RACE 1: STEFAN MAKES YOUR LIFE MORE BEAUTIFUL H'CAP – 1200M

Jockey B. Stewart was found guilty of a breach of AR 87D in that he was found to have in his possession a body protector which had been significantly modified. The matter of penalty was set aside so that precedents could be considered.

BLERICK, which was kicked in the nearside rib, was examined behind the barriers by the Club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

OPAL RAINBOW was slow to begin.

On jumping away VOWORANA lost ground when crowded for room between LADY WITH THE LAMP and BLERICK.

When commencing to lose ground near the 300m, BLERICK had to be checked when tightened for room between MINER'S UNION, which shifted in slightly, and KIMJED, which also shifted out slightly when racing close to the heels of RETSIL.

RACE 2: LOGAN INSURANCE H'CAP – 1500M

After being loaded, THERMOPYLAE reared high and soon afterwards became cast in its stall. Acting on the advice of the Club's veterinary surgeon that the filly had sustained bruising around its head and soreness over the loin muscle, THERMOPYLAE was delcared a late withdrawal at 12.57 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on THERMOPYYLAE were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of win and place bets applicable. Trainer W. Tipper was advised that THERMOPYLAE must pass a further barrier test prior to its next start.

On jumping away TELESIO and VEESAR were tightened for room between HOT SCORPION and MY VISION SPLENDID which was taken in by ANCIENT PRINCE.

NEDEYEV was obliged to race wide during the event.

RACE 3: SHOW A HEART SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 1400M

Soon after making the 600m crossing, TIDE TURNER shifted out of its own accord and had to be steadied off the heels of RARE INSIGHT.

TIDE TURNER had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages of the event.

A veterinary examination of LONGER WONGARONGA, which tailed off, failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4: Q.B.B.S. SALES METROPOLITAN H'CAP – 2200M

A swab sample was taken from the unplaced NORTHERN HEIGHTS.

RACE 5: Q.B.B.S. SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 1200M

FLYING DOUBT, which was unable to be loaded, was declared a late withdrawal at 2.47 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on FLYING DOUBT were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 3 cents in the dollar on the face value of win and place bets applicable. Trainer S. Kumpikas was advised that FLYING DOUBT would be required to pass an official barrier trial prior to its next race start.

TELDAWN and SMART CHARIOT were slow to begin.

MALAGRA MISS jumped away very awkwardly and threw its head which resulted in its rider S. Baster becoming unbalanced.

When questioned regarding the performance of MALAGRA MISS, S. Baster stated that the filly lost ground at the start after jumping away awkwardly. He indicated that MALAGRA MISS had also been tardily away on previous occasions. S. Baster added that MALAGRA MISS was inclined to lay out during the event which indicated to him that the filly was not entirely happy racing in a clockwise direction, however he still felt that she was very disappointing. A veterinary examination of MALAGRA MISS failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 6: GLENLOGAN PARK GRAND PRIX SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 2144M

Correct weight was delayed while stewards considered an approach from jockey D. Tanti querying whether SHA ALMA had been afforded a fair start. It was established that prior to the start being effected, SHA ALMA became fractious in the barriers and reared up on one occasion. As a consequence SHA ALMA was quickly attended to by a barrier attendant and whilst the barrier attendant may have been fractionally slow to release the filly as the gates opened, stewards established that SHA ALMA had been very slow to jump as a result of her own manners. Accordingly, stewards deemed that SHA ALMA had been afforded a fair start and declared correct weight.

NO RACING INCIDENTS

RACE 7: Q.B.B.S. DR. JOHN POWER H'CAP – 1200M

When steadied off the heels of FOUARDEE at the 800m, PERNOD brushed the running rail.

C. Munce, the rider of FOUARDEE, was cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under pressure at the 150m resulting in CRETE being taken out on to the tiring CAMENA resulting in CAMENA being hampered.

The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that CAMENA sustained a small laceration to the outside of the off hind cannon.
