SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Eagle Farm Saturday 23 May 2020 – Race 7: Lexus Gunsynd Classic – 1800m –
Co-trainer D. Eustace was advised that a $1000 fine would be imposed under LR30 for failing to present SKY HORSE on course by the prescribed time. Further, Mr Eustace was advised that under the provisions of AR283(5) $500 of that fine would be suspended conditional upon there being no further breaches of this rule for a period of 12 months.
Race 1: XXXX DRY C,G&E BM 85 H'CAP – 1300M
ASTORIA – Overraced in the early stages.
THY KINGDOM COME – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the home straight until passing the 200m.
ELIXIR – Apprentice J. Huxtable was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
PLENTY – Slow to begin. For some distance approaching and passing the 800m got its head in the air when being restrained from the heels of THY KINGDOM COME. Unable to secure clear running rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 150m. Severely hampered near the 150m when tightened for room between ASTORIA and THY KINGDOM COME, which shifted out to improve. M. Cahill, the rider of THY KINGDOM COME, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) for shifting his mount outward when not clear of PLENTY. Jockey Cahill’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight Sunday 21 June and expire at midnight Friday 3 July 2020.
RACECOURSE ROAD – Raced fiercely on the heels of STARKERS approaching the 600m and as a result shifted out.
SAXTON ROCK – Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position close to the rail in the early stages.
REACH FOR HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Raced four wide in the early stages and was then ridden forward to race three wide without cover by the 800m.
TISANI MAGIC – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
STARKERS – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to race outside the leader by the 700m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Lost the near hind plate in running.
Race 2: LEXUS F&M BM 85 H'CAP – 1300M
STAR REFLECTION – Jumped very awkwardly, shifted out and severely hampered MEWSTONE ROCK.
WINTER PASSAGE – Inconvenienced on a couple of occasions over the concluding stages.
BELLARIA – Had to be checked at the start.
TARDIS – J. Bayliss reported at scale that his mount did not appreciate today’s firm surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg. Connections were advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
CLOCKWISE – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ERRINGHI SPRING, which was taken out across the rightful running of BELLARIA, which had to be checked. Had difficulty securing clear running in the straight and was taken outwards near the 300m by STAR REFLECTION.
THE PINES – Raced three wide with cover. R. Fradd reported at scale that his mount did not appreciate today’s firm surface.
RED DOULTON – Pulled hard in the early stages. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before shifting out and bumping TYCOON STREET near the 300m.
AMICITIA – Inclined to lay in in the early part of the home straight when under pressure.
MEWSTONE ROCK – Severely hampered at the start.
TYCOON STREET – Raced three wide with cover. Bumped by RED DOULTON near the 300m.
ERRINGHI SPRING – Taken outwards by CLOCKWISE at the start. Raced three wide without cover.
Race 3: THE VILLAGE KITCHEN BM 78 H'CAP – 1600M
WAPITI – Jumped awkwardly.
LUCKY JACKSON – From the wide barrier was restrained at the start to gain a position close to the rail. Taken wider near the 700m.
COULDN’T REFUSE – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to cross to the position outside the leader by the 800m.
ROSENDAHL RED – Raced three wide with cover. J. Taylor was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
BAREFOOT – Overraced in the early stages. Had to be restrained near the 700m when another runner restrained off heels, and as a result shifted out, taking LUCKY JACKSON wider.
JOYMAKER – Commenced to overrace near the 700m and had to be restrained off the heels of LOPE FOR JOYA.
CANAPES – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
FAIRY ME HOME – Overraced in the middle stages. Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
WATCH THE CAT – Raced three wide with cover until near the 800m and without cover thereafter.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.
Race 4: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY DALRELLO STAKES – 1200M
TUMBLER RIDGE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
READY FOR MAGIC – Raced wide without cover.
MOONAN ME – Raced three wide with cover.
BE WATER MY FRIEND – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
SUPREMO – Inclined to hang outwards throughout. Shied upon returning to scale, resulting in its rider becoming dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Thompson advised that the horse would now be sent for a spell.
SMART ‘N SEXY – Shifted in under pressure after passing the 200m and momentarily became awkward at the heels of ONE SHY RUBY.
PLUTOCRAT – Overraced in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover.
PAPAYA – Broke down in the near fore fetlock soon after the winning post and was euthanased on humane grounds.
QUEEN SWEEPER – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Raced three wide with cover.
B. Stewart, who was dislodged from his mount returning to scale, was examined by the Club doctor and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
Race 5: SKY RACING ACTIVE TATTERSALL’S CUP – 2400M
SHRAAOH – L. Dittman was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. The stable reported that the gelding had bled from the offside nostril. The horse must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.
BLACK ON GOLD – Overraced in the early stages.
ANOTHER DOLLAR – From the wide barrier, restrained at the start to gain a position close to the rail. J. Byrne reported that after being restrained at the start his mount was then not suited by the slow tempo and failed to finish the event off.
SAVACOOL – Overraced in the early stages.
RED STINA – Slow to begin.
Race 6: TAB ASCOT H'CAP – 1200M
BRAVE SONG – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
BANDIPUR – J. Guthmann-Chester was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
TARZAN – Had to be restrained to avoid the heels of BOOMTOWN LASS near the 800m when that runner shifted in when not fully clear. M. Du Plessis, the rider of BOOMTOWN LASS, was reprimanded.
EMERALD KINGDOM – Tightened for room near the 1000m and had to be eased and then commenced to overrace from that point.
Race 7: MAGIC MILLIONS THE ROSES – 1800M
CELESTIAL FALLS – Overraced in the middle stages.
CELLARMAID – J. Orman was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
DEE DAY DIVA – Raced three wide with cover. T. Harrison was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
MONEY MAGIC – Raced three wide without cover.
SOUL PURPOSE – Restrained at the start from the wide barrier.
MISS PENFOLD – Had to be checked approaching the 100m to avoid the heels of the weakening AL JOOD. J. Bayliss was fined $200 for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
Race 8: ASCOT GREEN EAGLE FARM MILE – 1600M
NICCANOVA – Raced three wide until approaching the 800m. Hung in under pressure over the final 300m. J. Orman dropped his offside rein passing the 150m. J. Orman was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
COOL CHAP – Raced three wide throughout.
GET STUCK IN – Raced three wide before being ridden forward to a one-off position near the 800m.
LA PULGA – Slow to begin.
DELECTATION GIRL – Held up rounding the home turn.
Race 9: QUINCY DANE RIPPER STAKES – 1400M
PAINT THE TOWN TWO was a late scratching at 1:37 pm when stewards acceded to a request by trainer B. Laming’s representative to scratch the horse because of the track upgrade. A veterinary examination prior to the horse leaving the track revealed no abnormalities and a blood sample was taken from the mare.
IRITHEA – R. Maloney advised that the mare did not appreciate today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be not striding out in front.
TELEPLAY – Crowded for room and lost its position near the 200m. M. Cahill, the rider of FIESTA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 200m when insufficiently clear of TELEPLAY. Jockey Cahill’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight Sunday 21 June and expire at midnight Wednesday 1 July 2020.
BACCARAT BABY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
INTO THE ABYSS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
ROMANI GIRL – Fractious in the float en route to the course, underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the track and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin.
KRONE – Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 200m.
