Race 1: BRC MEMBERSHIP ON SALE NOW Maiden Plate 1640 metres
 
BRAND NEW (NZ) - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
IN CLOSE REACH – Raced wide in the early stages until obtaining the lead near the 1200m.
 
NEOCLASSICISM – Restrained from the wide barrier to obtain a position with cover at the tail of the field. Near the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced by KEYMAN which shifted out under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination showed clinical signs of thumps.
 
SACRED FEELING (NZ) – Near the 1000m improved onto heels and had to be steadied when the pace of the race eased. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
STANAGE BAY – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 1000m improved onto heels and had to be steadied when the pace of the race eased. Disappointed for a run on entering the home straight and as a result had to be restrained from the heels of SUPER SWEET. Raced in restricted room passing the 200m.
 
KEYMAN – Shifted out under pressure near the 300m.
 
 
Race 2: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY 9 SEPTEMBER BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 2040 metres
 
GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) – Slow to begin. Difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m, shifted out and bumped VIADELAMORE. Laid out over the concluding stages of the race.
 
MASTER MARKO (NZ) – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Difficulty obtaining clear running from entering the home straight until inside the 250m.
 
TRIPLE MONEY (NZ) – Shifted in at the start and bumped MISTER MAKO which became unbalanced. Apprentice B. Wheeler reported that his mount was inclined to lay in throughout the race. Rounding the turn passing the 750m shifted in despite the efforts of the rider and made contact with the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slight abrasion to the near side nostril.
 
SHEZADANDI – Inconvenienced leaving the 300m when VIADELMORE shifted out.
 
VIADELAMORE (IRE) – Raced in restricted room to the inside of SHEZADANDI passing the winning post on the first occasion. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
Laid out rounding the home turn and made contact with SHEZADANDI. Hampered by GALIFIANAKIS which shifted out passing the 200m.
 
 
Race 3: SKY RACING QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
ASHIGARU – Jumped out at the start making contact with the barrier gate which resulted in the rider becoming unbalanced. Raced wide throughout.
 
BEE EXACT – Shifted in at the start and bumped LOST HIS BEANS and a short distance later again shifted in making contact with that runner resulting in BE EXACT becoming unbalanced. Passing the 300m became awkward in its stride when racing to the inside of LOST HIS BEANS which improved to the outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have atrial fibrillation. Trainer J. Hubbard was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance, including the satisfactory results of an ECG, and must trial satisfactorily prior to its next start.
 
KING TARIK – Jumped awkwardly.
 
LOST HIS BEANS – Bumped at the start and again a short distance later. Passing the 400m became extremely awkward in its stride for no apparent reason.
 
MALTALI – Jumped awkwardly and was then slow into stride. Over raced in the early stages.

QUADE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SNAG DA BEANS – Laid in rounding the first turn.
 
ULTIMATE – When questioned regarding the performance, rider M. Harley reported that he was instructed to settle midfield with cover. He added that his mount over raced in the early stages and passing the 600m when attempting to improve he had to restrain his mount from the heels of LOST HIS BEANS which had become awkward in its action. He further added that ULTIMATE regained momentum and was able to finish the race off well and would derive benefit from today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4: ENCRYPTION CHAMPION QLD 1ST SEASON SIRE QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Ma 1200 metres
 
EXOTIQUE MISS – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
FIVE STAR VIXEN – Shifted in at the start and hampered INTRANSIGENT.
 
INTRANSIGENT – Over raced in the early stages and hung out rounding the first turn. Raced wide throughout. When questioned, rider K. Wilson-Taylor could offer no explanation for the performance but felt the filly would derive benefit from today’s race.
 
LEEANNIE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
MONOLINK – Passing the 400m had to steady from the heels of QUEEN OF DARK. Rider J. Orman reported that his mount was reluctant to improve between runners in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the near side cannon.
 
QUEEN OF DARK – Passing the 500m attempted to shift out to improve into a run where there was insufficient room and had to restrain off heels.
 
READY TO RHYME – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race greenly throughout.
 
 
Race 5: SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW Class 4 Plate 1200 metres
 
LUSKIN HERO – Approaching the 800m commenced to over race when being restrained to allow ORIENTAL PRINCESS to cross and lead.
 
MILITARY GAMBLER - Restrained from the wide gate to obtain a position with cover.
 
MORETON BAY – Held up for clear running entering the home straight until passing the 200m.
 
MY ODDETTE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
SUTTO'S GAL – Restrained from the wide gate to obtain a position with cover.
 
ORIENTAL PRINCESS – Passing the 400m was momentarily disadvantaged when rider B. Thompson’s whip became entangled in his rein.
 
TRES REDOUTE – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: LADBROKES LIVE BETTING BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
KHAALIS (IRE) – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MAKEDON – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SCOTTISH PRINCE – Approaching the 500m had to be restrained from the heels of LUCKY EXCHANGE when the pace slackened.
 
ALLEZ ZOU (NZ) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
NORTHERN DECREE (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly and then hampered by ALLEZ ZOU which shifted out. Over raced in the early stages.
 
START STRUTTING – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out bumping KHAALIS (IRE). Approaching the 500m became awkward at the heels of SCOTTISH PRINCE which was being restrained and as a result had to be checked when racing in restricted room between SCOTTISH PRINCE and BEEF WEEK PRINCESS.
 
 
Race 7: XXXX GOLD Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres
 
JOHN RAMBO – Race wide throughout. Checked when approaching the winning post when buffeted by SHAPIN POWER who was carried out and ONE IN ALL which shifted in under riding. Jockey J. Bayliss the rider of ONE IN ALL was reprimanded under the provisions of AR 131(a).
 
AMMAND – Jumped in at the start and bumped ISRAELITE BAY. Passing the 800m had to be restrained off heels when the pace of the race slackened. Approaching the 100m raced in restricted room to the inside of STARRY EYES for a short distance.
 
STARRY EYES – Jumped out and bumped KUREDER.
 
TIRITIRI (NZ) – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1000m had to restrained from heels. Restrained off heels passing the 700m.
 
KUREDER (NZ) – Jumped in at the start and bumped STARRY EYES.
 
GLEEFILLY – Held up for clear running n entering the home straight and approaching the 150m was obliged to shift wider to attempt improve into a run between TIRITIRI and ISRALEITE BAY. Approaching the 50m was severely hampered by STARRY EYES which shifted out when being corrected.
 
GLIDE ON BY – Over raced in the early stages.
 
SHAPIN POWER – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Had to be checked over the concluding stages after ISRAELITE BAY was carried out and JOHN RAMBO was carried in.
 
FIRE LOVE – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ISRAELITE BAY – Bumped at the start. Inside the final 50m was buffeted and carried wider.
 
ONE IN ALL – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Rider J. Bayliss pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR 132(5) for using his whip on 18 occasions in total. J. Bayliss’ licence to ride in races was suspended for eleven days, to commence at the end of his suspension occurred at Rockhampton finishing midnight 19 August and to conclude at midnight 30 August 2023.
