Mallyon stated he was satisfied settling behind EQUINE ART in running. He further added that rounding the home turn he expected runners to weaken, in the expectation a run would avail itself to the outside of EQUINE ART. Jockey A. Mallyon further stated that when runners did not weaken as expected to the outside of EQUINE ART, he was then obliged to look for a run to that runners inside and added that when attempting to improve to the inside of EQUINE ART near the 200m, his mount was reluctant to take a narrow run, raced greenly and inclined to lay out, placing him at a disadvantage. Trainer P. Shailer concurred with Jockey A. Mallyon’s comments. Stewards noted the comments. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

EQUINE ART – Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in marginally approaching the 100m. Obliged to steady near the finishing line when ASHILLA laid in. Jockey R.
