Lister Race 1: 1 MEKKA RACES ON SALE NOW QTIS Three-Year-Old MaidenHandicap 1200 metres BLUE RAY - Bumped at the start. MAPLE DOOR – Bumped at the start and lost ground. BOLD RANSOM – Over-raced in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels at the 800m. bumped approaching the 200m when MAPLE DOOR shifted out to improve and then raced in restricted room for a short distance. AGOSTINI – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. VACCINE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started for a significant period of time and was passed fit to start. Obliged to steady from heels approaching the 800m. GOSSIP COLUMN – Raced wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 700m. PRETTY FLASH – Jumped awkwardly. Raced three wide with cover throughout. SUPER SWEET – Held up approaching the home turn. Shifted in approaching the 100m and bumped CELTIC EMPRESS. CELTIC EMPRESS – Approaching the 100m whilst weakening, was bumped by SUPER SWEET and was then steadied from the heels of that runner. T. Brooker the rider of SUPER SWEET was advised to exercise greater in similar circumstances. ZATARA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed blood to be present in the near side nostril. Trainer T. Button was advised the gelding would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing again. Race 2: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 2070 metres STAR DIVA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Race 3: CASCADE Maiden Handicap 1660 metres The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to CEE EYE CEE undergoing a veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers. NOBLE CAT - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. NASSAU COUNTY – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to a position with cover. Rider L. Dittman advised stewards that the gelding felt awkward in its action and also had a tendency to hang out during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance of NASSAU COUNTY, trainer L. Mayfield-Smith advised stewards that he was at a lost to explain the disappointing performance however he felt that the gelding may not have found the track conditions to its liking as the gelding is somewhat tender heeled. Stewards advised Mr Mayfield-Smith that if anything was to come to light in the subsequent days that may have had a bearing on the performance of the gelding to advise stewards as soon as practicable. YANGARI – Slow to begin. Approaching the 50m improved onto the heels of NOBLE CAT and was obliged to shift wider to secure clear running. Rider J. Lloyd advised stewards that the gelding raced greenly in the home straight. CEE EYE CEE – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed blood to be present in the mouth of the gelding due to a laceration to the right side of its mouth region. CRITICAL THINKER – Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the lead approaching the 1000m. ALLBERIN – Slow to begin. Race 4: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1660 metres SELEQUE – Jumped awkwardly and was then bumped by BOLD WARRIOR. BOLD WARRIOR – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages when leading. DR VELOCIOUS (NZ) – Bumped by SELEQUE shortly after the start. SHEBRINGZIT – Slow to begin. Rider B. Thompson reported to stewards that the mare was under pressure from the 800m and failed to respond to his urgings. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be exhibiting clinical signs of atrial fibrillation. Trainer T. Gollan was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness inclusive of an ECG would be required prior to the mare completing a trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. Race 5: XXXX DRY Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres COLLEAGUES (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly. THE POWER OF ONE – Rider A. Patis reported to stewards that in her opinion the gelding raced flat. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.VIVYN – Raced three wide until the 700m. JEEHAAN – Slow to begin. BOOM STORM – Shifted out leaving the 200m after improving onto the heels of the tiring THE POWER OF ONE. FEAR THE NIGHT – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. KIKI COCO – Jumped awkwardly. Leaving the 200m was directed wider on the track to secure clear running. DIVENIRE – Jumped awkwardly. Obliged to shift inwards approaching the 200m after improving onto the heels of the tiring THE POWER OF ONE. Race 6: RACECOURSE VILLAGE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres THE KEWESS – Jumped awkwardly at the start and then shifted out and bumped CASTILE. CASTILE – Bumped at the start. Approaching the 150m had to be steadied from the heels PENTITO after being carried outward by THE KEWESS which was taken out slightly by HIGHER.PENTITO – Approaching the 700m improved onto heels and shifted out. BEAN DANCING – Raced three wide throughout. HIGHER – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 150m. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding rider J. Bryne advised stewards that HIGHER travelled well however failed to respond to his urgings in the home straight and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE Class 3 Plate 1200 metres COMMENTS - Restrained at the start to take up a position closer to the rail. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m. PASCAL – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover throughout. RARI - Raced three wide throughout. IN GREAT NIC – Jumped awkwardly. Apprentice J Lloyd pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) failing to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race and was fined $1000. In assessing this matter Stewards were comfortably satisfied that his actions had cost IN GREAT NIC 4th placing. Apprentice J. Lloyd was advised of his right to internal review. SIR PICCOLO – Restrained at the start to take up a position closer to the rail. CUTABRI – Rider S. Collett dropped her whip approaching the 250m. Race 8: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 72Handicap 1350 metres FORT WAYNE – Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 800m had to be steadied form heels. ALDERMAN – Laid out rounding the held turn. DONANDKIM – Slow to begin. Approaching the 800m had to be steadied form heels. MAGNUS BELLAGIO – Bumped shortly after the start with SERENA (NZ). APPLECROSS - Raced three wide with cover throughout. Hampered approaching the 250m when bumped by SECRET TALES. SECRET TALES – Jumped awkwardly. Shifted out to secure clear running approaching the 250m and bumped APPLECROSS. LEMON DUCHESS – Laid out in the middle stages. SERENA (NZ) – Bumped shortly after the start with MAGNUS BELLAGIO.
