Race 1: CHRIS ANDERSON RACING RACEDAY BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 2212M
 
CAILLEBOTTE – J. Orman reported at scale that near the 1400m his mount was pulling hard and as a result he allowed the gelding to stride forward and gained the lead near the 1000m.
 
MORENDI – Bumped inside the 200m.
 
SKYTREK – Hung out after leaving the 600m. Apprentice A. Sewell reported at scale that his mount pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
 
IT’SALL ABOUTHARRY – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse was suffering from mild heat stress following the event.
 
LADY NO MORE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
THREE POINTS – Shifted ground under pressure in the straight and made contact with another runner inside the 200m.
 
WALWA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than that the mare had shifted the near hind plate.
 

Race 2: BJW DEVELOPMENTS QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1000M
 
CITRAIN – Jumped awkwardly and then was severely checked when tightened for room.
 
RED HOT MISS – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied approaching the 800m to avoid the heels of the riderless horse. Inclined to hang in in the straight.
 
SHOWASHADOW – Shifted in abruptly shortly after the start. Bumped inside the 100m.
 
TRESTRAIL – Shifted out and away from heels inside the 100m and made contact with another runner.
 
PRINCESS CAVALLO – Blundered shortly after the start and dislodged its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have skin off the nearside hock. Following the event J. Orman was examined by the Club doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.
 
Race 3: OPTUS BUSINESS CENTRE CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1000M
 
HI I’M BACK – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
VIENNA QUEEN – Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 200m.
 
TRUE PASSION – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
 
FORTINI – Slow to begin and then had to be steadied shortly after the start.
 
Race 4: CHRIS ANDERSON RACING OPEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
BECKHAM – Raced four wide without cover.
 
GUEST OF HONOUR – Permission was granted for the gelding to race without a bubble cheeker today. Bumped shortly after the start.
 
WHISKEY ALLROUND – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
EL SASSO – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 900m.
 
ESPIRITU – Raced wide without cover.
 
BILLY DA BOSS – Bumped on jumping. Had to steady off heels approaching the winning post. Apprentice A. Fancourt, the rider of UPSTART PRIDE, was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in over the concluding stages when not fully clear of a runner to her inside.
 
Race 5: CARBONE DEVELOPMENTS CLASS 6 PLATE – 1400M
 
MARKSFIELD – Trainer M. Kropp was fined $100 for the late declaration of Apprentice A. Sewell as rider. Raced four wide without cover.
 
BRACTEATE – P. Hammersley accidentally dropped his whip near the 150m.
 
OLD HABITS – Slow to begin.
 
STAROCITY – Raced three wide without cover.
 
DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE – Trainer T. Bourke was questioned regarding the tactics adopted by apprentice R. Williams. He stated that he had instructed Ms Williams to have the gelding just behind the leaders, however in his opinion the gelding got further back than he had expected. Mr Bourke was advised that in future he must always inform stewards of any change in riding tactics.
 
Race 6: ASCOT CHILDCARE & KINDY OPENING SOON CLASS 3 PLATE – 1400M
 
KARAKABEEL – Raced wide without cover.
 
KEEP ON ROCKING – Raced wide without cover. Eased over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer G. Duncan was advised that the horse must undergo an ECG, and also must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
ROLLING ROMAN – Slow to begin.
 
HOTEL COSTE – Got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance after being briefly tightened for room approaching the 1000m.
 
LA CIGALE – Slow to begin.
 
MR CHAPLIN – Although a barrier blanket had been worn when racing in Victoria in the charge of a different trainer, the gelding had trialled in Queensland without a barrier blanket and a barrier blanket was not used in the barriers today. Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 100m. The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had bled from the offside nostril. Trainer L. Mayfield-Smith was advised that the horse must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.
 
SHAFTESBURY – Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 1200m.
 
KAVALONG – Had to be steadied shortly after the start to avoid heels.
 
Race 7: CHRIS ANDERSON RACING OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES OPEN H’CAP – 1600M
 
L’ENTRECOTE – Had to be restrained off heels near the 800m.
 
BEATNIKS – Raced wide without cover from the 1000m.
 
RULING FORCE – Had to be restrained off heels near the 1300m.
 
GLENDARA – Got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance when the pace steadied approaching the 1000m. Crowded for room near the 800m.
 
COLOUR CHARGE – As J. Orman was to be overweight, R. Stewart was substituted as rider. As J. Orman had taken medication and fluids after falling from PRINCESS CAVALLO in Race 2, no action was taken. When questioned, trainer N. McCall advised that the reason for the horse’s improved performance was the step up in distance to 1600m.
 
MOON AND THE STARS – Slow to begin. Hampered and had to be steadied away from heels near the 700m.
 
Race 8: ANDERSONRACING.COM.AU QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1200M
 
OINK – Brushed near the 300m.
 
MISHANI EL LOBO – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 100m.
 
TYZONE – Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted out from behind heels after leaving the 200m and made contact with another runner. Shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of another runner near the 100m. B. Stewart reported at scale that his mount was inconvenienced by SPRING TYCOON shortly after the start, which placed him further back in the field than he had intended.
 
SPRING TYCOON – D. Browne reported at scale that the saddle shifted back slightly after jumping and for a short distance the colt attempted to buck.
 
ST HILARY – Buffeted for room shortly after the start. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
VITAL LOVE – Bumped leaving the 200m.
 
BOLD SHOT – Attempted to improve to the outside of the heels of MISHANI EL LOBO approaching the 300m and was prevented from doing so by VITAL LOVE, which was racing close to the outside, and then shifted back to the inside to obtain clear running and made contact with another runner.
 
DIA DE REYES – Slow to begin. Hung out in the middle stages and continued to do so until straightening.
