QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BRISBANE RACING CLUB DOOMBEN - STAURDAY 20 AUGUST 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – 2 MPENETROMETER – 5.65 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Peter ChadwickStewards – D Aurisch, G Goold, P KennedyClerk of Scales – BRC Judge – R Thomas, G TozerVeterinarian – Dr S FlynnSwab Attendants – A Challen, L ChaplinStarter – R Smith, H Anderson GENERAL Race6 – CHOCOLATIER – Co-trainers Corey & Kylie Geran were fined $300 under the provisions of LR 36(6) for failing to scratch the gelding, which was a dual acceptor at today’s meeting by the required time. Race 8 – TUMBLER RIDGE - Co-trainers Matt Hoysted & Steven O’Dea were fined $300 under the provisions of LR 36(6) for failing to scratch the gelding, which was a dual acceptor at today’s meeting by the required time. Race 1: XXXX DRY Class 3 Plate 1050 metres Trainer Jason Edwards was fined $200 under the provisions of LR 68 (1) for failing to scratch DREAM WEAVING by the required time. The mare was subsequently a late scratching at 8.10am by the order of the Stewards. CARRIBEAN KING – Shifted in near 900m when not fully clear of KINGSCOTE. SKILORD – Jumped awkwardly. Put in an awkward stride over the final stages. VAPORIZING - A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. ALLEZ ZOU – Jumped awkwardly. BE WATER MY FRIEND – Slow to begin. KINGSCOTE - Restrained from the heels of CARRIBEAN KING near the 900m. Over-raced middle stages when racing three wide. Rider J Orman pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A131(a) for permitting CARRIBEAN KING to shift in when not being sufficiently clear of KINGSCOTE. J Orman had his license to ride in races suspended for 7 days to commence at midnight 28.8.22 and to expire at midnight 4.9.22. MUSCHIALLI – Raced three wide throughout NED'S GULLY – Hampered at start. Over-raced in the early stages. Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight between the 300m and 100m. Race 2: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1350 metres HANG FIVE – Taken wider near the 900m for a short distance. Rider B Thompson reported at scale the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, however failed to quicken rounding the home turn when the pace quickened and didn’t sprint as expected in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from mild heat stress. COOL 'N' READY – Over-raced in the early stages. EXECUTIVE STRESS – Was awkwardly placed at heels between the 150m and the 50m. DEMON DELIVERA – Jumped awkwardly and bumped THE MISSIONARY. THE MISSIONARY – Hampered at start. When over-racing in the early stages, shifted out approaching the 900m and bumped HANG FIVE. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. WESTERN HALO – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: GRANT BURGE WINE DINNER 31 AUGUST OPEN Handicap 1350 metres GO WANDJI – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout. PLENTY – Over-raced badly in the early stages and raced three wide over the final 800m. WHAM – Was inclined to lay in when awkwardly placed at the heels of ROLLINGWITHTHEFLOW in the early stages of the home straight. OAKFIELD TWILIGHT – Was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the request of the rider when arriving at the barriers and passed fit to start. Race 4: SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2200 metres The start was delayed when SHEPARD, which contacted the fence upon entering the track was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. STUBAI – Raced wide throughout. WINDERMERE – Raced wide throughout. Rider R Maloney stated the mare weakened badly over the final 600m and didn’t feel entirely comfortable in its action. Trainer Renita Beaton advised that the intention now is to retire the mare. SHEPARD - Examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and was cleared to start. Rider M Du Plessis stated that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages however compounded over the final 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Trainer D. Forster advised she would have the horse scoped and would forward the results to stewards prior to its next start. BROWN THOMAS – Shifted out to improve on the home turn and bumped heavily with ZA CEIBAS upon entering the home straight. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor was advised to show more care when shifting ground. ZA CEIBAS – Over-raced in the early stages when racing three wide until near the 1300m. Bumped heavily by BROWN THOMAS when that runner shifted out to improve at the entrance to the straight. CONTRITION – Raced three wide throughout. THAT'LLDOTOO – Raced three wide in the early stages and was ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 1200m. Apprentice A Jones stated that having to work in the early stages and being up in class today resulted in the gelding weakening badly from the 500m. Race 5: CASCADE Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres DEEP SCEIVA – Over-raced in the early stages. Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 200m. DARIALINA BELLE – Shifted out to improve near the 250m and bumped IN AWE OF ME. IN AWE OF ME – Bumped by DARALINA BELLE near the 250m. MISS DEVINE – Over-raced badly in the early stages. Race 6: BRC MEMBERSHIP 2022-23 BENCHMARK 80 Handicap1600 metres SIR BARNABUS – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages.GET THE IDEA – Slow to begin. EIGER - Will be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. JAKAMA – Bumped with BARGANNON near the 1000m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Race 7: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY SEPTEMBER RATINGS BAND 0 - 72 Handicap 1600 metres JACK THE LAD – Hampered at start. DORSET COAST – Steadied when tightened for room by ALDERMAN which shifted in near the 150m. ALDERMAN – Trainer L Gough was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider by the required time. Shifted in near the 150m. POPULIST – Hampered at start. Race 8: SKY RACING Class 6 Plate 1350 metres SIR ROCKET – Shifted out away from RUBAMOS soon after the start. GETYOURGREYON – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. TESARC – Tightened for room soon after the start. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which weakened over the final 300m revealed it be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer M Currie must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to next start. AWESOME LAD – Tightened soon after start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. RUBAMOS – Hung out soon after the start. SAFEWORK – Raced three wide throughout Race 9: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres TAPPY'S ONE – Raced three wide throughout. Forced wider upon straightening. DESERT DREAMER – Held up for clear running in the home straight until the final stages. BONAPARTE – Shifted out in the early part of the home straight and bumped OVERSEAS. FACTORY WARRIOR – Slow into stride. BIG BAD BRUCE – Raced three wide throughout. OVERSEAS – Slow to begin. Bumped upon straightening.
