Race 1: CELEBRATING HORSES' BIRTHDAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1350 metres

CLUBHOUSE – Over raced in the early and middle stages proving difficult to settle.

KENSHIN MARU – Approaching the 50m, had to be steadied from heels and eased wider.

TOTSPUR – Inclined to lay out passing the 600m. Raced very greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had a small laceration in its mouth.

GOLD 'N' GLAMOROUS – Began awkwardly and shifted in on jumping. Jockey M. Harley reported that the filly raced very keenly in the early stages and proved difficult to settle.

THREDBO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 2: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY 9 SEPTEMBER Class 5 Handicap 1660 metres

CANASTA (FR) – When crossed in the early stages raced keenly for some distance. Near the 800m, momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of MENAZZI which was taken in slightly by FIRST SON. Apprentice Graham was advised to exercise greater care when crossing. When asked to comment, Jockey J. Molloy stated when placed under pressure the gelding did not respond as expected in the home straight.

WOLF MOON – Trainer D. Forster advised Stewards the gelding would be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. After being urged forward by its rider, was crossed by several runners, and settled further back than anticipated.

ROSE OF DUPORTH – Caught wide early. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

FIRST SON – Began awkwardly. Caught wide early.

TWO SMOKIN BARRELS – Began awkwardly and shortly thereafter was hampered. Jockey D’Avila reported his mount was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride.

JAC THE GREAT – Restrained to a rearward position after the start.

LUVYOUANYTIME – Restrained to a rearward position after the start.

Race 3: CASCADE Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1200 metres

BELVEDERE BOYS – Raced wide throughout.

CAPTURED IN TIME – Slow to begin. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m.

ELROY – Began awkwardly.

KHANT QUIT (NZ) – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.

QUOTHQUAN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

READY AZZ EVA – Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.

RUSTIC BOOM – Began awkwardly. Laid out when placed under pressure over the final 50m.

SHADES OF LOUVRE – Began awkwardly.

SUPIDOCHARGED – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: SKY RACING Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres

BLISS MISS – Raced very keenly in the early stages proving difficult to settle, brushed the rail passing the 800m.

I AM TAKINGTHELOT – On arrival to the barriers, twisted its off-fore plate which required farrier attention. Subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Near the 1000m, commenced to over race and shifted out.

ISLAND TIDE – Shifted out on jumping.

KELLISA – Slow to begin.

SHAY – Bumped after start. Put in an awkward stride near the 100m and underwent a post-race veterinary examination which determined the mare to be displaying an upper respiratory noise. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised SHAY would require and veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic examination prior to racing again.

WHITE RIBBON – Hampered after start and lost ground.

STILETTOS – Began awkwardly.

POWER FLASH) – Began awkwardly. Near the 1000m obliged to check from the heels of I AM TAKINGTHELOT when it shifted out abruptly whilst over racing.

Race 5: BRC MEMBERSHIP ON SALE QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (4YO only QTIS bonus 1660 metres

ACCESSORY – Began awkwardly before restraining from to the rear of the field.

BLAZEN BOOTS (NZ) – Hampered shortly after the start.

MOOLOOLABA (NZ) – Approaching the finishing line was steadied from the heels of TERANGA which shifted out and away from POET’S DAY.

POET'S DAY – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Over raced throughout the event. Near the 150m, momentarily steadied from the heels of KOKONOTSU which shifted out and KIND WISH (NZ) which shifted in.

REISINGER – Slow to begin and hampered shortly thereafter. Jockey M. Du Plessis when asked to comment regarding the gelding’s performance, he stated that he was satisfied where he had positioned however when placed under pressure in the home straight did not let down as expected. A post – race veterinary examination determined the gelding to be displaying muscle soreness in its off-fore shoulder. B. Killion, stable representative subsequently advised stewards that the gelding was slightly fractious on route to the course, however on arrival was satisfied with the condition of the horse. Stewards advised Mr Killion that in similar circumstances it is his responsibility to notify stewards any occurrence which potentially may affect a horse’s performance. Mr Killion was advised that REISINGER would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

TERANGA – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Approaching the finishing line, shifted out and away from POET’S DAY.

KOKONOTSU – Near the 150m raced greenly when under hard riding.

Race 6: DRINKWISE BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres

IMMORAL – Hampered after the start.

BALDASSARE – Approaching the 800m turn, commenced to over race at the heels of ROSE BY DESIGN, had to be steadied and shifted wider for a short distance before restraining for cover. Jockey S. Cormack was advised to exercise greater care when crossing.

EYEWITNESS – Near the 700m, caught wide before Jockey S. Collett elected to allow her mount to stride forward.

JUBAI PRIDE – Held up between the 200m and 100m.

ONIKA – Began awkwardly.

WARRIORESS – Raced wide throughout.

ZHUANG SHI – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

Race 7: 7 LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI Class 2 Handicap 1350 metres

PARALLEL – Slow to begin, bumped and lost ground.

CHANCE AT MIDNIGHT – Over raced in the early stages.

NOTED – Began awkwardly and shifted out.

REDENTE CHOICE – Bounded as the start was affected and lost ground.

Race 8: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres

RICH LISTER – Laid out when placed under pressure in the early part of the straight.

SADDLE BOY – Began awkwardly. Held up early stages of the home straight.

JAYANTHI – Raced keenly in the early stages. Rolled in during the early stages of the home straight.

NAVAL TRADER – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted of the gelding, Jockey J Lloyd stated he settled in a favourable forward position, however rounding the home turn when a run presented to the outside of LITTLE VISTA and JAYANTHI to his outside, the gelding failed to quicken as expected despite hard riding. Shortly thereafter in the early part of the straight, the run narrowed between LITTLE VISTA and JAYANTHI obliging Jockey Lloyd to restrain from the heels of LITTLE VISTA and shifted to the inside of that runner in order to improve. Stewards when considering the evidence tended also noted that in the early part of the straight when being pressured by Jockey Lloyd that the gelding laid in and away from JAYANTHI when that runner improved quickly to the outside of NAVAL TRADER which also contributed to this incident. Stewards on review noted Jockey Lloyd’s comments.

GREAT BARRIER REEF – Laid out in the early part of the straight.

YES TO EXCESS – Slow to begin.

DOWN THE BARREL – Began awkwardly.

NORTHERN PRIDE – Over raced approaching the 800m and momentarily shifted wider.
