Race 1: BRC Has The Winning Edge F&M H'cap - 1000m
LA TIKKA ROSA (G. Colless), DIAMOND TRAIL (M. Hellyer) and JACQUETTA (R. McMahon) were slow to begin.
LA TIKKA ROSA was held up for clear running until near the 100m.
Approaching the 200m, LIGHTFEET LADY (K. Matheson) was tightened for room between ALLTHERIGHTMOVES (M. McGuren) and MISSING PAGE (M. Cahill), which shifted in under pressure.
MISSING PAGE (M. Cahill) and BEACH BABE (T. Wolfgram) raced wide for the majority of the race.
A post race veterinary examination of MISSING PAGE failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 2: Winning Edge Merchandise Class 6 Plate - 2200m
PLATINUM JACK (C. Munce) and HARBOR SPRINGS (T. Bell) were slow to begin.
LEE HO FOOK (R. Wiggins) jumped away awkwardly and made contact with TIPS 'N' TALES (P. Schmidt).
When the pace steadied near the 1800m, LEE HO FOOK and PLATINUM JACK commenced to pull hard.
Passing the 1600m, C. Munce allowed PLATINUM JACK to stride forward and take up a position near the lead near the 1400m.
After leaving the 200m, PLATINUM JACK shifted out under pressure and hampered ANGUSROY (A. Holt).
ALBIZIA (M. McGuren) raced wide throughout.
When questioned, R. Ride reported that MISS KARDASHIAN pulled hard early and may have been galloped on behind near the 1600m, and as a result of that her mount then commenced to overrace and she was unable to restrain the mare for some distance. A post race veterinary examination of MISS KARDASHIAN failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: Winning Edge Trophies Members' H'cap - 1600m
Shortly after the start, CABALLO RAPIDO (M. Cahill) was tightened for room between PRETTY PINS (R. Wiggins) and LADY ECHELON (T. Bell), which shifted out.
GREY ASSIGNMENT (L. Cassidy) overraced from the 1400m to the 1200m.
R. Ride reported that KISS ME DEADLY travelled well in running but when placed under pressure in the straight failed to run on as expected.
Trainer P. Jenkins reported MATABRAHMA would now be sent for a spell.
Race 4: Winningedge.net.au 2yo H'cap - 1000m
The start was delayed when SAGATONA had to be resaddled at the barriers.
SO IMPATIENT (C. Munce), RUNWAY ANGEL (R. Wiggins) and SAGATONA (T. Wolfgram) were slow to begin.
ELITIST (K. Matheson) was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight and near the 200m, RUNWAY ANGEL, which was racing to its inside, had to be steadied.
SARISARA (T. Bell), OUTBACK SAGA (E. Wilkinson) and GRAPEVINE (D. Browne) raced wide for the majority of the race.
T. Bell, ride of SARISARA, was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
Race 5: You've Got The Winning Edge 3yo Plate - 1000m
WHISKEY ALLROUND (B. El-Issa) reared at the start and lost ground.
SNITZEL'S JEWEL (L. Cassidy) and BLACKBOARD SPECIAL (M. Cahill) bumped shortly after the start.
T. Harrison reported that SMOKE HAZARD commenced to hang out shortly after the start and continued to do so for the remainder of the race. Trainer S. Watters was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
Near the 350m, BLACKBOARD SPECIAL laid in behind the heels of TISANI TOMSO (B. Stewart) and then shifted out near the 250m and made contact with FLYING RIDDLE (P. Schmidt).
WALKIN' TALL (R. McMahon) laid in under pressure in the straight.
FLYING RIDDLE raced wide throughout.
D. Browne reported at scale that GOOD JOB BRO jumped away awkwardly, resulting in him making contact with the upright and as a result he was not able to fully test his mount during the race. D Browne was examined by the club's doctor following the race and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
B. El-Issa reported that after beginning awkwardly, WHISKEY ALLROUND never travelled well throughout.
Race 6: Winning Edge Promotional Gear Princess Stakes - 1600m
FAIRYTALE BELLE (T. Bell) reared at the start and lost ground.
After travelling 100m, BEATNIKS (L. Cassidy) had to be steadied from the heels of TORNADO MISS (R. McMahon), which was taken in by SOME CALL HER WILD (B. Stewart).
Passing the 1200m, TIRARRI (E. Wilkinson) commenced to pull hard and had to be restrained from the heels of LITTLE BIT DITSY (M. Cahill).
At the same stage, SATIRICAL LASS (J. Byrne) pulled hard at the heels of TORNADO MISS.
Approaching the 1000m, BEATNIKS shifted out and away from the heels of BEST YET TO COME (J. Taylor), taking PERFORMIA (B. El-Issa) wider.
Passing the 800m, QUEEN OF THE LOCHS (T. Harrison) brushed the rail and shifted out, inconveniencing TORNADO MISS. SATIRICAL LASS, which was following, shifted out abruptly, making contact with PERFORMIA.
G. Colless reported that TINTO was reluctant to improve inside other runners rounding the home turn and he advised connections to experiment with blinkers.
Near the 500m, TORNADO MISS shifted out and brushed SATIRICAL LASS.
SOME CALL HER WILD was held up from the 400m until inside the 200m.
SISTER SOUSS (R. Wiggins) was held up in the early stages of the straight.
LITTLE BIT DITSY shifted in under pressure from the 300m and near the 200m SEA RED (D. Browne) had to be steadied away from the heels of LITTLE BIT DITSY.
Race 7: Winning Edge Presentations Hinkler H'cap - 1200m
As G. Colless was to be overweight, J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of CUDDLESOME. G. Colless was fined $200.
CHOICE BRO (R. McMahon), MISHANI WARRIOR (B. Stewart) and EASY RUNNING (J. Morris) were slow to begin.
R. Wiggins, rider of GUNDY SON, accidentally dropped his whip approaching the 200m.
B. Stewart could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of MISHANI WARRIOR. A post race veterinary examination of MISHANI WARRIOR failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
Race 8: Winnng Edge Signature Class 6 H'cap - 1400m
Connections advised that PROOF OF LIFE would be ridden back in the field today. PROOF OF LIFE was subsequently ridden back in the field. Trainer T. Gollan was fined $200 for failing to advise stewards earlier than he did on this occasion.
CUM DIVIDEND (K. Matheson) blundered on jumping away.
Shortly after the start, CUM DIVIDEND and ALDINI (T. Bell) were tightened for room when DOUGHTY (M. Cahill) shifted out.
Near the 1300m, SHOW OF STRENGTH (R. Wiggins) made contact with the hind quarters of BINGO BOBBY (M. McGuren) when taken in by KENTUCKY WOMAN (C. Munce), which in turn was taken in by MORE LEVERAGE (B. El-Issa). Stewards severely reprimanded B. El-Issa, rider of MORE LEVERAGE, and advised him to be fully clear in future when shifting ground.
Approaching the 800m, DOUGHTY, which was pulling hard, had to be steadied away from the heels of MORE LEVERAGE, which shifted in.
Passing the 700m, BINGO BOBBY had to be steadied from the heels of DOUGHTY and in doing so shifted out and made contact with KENTUCKY WOMAN. CAELLUM (S. Galloway), which was following, then shifted out.
Inside the 200m, ALDINI (T. Bell) was tightened for room between KENTUCKY WOMAN, which was tiring, and BUAKAW (T. Wolfgram), which shifted in.
Approaching the 100m, CAELLUM shifted away from CUM DIVIDEND and made contact with
HEART OF MANY, which in turn brushed KENTUCKY WOMAN.
Close to the finish line, VOODOO BLUE MAGIC (A. Allen) had to be steadied from the heels of BUSHY (E. Wilkinson), which shifted in.
L. Cassidy reported that HEART OF MANY raced ungenerously throughout the race. A post race veterinary examination of HEART OF MANY revealed the horse to be coughing. Trainer B. Baldwin undertook to report to stewards if anything was amiss with the gelding in the days following the event.
