SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Sunshine Coast 11/11/22 Race 8
Trainer S Kendrick reported that following the disappointing performance of ZOUMETEOR the colt would be sent for a short spell and would compete in a trial or jump out prior to racing again.

From Sunshine Coast 6/11/22 Race 4
Sunshine Coast 15/11/22: Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the reasons for KAYLEEN, ridden by Luke Tarrant, falling near the 300m. After initial evidence was taken from all riders in the event, except for Luke Tarrant who had been transported to hospital, this matter was adjourned.
Further evidence was taken today from jockey Tarrant and jockey Les Tilley (LINRIC LASS). After considering the verbal evidence of the riders, the video evidence and stewards’ observations, it was established that LINRIC LASS (L Tilley) shifted out when rounding the home turn and this presented ZOUZOUAMORE (T Marshall) with a tight run to that horses inside and when attempting to improve jockey Marshall called to jockey Tilley to advise that he had improved to the inside of LINRIC LASS. As a result, jockey Tilley directed LINRIC LASS approximately one horse wider in order to afford ZOUZOUAMORE extra room, however in doing so this resulted in KAYLEEN, which had been racing to the outside whilst hanging in under pressure, to be awkwardly placed at the heels of LINRIC LASS for two strides before clipping heels, blundering and falling, causing L Tarrant to be dislodged.
In the circumstances stewards were satisfied that jockey Tilley, in shifting ground, was attempting to ride with care by affording more room to the runner to the inside and were also of the view that KAYLEEN had contributed to this incident as, despite the efforts of jockey Tarrant to direct his mount out at this point, the filly continued to shift in onto the heels of LINRIC LASS.
