Cassidy + 1kgRace 6: M. Harley + 0.5kg Race 6: LUCAMOUR was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:54pm. Trainer C. Zintillis was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to race again. Trainer P. Duncan was fined $100 pursuant LR 68(1) for failing to declare a rider for WARCAN engaged in Race 6 by the prescribed time. Race 1: 1 SKY RACING Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres ANATINI – Over-raced in the early stages. FIRSTLUV (NZ) – Raced wide in the early stages. TALANTINO – Bumped at the start by LATAKIA. I AM TAKINGTHELOT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider S. Thornton stated that whilst she was caught wide for the majority of the event, she was still somewhat disappointed with the performance of I AM TAKINGTHELOT. LATAKIA – Began awkwardly and bumped TALANTINO. Raced greenly in the early stages. Race 2: 2 ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS ON SALE NOW Colts, Geldings &Entires Maiden Pl 1200 metres AZURE PRIDE – Raced in restricted room in the early stages of the home straight. FLYING ZAMBONI – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to displaying clinical symptoms of Cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer M. Taylor was advised a veterinary clearance as well as an ECG report would be required prior to completing a satisfactory trial prior to being permitted to race again. LITTLE VISTA – Had difficultly securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight. CASSIMIR – Began awkwardly and bumped WARTHOG. SPACESHIP – Began awkwardly. WARTHOG – Bumped at the start by CASSIMIR. VALANTINO ROC (NZ) – Hampered shortly after the start by WARTHOG which was taken inwards by CASSIMIR Race 3:CASCADE Class 2 Handicap 1110 metres HOLD ON HONEY – Taken outwards at the start by CAMPAI. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Cast its near fore plate during the event. SPIRIT PRINCESS – Raced wide early. Raced greenly approaching the 800m and shifted in abruptly before being corrected by its rider. The saddle of the mare slipped back in the early stages of the event placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. CAMPAI – Began awkwardly. LITERMONT – Slow to begin. WARRIORESS – Tightened at the start and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages. Race 4: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3Handicap 1350 metres ASHGROVE – Raced in restricted leaving the 1200m to the inside of MIDNIGHT RAMBLER which shifted in. M. Hellyer, the rider of MIDNIGHT RAMBLER, was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. Inconvenienced and forced wider rounding the home turn by PERNELL which shifted out abruptly after improving onto heels. L. Cassidy the rider of PERNELL was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. GREEN FLASH – Improved onto heels at the 700m and blundered. SLY CORNER (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. PERNELL – Improved onto the heels of SLY CORNER (NZ) rounding the home turn and shifted out abruptly, causing ASHGROVE to be inconvenienced and forced wider. SO YOU KNEW – Raced keenly in the early stages. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3 Race 5: 5 ZOUSAIN FIRST YEARLINGS SELLING 2023 Class 1 Plate 1650 metres AIRCRAFTMAN – Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. BEN HUR – Raced wide in the early stages. Hung out and shifted wider despite the efforts of its rider approaching the 1300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer P. Kimmet was advised the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to start again. MILITARY GAMBLER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: XXXX DRY BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2060 metres The start of this event was delayed as a result of ALIRAAJ (NZ) proving difficult to load. Trainer M. Kropp was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to start again. SHOPPING ESPRIT - Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider S. Collett advised stewards that the gelding failed to muster early speed after being slow to begin and when asked for an effort in the home straight was one paced in its finishing effort which she attributed to the significant weight carried. GRINZINGER KNIGHT – Rider L. Cassidy was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m. ALIRAAJ (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. WARCAN (NZ) – Shifted out under approaching the 250m. TONI TOO (NZ) – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Over-raced and wide in the early stages. Obliged to alter course approaching the 200m to secure clear running. Race 7: 7 RACECOURSE VILLAGE Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap1350 metres The start of this event was delayed owing initially to GIVEITALLALI being difficult to load and then the bridle of TICK TOCK QUEEN breaking and needing to be replaced at the barriers after also being difficult to load. Trainer S. Cole was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of GIVEITALLALI. Trainer T. Gollan was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of TICK TOCK QUEEN. DA PARTY GAL – Slow to begin. TICK TOCK QUEEN – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear rounding for the entirety of the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by its rider. TOP BABE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Race 8: NOVA 106.9 NYE PARTY ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 70Handicap 1200 metres RHYME TIME – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards. Over-raced in the early stages. GAIUS - Hampered at the start. ABRACADAZZLE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ZAVABOOM – Raced in restricted room during the early stages. Held up approaching the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. DARING BELLE – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with TOP BOY. HAKKAI MARU - Hampered at the start. TOP BOY – Bumped at the start.
