APPLICATIONS NZ – Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards questioned Jockey D. Thornton regarding the tactics adopted who stated that being its first start since May and from the wide barrier he was mindful not to apply early pressure to the gelding as it can cause it to over race which would have a detrimental effect on its performance. He further added that leaving the 1200m he did attempt to obtain cover, however shortly after, the run closed, and was obliged to race wide. Jockey Thornton added that the gelding would benefit from a step up in distance. Stewards noted his comments.

Robl noted that HADOUKEN shifted out approximately 7 horses over the final 200m whilst under hard riding, thus forcing NO MORE RED to be taken off its rightful running line to which it was entitled and limiting the manner in which NO MORE RED could be ridden to the line.
