Race 1: SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

GOOD CATCH – Raced four wide throughout.

TYCOON TYKE – Hung out from the 900m to the 400m and then hung out in the straight.

Race 2: SUPERHERO SATURDAY QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow L. Tarrant, the rider of 4th placegetter WHODUNNIT, to view the stewards’ patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds on which to lodge an objection.

ENGRAVED – J. Lloyd explained that approaching the finish line his mount was inclined to lay in slightly and as OUR RED JET improved to the inside of CLASSAY (R. Fradd), jockey Fradd called, resulting in jockey Lloyd straightening his mount and as a consequence not riding it right out to the finish. As stewards were not able to ascertain whether or not such action cost his mount 5th placing, no action was taken.

REAL GANADOR – Raced four wide without cover.

SUNDAY HALO – Steadied when crowded near the 1100m whilst racing greenly.

Goold reported that the mare enjoyed a nice run until about the 700m and when the tempo began to quicken he endeavoured to place his mount under pressure, however it failed to respond, and in the straight, as he was concerned with the manner in which it was weakening, he did not persist in riding it out. He added that the mare made an abnormal breathing noise up the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have an irregular heartbeat. Trainer K. Walker was advised that prior to the horse racing again it must perform satisfactorily in an official trial and he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG  Mr Walker advised that the mare would now be sent for an immediate spell.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 7: WWW.BRC.COM.AU RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1000M
