GENERAL

B. El-Issa was examined by the Club's Doctor upon arrival at the course and cleared to fulfil his engagements today.

Race 1: Greenslopes Emergency Benchmark 90 H’Cap - 1000m

Trainer P. Donnollan advised SPORTING PAGE would be ridden more forward today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

Due to transport difficulties both G. Colless (G'DAY OLD MATE) and App T. Harrison (EXPLORE THE WORLD) were replaced by E. Wilkinson and B. El-Issa respectively.

Near the 900m EXPLORE THE WORLD was hampered by THE STOREMAN (App T. Wolfgram), which shifted out.

Near the 600m BAHSA (T. Bell) was momentarily tightened for room between G'DAY OLD MATE and EXPLORE THE WORLD, which shifted out.

After leaving the 600m SPORTING PAGE (J. Taylor) when being steadied shifted out abruptly across the heels of TERMS OF TRADE (C. Munce).

PURE PURRFECTION (J. Byrne) was held up in the early stages of the straight and shifted out near the 100m inconveniencing THE STOREMAN.

J. Taylor reported that SPORTING PAGE hung in for a major part of the home straight. Trainer P. Donnollan advised he now intends to place SPORTING PAGE in a one eyed blinker for future starts.

Race 2: 50 Years Of Ramsay Health Care JRA Tails Stakes - 2128m

Trainer B. Smith advised ARCTIC would be ridden in a forward position today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

HEARTFELT QUEST (App G. Goold) was fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

ARCTIC (E. Wilkinson) shifted out at the start and bumped SECRET GARDEN (B. El-Issa).

HEARTFELT QUEST shifted out under pressure leaving the 100m.

App G. Goold the rider of HEARTFELT QUEST was fined the sum of $200.00 for using his whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

A post race veterinary examination of EMPRESS ME (T. Bell), which finished a distant last, revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S. O'Dea advised that the mare would now be spelled.

Race 3: Greenslopes Maternity QTIS 2YO H'Cap - 1300m

Subject to any further submissions trainer R. Lipp was fined the sum of $200.00 for the late declaration of T. Bell as the rider of STAR DROP.

OUR ROCK O'REILLY was withdrawn by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.30 p.m. after the colt became cast when being loaded into the barriers. All monies invested on OUR ROCK O'REILLY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1.30 p.m.:-

8 cents in the dollar for the winner #2 (FURBISH)
3 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #2 (FURBISH)
15 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #4 (DEUCED)
14 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place #10 (GIRLS COMMAND)

PINKMAN (G. Colless) shifted out at the start tightening GIRLS COMMAND (App R. Ride) and VERBIER (E. Wilkinson).

STAR DROP (T. Bell) overraced in the early stages of the event.

Near the 500m DEUCED (R. McMahon) shifted out making contact with OUR MATE MUZ (R. Spokes), resulting in that gelding shifting out making contact with EMOTIONS IN MOTION (App B. Appo). STAR DROP which was following shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of EMOTIONS IN MOTION.
RAYS ARE LUCKY (M. Cahill) was held up rounding the home turn.

Approaching the 200m GIRLS COMMAND shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of SILVER HEELS (J. Taylor).

Approaching the winning post GIRLS COMMAND shifted in under pressure taking PINKMAN in onto SILVER HEELS.

OUT LATE (D. Browne) laid in under pressure in the straight.

EMOTIONS IN MOTION raced wide without cover throughout event.

T. Bell reported at scale it was not his intention to race in a forward position however, was unable to restrain the filly in the early stages of the event.

Race 4: Cyril Gilbert OAM Benchmark 85 H'Cap 1400m

NOISY OCEAN (App J.K. Johnson) and MR LIGHT BLUE (App T. Harrison) came together on jumping away.

ARADO (M. Cahill) and BRAYROAN (E. Wilkinson) were both slow to begin.

HOUR OF PERIL (L. Cassidy) and MASHKOOR (App G. Goold) both overraced in the early stages of the event.

MAGIC IN MOTION (G. Colless) shifted out shortly after the start and continued to shift ground resulting in JUST A PERLA (App B. Appo) striking its heels near the 1350m and blundering.

Near the 700m BESEECH (App R. Ride) improved to the inside of the heels of JUST A PERLA where there was insufficient room and had to be checked.

CONGO (App T. Wolfgram) raced wide without cover throughout the event.

A post race veterinary examination of MASHKOOR revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the second occasion the gelding had bled it will now incur a lifetime ban from racing.

A post race veterinary examination of LITTLE LONG HORN (J. Byrne) revealed the gelding had been galloped on the off hind leg.

A post race veterinary examination of JUST A PERLA revealed no significant abnormalities.

Race 5: Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation Class 6 Plate - 1600m

Trainer G. Heinrich was fined the sum of $200.00 for the late declaration of C. Munce as the rider of DYSFUNCTION.

VACALLO (App T. Harrison) reared as the start was effected and was slow to begin.

GIDS (E. Wilkinson) pulled hard in the early stages of the event.

Approaching the 1000m CASINO BRIDE (App B. Appo) had to be restrained off the heels of GIDS and as a result shifted out. CASINO BRIDE then raced wide without cover for the remainder of the event.

BEWHATYOUWANNABE (App T. Wolfgram) pulled hard in the middle stages of the event.

VACALLO raced wide throughout the event.

Race 6: APHS Gunsynd Classic - 1600m

CRUZ BY (L. Cassidy) was slow into stride.

ALWAYS A GIBBERER (R. McMahon) had to be steadied off the heels of BODEGA NEGRA (K. Wharton) approaching the 1400m.

OLYMPIC ANTHEM (M. Cahill) commenced to overrace leaving the 1300m.

Passing the 1000m SAGUARO (J. Byrne) had to be eased off the heels of HOPFGARTEN (D. Browne). RUDY (App T. Harrison) which was following also had to be steadied.

ARCHITECT (A. Spinks) pulled hard in the middle stages of the event.

Approaching the 700m BODEGA NEGRA shifted out making contact with RUDY, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced.

Near the 600m SAGUARO was momentarily tightened for room by DARCI MAGIC (J. Taylor), which shifted in.

DARCI MAGIC raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event.

SHIRAZ ATTACK (T. Bell) raced 3 wide throughout the event.

When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on HOPFGARTEN jockey D. Browne stated he had no specific instructions from trainer R. Heathcote however, he had ridden the horse in a handy position 2 starts back at Eagle Farm. He added that when the gelding began well he elected to push forward hoping to race in a handy position with cover however, when it was apparent he was going to be caught wide he elected to ride forward to race outside the leader AVALANCHES (S. Galloway) approaching the 1000m.

When asked to comment on the disappointing performance of SHIRAZ ATTACK jockey Bell stated that after travelling 3 deep throughout the filly failed to sprint as well has he would have liked at a point near the 500m. Jockey Bell added that he was not overly disappointed with performance however, he stated that the filly may be looking for further ground. A post race veterinary examination of SHIRAZ ATTACK revealed no abnormalities.

Race 7: Greenslopes Private Victory Stakes - 1200m

SPIRIT OF BOOM (T. Bell) and RIVER LAD (M. Cahill) were both slow to begin.

App T. Harrison the rider of TEMPLE OF BOOM accidentally dropped her whip near the 200m.

App Harrison was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on TEMPLE OF BOOM. App Harrison stated she had specific instructions to have the gelding race wherever comfortable and not to pressure or restrain the gelding in the early stages. App Harrison added that although she raced wide she was reluctant to push forward to clear SOMEDAY (C. Munce).

A post race veterinary examination of RIVER LAD revealed the gelding to have been hit in the near side eye by a clod.

Race 8: Qld Robotic Surgery Class 6 Plate - 1200m

Trainer J. Morrisey advised EMERALD DUKE would be ridden in a more forward position today than at its most recent starts. The horse was slow to begin and was ridden forward and raced wide.

WHO WILL (App G. Goold) which was fractious in the gates began awkwardly.

REGULAR (App J.K. Johnson) raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

NOOGOORA BURR (App A. Allen) hung out approaching the 400m.

ROYAL SHOUT (J. Taylor) lost the near hind plate during running.

GOTTA BE LUCKY (A. Spinks) dipped near the 550m.
