Race 1: OFFICIATING AT AQUIS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP  1110 M
 
GLAD I MET YOU – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early stages. Approaching the 700m had to be restrained off heels, made the turn at the 600m awkwardly and shifted out. Jockey M. Du Plessis reported that his mount felt awkward in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DESTINYS SUMMIT – Bumped with DESTINY PINNACLE shortly after the start.
 
EGYPTIAN GODDESS – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early stages. Passing the 500m became awkwardly placed on heels whilst racing in restricted room to the outside of DESTINYS SUMMIT. Laid in under pressure on entering the home straight, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ANGEL’S TRUMPET and was obliged to shift wider to improve.
 
DESTINYS PINNACLE – Began awkwardly and bumped with DESTINYS SUMMIT.
 
Race 2: XXXX BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP  2200 M
 
APPLICATIONS (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
AIDEN – Bumped after the start by SIR LAMORAK (IRE).
 
PEPPERDINE – Raced wide during the early stages and was restrained to take up a position at the rear of the field passing the 1200m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALDEENAARY (IRE) – Jockey R. Maloney reported that in his opinion the gelding was disadvantaged by the fast early tempo and was unable to make ground late.
 
SIR LAMORAK (IRE) – Bumped after the start by AIDEN.
 
CEREMONIOUS (NZ) – Trainer’s representative for C. Waller advised a change of tactics that CEREMONIOUS (NZ) would be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
NEW JOY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have heat stress.
 
OLD SONG – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after jumping.
 
Race 3: CONGRATULATIONS JOHN SYMONS & SHEILA LAXON NO METRO WINS HANDICAP  1350 M
 
END ASSEMBLY – Shifted out on jumping. Approaching the 800m had to be restrained from the heels of BRENTWOOD which shifted in when insufficiently clear after being carried inwards by METALART. Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester rider of BRENTWOOD and Jockey C. Graham rider of METALART were both reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident. Continued to over race for a distance after.
 
METALART – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted in the early stages of today’s event, in particular METALART leading, Jockey C. Graham stated that she was instructed from the wide barrier to attempt to obtain a position forward of mid with cover, which was consistent with the instructions given last start at Doomben 26/10/2024. She added that after beginning well she was of the opinion that she was going to be tracked wide, so elected to push forward and take up a leading position. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
BRENTWOOD – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
DRIALLE – Began awkwardly. Jockey A. Mallyon could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near hindleg. Lost near hind plate.
 
BOWRIDER – Began awkwardly. When passing the 700m, had to be restrained from heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
TREASURER – When passing the 700m, had to be restrained from heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
FIVE RINGS (NZ) – Began awkwardly, hampered shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
Race 4: CONGRATULATIONS ROBBIE DOLAN BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP  1350 M
 
HE'S HEAVEN – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early stages whilst being restrained for cover.
 
MOONAN ME – Hampered after the start. Approaching the 900m had to be restrained off heels when the pace of the race slackened and commenced to race fiercely for a short distance after.
 
BALTRAY – Raced wide for the majority of the event before being allowed to stride forward and take up a leading position passing the 500m. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 100m.
 
EXCEED SPEED – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
HALFAHOPE – Approaching the 900m, had to be restrained off heels when the pace of the race slackened and as a result was forced three wide for the remainder. Passing the 200m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RING ME UP which shifted out under riding. Apprentice B. Wheeler rider of RING ME UP was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
BENCOOLEN – Approaching the 900m had to be restrained off heels when the pace of the race slackened and commenced to race fiercely for a short distance after. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift into clear running leaving the 200m.
 
GLORIOUS RUBY – Lost off fore plate. When questioned regarding the pace of the race being slackened from the 900m, Jockey S. Collett stated that her mount is not a usual leader and after ANDERSEN commenced to be restrained from that point, she elected to ride her mount where comfortable to the outside of ANDERSEN, rather than continuing to ride forward which is outside the mare’s usual racing pattern. Stewards noted the explanation and advised Jockey S. Collett of her obligations when reducing the pace of the race.
 
RING ME UP – Rounding the home turn, shifted out and contacted HALFAHOPE.
 
TAVS – Slow to begin. Approaching the 900m had to be restrained off heels and commenced to race fiercely for a short distance. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 100m between RING ME UP and EXCEED SPEED which shifted out. Jockey R. Maloney rider of EXCEED SPEED was reminded of his obligations when shifting out.  
 
ANDERSEN – Began awkwardly and shifted in. When questioned regarding the pace of the race being slackened from the 1000m to the 800m, Jockey N. Beriman stated that after beginning well, she was able to cross and obtain a leading position, she added that her mount raced keenly in the early stages and from a position passing the 1000m, she commenced to restrain her mount and in her opinion that given the lead that she had obtained on the field, she was able to do this gradually. Stewards noted the explanation and advised Jockey N. Beriman of her obligations when reducing the pace of the race. Trainer M. Hoysted indicated that it was now his likely intention to send the colt for a spell.
 
Race 5: CONGRATULATIONS KNIGHT'S CHOICE CLASS 3 PLATE  1615 M
 
KADALL – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
EL PENSADOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUR TURN NOW (NZ) – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
QUOTHQUAN – Passing the 300m, severely hampered and had to be restrained when carried onto the heels of OUR TURN NOW (NZ) by EL PENSADOR which shifted in, before being corrected and OUR TURN NOW (NZ) which shifted out. Both Jockey R. Wiggins rider of OUR TURN NOW and Apprentice C. Collis rider of EL PENSADOR were reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
HABEEBAH (FR) – Over raced during the middle stages.
 
SANBANO – Raced wide until taking up a leading position near the 1100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be making an upper respiratory noise. Trainer J. Bellamy was advised SANBANO would require a veterinary clearance inclusive of endoscopic results prior to resuming.
 
Race 6: MORETON HIRE BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP  1110 M
 
TROIKA – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages. Approaching the 500m, had to be checked off the heels of THANKYOU HENRY.
 
WRITTLE – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early stages. Passing the 800m, had to be restrained from heels whilst over racing. Lost both fore plates.
 
BUSTING – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Trainers’ representative for T. Gollan advised a change of tactics that BUSTING would be ridden further back if circumstances permit. Began awkwardly. Ridden accordingly.
 
MOUETTE – Raced wide throughout. Trainer D. Bougoure was fined $200 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider within the prescribed time.
 
GREAT BARRIER REEF – Had to be restrained passing the 500m to avoid the heels of TROIKA which took action in front.
 
THAT'S AN EXTRA – Had to be restrained from heels passing the 500m.
 
STAR SEEKER – Inconvenienced passing the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 7: U&U RECRUITMENT KEITH NOUD  1200 M
 
HARD TO SAY – Raced wide until taking up a position outside the leader passing the 800m.
 
NED'S GULLY – Bumped after the start with GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ). A post-race swab was taken.
 
TIGER SHARK – Began awkwardly. Lost near fore plate.
 
MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO – Reared as the start was affected and lost ground. Over raced during the early and middle stages.  
 
NASHIRA – Lost near fore plate.
 
GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Bumped after the start with NED’S GULLY. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 8: EVA AIR BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP  1615 M
 
KRONENBOURG (NZ) – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the home straight, Jockey R. Maloney stated that he was instructed by trainer T. Gollan to shift three wide on entering the home straight as in their opinion, it was the superior ground. When questioned regarding these tactics, trainers representative C. Cavanagh confirmed the instructions. Stewards noted the explanation.  
 
BETTCHA THE CROWN – Over raced during the early stages whilst being restrained.
 
HYDE – Began awkwardly.
 
LOGAN STREET LION (NZ) – Held up for clear running from the 400m and was disappointed for a run on entering the home straight. Passing the 200m, bumped with IT’SMEMARIO. Raced in restricted room inside the final 50m.
 
BELVEDERE BOYS – Slow to begin.
 
CLYDE – Laid in during the early stages of the home straight.
 
BINDING – Raced wide until taking up a position outside the leader near the 1100m.
 
IT'SMEMARIO – Bumped on entering the home straight by LOGAN STREET LION which attempted to shift out to improve. Inside the final 50m, had to be steadied whilst racing in restricted room between LOGAN STREET LION and KRONENBURG which shifted in marginally. Jockey R. Maloney rider of KRONENBURG was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 9: EMPIRE OF JAPAN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP  1200 M
 
BOOMTOWN BOSS – Over raced during the early stages. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
ESTRONDO – Shifted in on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. Inconvenienced leaving the 150m.
 
GIVE ME SPACE – Began awkwardly. Lost off fore plate. Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 200m and was bumped on a number of occasions after being carried down onto MISHANI SUSPECT by RUN LUCY RUN who shifted in marginally. Jockey N. Beriman rider of MISHANI SUSPECT and Jockey D. Thornton rider of RUN LUCY RUN were advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
MISHANI SUSPECT – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 200m, had its hind quarters turned resulting in MISHANI SUSPECT shifted out abruptly.
 
THE SUN DANCE – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
RUN LUCY RUN – Passing the 200m, shifted in marginally contacting GIVE ME SPACE, resulting in the hind quarters of RUN LUCY RUN being contacted, becoming severely unbalanced and losing ground.
 
SHAMADAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room for an extended period near the 800m to the inside of ESTRONDO.
 
Race 10: LADBROKES BET TICKER BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP  1200 M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 4 minutes after GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) harmlessly dislodged its rider and galloped riderless for a considerable distance. GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5:46pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – HELL 9c win, 5c place
2nd – WEIGALL TIGER 12c place
3rd – OCEANS OF ENERGY 15c place
 
ART BY CONCORDE – Hampered passing the 900m.
 
HELL – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
MAJESTIC BOOM – Hampered shortly after jumping.
 
WEIGALL TIGER – Began awkwardly.
 
THE INFLICTOR – Hampered shortly after jumping.
 
BAD EDUCATION – Over raced during the early stages. Had to be checked to avoid the heels of MAJESTIC BOOM passing the 900m who was carried in by WEIGALL TIGER which was insufficiently clear.  A. Thompson rider of WEIGALL TIGER was charged and pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that approaching the 900m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MAJESTIC BOOM, carrying that runner into the running line of BAD EDUCATION and causing that runner to check from the heels of MAJESTIC BOOM. Jockey A. Thompsons license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days commencing midnight 18/11/2024 up to and including midnight 28/11/2024.
