Rounding the home turn became awkwardly placed at the heels of WHITEWATER.
 
RIOT ACT – Blundered on jumping.
 
TRIPLE ARROW – J Lloyd, rider of TRIPLE ARROW, was advised of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the line.
