QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BRISBANE RACING CLUB DOOMBEN – SATURDAY 06 AUGUST 2022 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Soft 5 RAIL – TruePENETROMETER – 5.69 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P ChadwickStewards – J Adams, P Zimmermann, A Schofield.Clerk of Scales – R Thomas.Judge – G Tozer, A Redding, M Mawhinney.Veterinarian – Dr G Cavanagh.Swab Attendants – J Pedofsky, A Challen, L Chaplin.Starter – H Anderson, R Smith. Race 1: DROUGHTMASTER AUSTRALIA 60TH ANNIVERSARY QTIS 3YO BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1200 metres Spiritualised – Bumped on jumping. Hang Five – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Mishani Persuasion – Began moderately. Laid out in the early part of the home straight and then in over the final 100m. Jockey S Collett was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. Demon Delivera – Raced keenly early. Race 2: FONZIE ABBOTT COFFEE CUP BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2000 metres Top Order – Bumped on jumping, then restrained from the wide barrier. Shepard (GB) – Trainer advised that the gelding will be ridden further forward. Unable to cross from the wide barrier and settled back in the field. Steadied from heels near the 1600m then raced keenly for a short distance. When over racing near the 1000m eased off heels and thereafter raced wide. Without Thinking – Performed below expectations and underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the near fore. Stable representative was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to competing again. Dunhill (NZ) – Trainer advised that the gelding will be ridden further forward. Unable to cross from the wide barrier and settled back in the field. Near the 1000m its rider elected to allow her mount to stride forward and then raced wide for the remainder. Dr Velocious (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Steadied from heels near the 1600m then raced keenly for a short distance. Prinente – Bumped on jumping. Red Light Roxanne – Near the 1600m was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of ZA CEIBAS which was carried in slightly by TAAFFEITE which was laying in. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Steadied from heels near the 100m when TOP ORDER rolled out slightly. Taaffeite (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Race 3: THE NEILSEN GROUP Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1110 metres Liza With A Zee – Bumped on jumping. Sonnet Star – Bumped on jumping and inconvenienced. Raced wide throughout and over raced in the middle stages. Rich Lister – Raced wide. Zaiteki – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Just Field - Trainer D Lane was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Fractious in the barriers. Had difficulty obtaining clear running at various stages in the home straight. Self Indulgent – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Inconvenienced near the 250m when ZAITEKI shifted in. When asked to comment on the mare’s performance R Maloney stated that the mare seemed reluctant to hold a position when racing tightly and suggested that blinkers may assist it in future starts. Maloney also added that being first up may have had a bearing on its performance. Zain's Girl – Began awkwardly. Love My Super – Checked between runners at the start and lost ground. Outback Heights – Bumped on jumping. Eased down in the straight when its rider was dissatisfied with its action. Post-race veterinary examination revealed a low heart rate. Trainer M Kropp advised that it was his intention to continue with its preparation should the mare pull up well in the ensuing days. Ahika – Bumped after beginning awkwardly. Race 4: TRILBY MISSO LAWYERS Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1110 metres Proper Rogue – Slow to begin after beginning awkwardly. Tightened near the 700m and inconvenienced when MIRICLE DAY laid in and hampered again by MIRACLE DAY approaching the home turn. Wudang Blade – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Kavak – Trainer R Tyrell was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Fasano – Slow to begin. Obliged to steady near the 900m when PROPER ROGUE shifted in and away from MIRACLE DAY. Miracle Day – Laid in at various stages throughout. Iring – Raced wide. Disappointed for a run near the 250m and obliged to steady. He's The News –Began awkwardly Master Red – Raced wide. Race 5: TAB NATIONAL JOCKEYS CELEBRATION DAY Class 6 Handicap 1600 metres Prior to correct weight, the start was reviewed to ascertain if DON’T STOP was afforded a fair start. On review it was established that DON’T STOP was facing the gates and as the start was effected then turned and dropped its head. Stewards on review were satisfied that the gelding missed the start due to its own actions and correct weight was declared. Get The Idea – Began awkwardly. Don't Stop – Fractious in the barriers, turned and dropped its head as the start was effected and lost ground. Near the 1500m, inconvenienced when racing in restricted room to the inside of COUNT THE COIN which was carried in by OCEAN TREATY. Couldn't Refuse – Held up rounding the home and until near the 150m. Count The Coin – Slow to begin. Tightened for racing room near the 1500m when OCEAN TREATY shifted in. Donandkim – Slow to begin. Race 6: GRANDDAD JACK'S CRAFT DISTILLERY BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1350 metres Giannis – Bumped on jumping. Joviality – Inclined to lay out throughout. Shifted wider near the 900m. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Aussie Nugget (IRE) – Buffeted on jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running over the final 200m. Bargannon – Momentarily forced wider near the 900m when JOVIALITY hung and shifted out. Jakama – Slow to begin. Oakfield Twilight – Began awkwardly. Steadied near the 1000m when EXCELMAN crossed when not fully clear. Jockey T Harrison was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident. The Pines – Slow to begin. Rollinwiththeflow – Obliged to steady near the 1000m when EXCELMAN crossed when not fully clear. Jockey T Harrison was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident. Excelman- Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting clinical signs of the ‘Thumps”. Race 7: NAVASKA FACILITES MANAGEMENT One Metro Win Handicap 1200 metres Gogol – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Raced in restricted room over the final 50m. Edit (NZ) – Slow to begin. Rock Amore – Performed poorly and underwent a post-race veterinary examination which determined that the gelding had cardiac arrythmia. Trainer T Gollan was advised that a veterinary clearance, which include an ECG would be required and ROCK AMORE would also be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Thunder Mania – Began moderately. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Approaching the home turn when attempting to shift wider bumped with VOLFONI. Manhood – Dipped passing the 300m. Volfoni – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Bumped approaching the home turn. Race 8: PLACE ASCOT + NUNDAH OPEN Handicap 1200 metres Bandipur – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Desert Lord – Over raced middle stages. Haunted – Bumped on jumping. Lost the near fore plate. Ligulate – Slow to begin. Greyworm – Began awkwardly, making contact with the barriers on jumping. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Garibaldi – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Laid in over the final 200m. Boomtown Lass – Bumped on jumping. Sir Rocket – Began awkwardly, bumped, and became unbalanced. Held up for clear running between the 400m and 250m. Raced in restricted room and steadied near the winning post. Apprentice A Jones was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR132(a) for this incident. Race 9: BROTHERS RUGBY CLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 78 Handicap 1350 metres El Buena – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Stable representative was advised that the gelding would be stood for 3 months and be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming. Rubamos – Approaching the 300m was awkwardly placed on the heels of FOREIGN TERRITORY. Laid in between the 300m and 200m. Muiron – Blundered on jumping dislodging its rider. Jockey L Tarrant appeared to be unharmed and walked back to barriers before being transported back to the jockey’s room. Jockey Tarrant advised that he did not require any assistance or medical examination. Moonan Me – Raced wide. Laid out over the final 200m. Swanston – Raced wide. Love Sensation – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and 200m. Why We Drink – Raced wide.
