Race 7: CHANNEL 7 QUEENSLAND DERBY – 2400M

On return to scale D. Oliver, the rider of VOW AND DECLARE, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against MR QUICKIE (A. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the videos it was established that MR QUICKIE shifted out to obtain clear running near the 300m and brushed VOW AND DECLARE, and over the final 100m again shifted outwards, momentarily hampering VOW AND DECLARE, which had to be eased away from that runner’s heels, however, bearing in mind the margin separating both runners at the finish and the extent of the interference, stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
